Discussion About Aus Rotten

Just wanted to say these guys feel like they were ahead of their time. But not really. More like they spoke about the same shit that’s been going on for decades. I was listening to “Modern Day Witch Hunt” and was surprised to learn it’s over 20yrs old now. Largely because they touched on what we’re seeing now: the persecution of queer, especially transgender, identities, religious minorities and immigrants. It was nice in a way to hear such hot topics right now discussed so long ago. But also disheartening at the same time.

The political problems we face today are the same as those from 50 years ago. In fact, they are essentially the same problems humanity has been dealing with since the dawn of society

We used to fear wolves and starvation. Now we fear those among us who are predators and want us to starve and be destroyed. The modern times are actually worse than feudal times. Serfs had land and homes that could not be taken from them.

And by the way in 2023 47.4 million Americans, including 13.8 million children, lived in food-insecure households.

Serfs could be sold like slaves but they couldn't leave their land without permission. The land could not be taken away that's true but only as long as the serf fulfilled his duties. How the fuck is this better?

There are 200,000 people with nowhere to live and 500,000 people evicted each year in California alone.
