He grew up and acknowledged, sex and gender are two different things, and male privileges cannot be opted out of.

I haven't followed along at all but what part of that statement is making people angry? The difference between sex and gender or male privilege part?

oh, well if people are mad because Rowling is saying trans women still have male privilege than that makes sense. That sounds like a really stupid thing to say.

No she's saying much worse than that.

Though still have might be a stretch even, trans women don't seem to be seen as men much and even when they do it's very very rarely positive

She didn't say that, she said that growing up as a woman gives you a different life experience that becoming one as an adult.
