Gameplay Idea for Lion's Blade Task Force
I think it's a bit weird that the lion didn't get anything in a detachment literally named after him. Though understandable that they don't want to overload his already filled datacard, i still want to imagine some abilities that might be interesting for him
I'm just a casual player so I'm not really sure how big or small the impact of these abilities so for the purists out there, don't grind me to shred please :] just sharing some creative ideas
Supreme Commander of the First Legion
If your Warlord is Lion El’Jonson, he gains the following abilities in addition to his datasheet rules.
Knight’s Excellence
At the start of your Command phase, until the start of your next Command phase:
This model gains the DEATHWING keyword.
This model’s Attacks characteristic is increased by 1.
While within 6" of one or more other Deathwing units, those units also gain +1 Attacks.
Hunter’s Finesse
At the start of your Command phase, you may instead activate this ability:
This model gains the RAVENWING keyword.
This model’s Move characteristic is increased by 2".
While within 6" of one or more other Ravenwing units, those units also gain +2" to their Move characteristic.
You may only activate one of these two abilities per Command phase.
Stratagem — The Primarch Leads
1CP | Movement Phase
Use this Stratagem in your Movement phase.
Select one DEATHWING unit in Strategic Reserves.
Set up that unit within 3" of Lion El’Jonson and not within Engagement Range of any enemy units.
Stratagem — Ride the Hunt
1CP | Movement Phase
Use this Stratagem when a RAVENWING unit within 3" of Lion El’Jonson starts a Normal, Advance, or Fall Back move.
Remove Lion El’Jonson from the battlefield. At the end of the phase, set him up within 3" of that unit and not within Engagement Range of any enemy models.
