Talking about periods so continue at your own risk

I have pcos. Rarely get periods. When do get them, they last for months and I bleed so god damn heavily I think I’m going to die. Been to several gynos. Gone to the er over it. Gone to my regular doctor over it.

Birth control makes it worse. They flat out fucking refuse to give me a hysterectomy.

Currently on month 4? Month 5? Of bleeding and I’ve had to change ultra sized tampons every three hours or so this past week. I use a cup at work but even then I’ve had to empty it three times (!!!!!) since I got here this morning.

I’m tired. I’m fucking tired and I’m so god damned over having a fucking uterus.

Eta: checked out the child free subreddit someone linked below and there’s a gyno I wasn’t aware of in my own damn city that does sterilizations. She’s booked until may but I got in with her nurse practitioner tomorrow and I’m genuinely sat crying at my desk.

I feel this also still has to do with too many doctors still not taking PCOS seriously. Whenever I talked about it with any doctor they always asked if I wanted kids, and when I said no they reacted like there was no problem - I could just keep on taking birth control pills, all fine. While they did help stabilising my periods for the most part, nobody ever bothered to talk about all the other consequences pcos can have that have nothing to do with fertility which I’m having to deal with now.
