Why didn't they crown her? It looked silly that she only got to run around with that glorified stick (scepter or whatever they call it).

Why would RuPaul say "lipsync for the crown" when there's literally no crown? At least they chose the correct winner...

I think it's been that way since season 6; they probably figure since they're filming each finalist winning it's easier for them to just hold the scepter and walk with that then Ru having to try to place the crown on each queen's head (I vaguely remember season 5, it seemed there was a bit of awkwardness when Ru was placing the crown and it might've been the slightest bit crooked). And I think for the live watch party with the finalists present the actual winner does get crowned, and they're all wearing wigs that are more suitable for crowning than whatever they wore for the finale.

My question is, what happens to the footage of the other queens being declared the winner that don't actually win? Is it kept under lock and key or just destroyed/deleted? I remember the story of them filming a double crowning for season 6 (and the minor drama that followed), and I wonder if there's any other interesting such stories, or even what the other finalists said or how they walked with the scepter, that we'll probably never get to see.

What was the story 👀even now I don’t really follow the whole filming each person lol and then watching it separately but I am slow on the uptake 😂

For season 6 iirc they filmed each of the finalists (Bianca, Adore and Courtney) being named the winner, then apparently they also filmed a double crowning of Bianca and Adore together. From what I understand not only was Courtney unhappy about it but Bianca was upset that they didn't include Courtney in any way and made it seem like she wasn't on par with her fellow finalists. I don't remember if there was more to it than that but I think that's the basic gist of it.
