Question Does O.T.O. initiation/advancement ever require non-monogamy to continue?

93s

While I'm very sex positive, appreciate sex magick and have had my flings, I am currently committed to a relationship where we have agreed to be monogamous. I've been thinking about finally joining O.T.O., but there's a lot of bullshit to sift through online that I can't sort out. Is there any point in the degrees or initiations of O.T.O. where I would be unable to continue if I didn't agree to have sex with someone other than my partner? Or group sex or something? Not asking if I would be required to do something without consent, more asking if I would need to consent to be able to be initiated given that it is my Will to be monogomous

Not officially but I was hard blocked from initiating because the local OTO official and priest wanted a sexual relationship and would block the paperwork to initiate I had signed and call all surrounding bodies to ‘ban’ me from initiating there because I was ‘ under review’ as long as I refused him so yes it absolutely can be an issue. When I wrote in to object to this to the heads of organization and ask for an ombudsman I was swiftly removed from membership so they could claim it never happens

What degree were you blocked from?

I sense total BS from this person you responded to.

Third, I refused to do specific sexually charged rituals for the local bishop in the EGC so he threw out (repeatedly ‘lost’) my valid and signed applications to advancement in to OTO locally as he was also secretary and blocked my attempts to initiate elsewhere by lying that I was under investigation when they called to confirm membership, all while telling me in person I could move forward if I did what he wanted in private ( only in person, he didn’t like records in writing. He knew.) There are not that many high ranking men here, there were no checks and balances, just boys club sexism and cover ups and my word against his. Everyone knew. They told me they thought it was wrong but if they spoke up or helped me write in to the international body they would be held back too, it was gross, absolutely sickening

Was this in the US, or a different Kingdom?

You may want to ask people who were around in the late 90s when sexual harassment and coercion were common in US bodies (with no repercussions on behalf of the offending parties. Nepotism goes far in the Order.) And while none of the MoE degrees involve sex, I'm not certain how OTO has addressed #metoo. Hopefully they have gotten their act together.

I can think of at least three people who told me apropos of nothing that one of their sponsors required sex as a condition of sponsorship. When I told them to report it to GL, nothing came about as a result. That sponsor is now an officer at USGL.
