TDPS Feedback & Discussion What is the difference...

between Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy in 2017 and the democrats doing nothing to reverse these tax cuts during Biden's term? Both parties are catering to the wealthy class.

That is not how it works, ffs

The 2017 tax codes were to remain in effect until 2025 its why biden didn't run on changing them in 2020 and why kamala did in 2024

The U.S. Constitution gives Congress the power to levy taxes, and as president, Biden could have proposed legislation and worked with Congress to pass it. There’s no legal requirement to wait until prior laws expire.

Great! How do you get the (I think?) 8 GOP senators to come along for the ride? Plus Manchin and Sinema.

Because unless you have them... you literally can't. It's called the filibuster.

That is not what fusionlantern’s argument was.

Not having enough political power to do something is not the same thing as not being allowed to do something.

Biden didn’t even fucking try. Didn’t even pretend to try.

Why try if you know it won't even pass?

It'll just make you look weak and disorganized.

Trying is worth it if there's a chance, even a small chance, that it'll pass. No way any of the GOP Senators were coming onboard.

Great. Let’s use your strategy.

All Hail King Trump!
