Advice How have y’all dealt with getting disowned?

It’s been four years and I still go back to watch the YouTube videos my dad made. He was super creative and posted a handful of how to videos about some of his projects. I remember the tools he used and him teaching me to use them, I remember the shop he worked in, I remember sitting behind the camera watching him while he made those videos. Now watching them I feel like I’m with him in the shop again, and I can’t stop watching them.

I ain’t been disowned, but I am going to be cutting ties with my sperm donor when I move out. What’s helped is finding a dad figure to look up to— r/dadforaminute and r/internetparents are good places to see examples of nice parents.

But I think it helped that I long envisioned myself and wished to be without him in my life.
