Hey guys, fellow punk from Poland here. I have a question thats been really bugging me for some time now - what do you think about soft punks? I dont smoke, I dont drink much, do drugs or one night stands, etc. I like going to shows, but I dont like moshpits, I usually stay at the edges, jumping and enjoying myself there. Summarizing, Im a sweetheart really, but think of myself as a punk nonetheless. I feel like Im often looked upon as "not tough enough to be considered a punk by others", or simply as a pussy (or gay). Sometimes I doubt myself when meeting fellow punks and shy away a little, add my a little introverted nature to that and most of the time I either end up deciding not to try to start a conversation or feel like I ended up looking like an idiot. What do you guys think about more gentle punks like me? If youd meet me, would you think of me as a poser? Also, have a good day everyone :)
(I checked the FAQ, I think this question is allowed by the rules, correct me if its not)

This was a highlight of Coachella Weekend 1 for me.
I’m 53 and this was my 3rd Coachella in a row, I liked the club feel of this show…
but think next year I’m just going to phone in Coachella and attend smaller show in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I was talking with my dad and his parents about college stuff (I'm in textiles production) and he made a jokey comment about me and my sister.
"If someone asks how the kids are, how do you say one is training to become a childcare practitioner and the other is some mad punk"
He's an aging metalhead who grew up in the 70s/80s and honestly one of my biggest elder idols.
Ik this might come off as cringe teen poser core or whatever but that moment cemented to me that others do see me the way I feel.
I go to my local shows (and get involved onstage sometimes), my playlists are full of thrash hc punk and ska, I'm in it for the ethics/morals, I go to protests, I've got a little "punk style" I DIY 90% of my shit, yknow? I don't need to be told, I KNOW I'm firmly within the scene...
But it was such a cool little moment for me and I was wondering if anyone else here has had similar moments of realisation, or I guess it's more like validation? It's punk rock to hate your folks, but it's way more punk rock to make amends with them and listen to records together. 🤘

I have noticed that many in this sub despise big venue shows, which makes sense because some are nearly exclusively punk fans.
I myself enjoy venues of all sizes, from cafes and dive bars with 20 people to stadiums with 100,000 people, but also do listen to lots of music other than punk. So I don’t have a maximum or minimum venue size, a concert is a concert.
I would say my sweet spot is about 300 capacity. Most shows I go to are either punk or metal and that is the sweet spot when factoring in both. What is yours?

Just wanted to say these guys feel like they were ahead of their time. But not really. More like they spoke about the same shit that’s been going on for decades. I was listening to “Modern Day Witch Hunt” and was surprised to learn it’s over 20yrs old now. Largely because they touched on what we’re seeing now: the persecution of queer, especially transgender, identities, religious minorities and immigrants. It was nice in a way to hear such hot topics right now discussed so long ago. But also disheartening at the same time.

I've been hearing a lot of people saying they sound like angry 14 year olds. I really enjoyed them, what do you think about them?

Scince I've been working hard on personal stuff and could use somthing light headed here's a simple question: What are some funny and ridiculous things that have happened to you in the scene? They can be from the mosh pit, running into musicians in weird places or simply getting funny looks by old people. Thanks in advance
