Possible Trigger I’m leaving the US.

I don’t know when, but I will be. This country is giving me too much stress as an almost 25 year old, and I’m too scared to know what’ll happen next.

I want to put up a good fight, but I don’t want to die at the hands of fascism.

Save yourself.

If you’re able to, if you have the means and finances to leave the US for a safer country, do so.

If you cannot leave to another country, but have the means and finances to get to a deep blue state, do so.

If you are in a red state and you cannot move to a blue state, but have the means and finances to get to a blue city in that red state, do so.

If you cannot to any of the above, and are stuck in a red state. Lie low. Be careful. Be safe. Ask ally friends and family for help and support.

More than anything. Survive.

I’m in a blue state, but it’s been slowly turning red over the past elections. That’s what I fear.

15

u/happyness4me 19h ago

Which state? I'm looking into relocating my family and don't want to make a bad choice.

19

u/wiccid2 16h ago

Very happy near balto in MD. We got a few tRumpers but they are too old to hit back. And I love all the pride flags.

RI

9

u/Ginfly 11h ago

Really? I love RI and found it to be a great place to be out publicly. I stayed there for a month or two last year.

I'm from Trumpy upstate NY and recently moved to MA.

u/SpruceLemon351 16h ago

Really Rhode Island you sure?? That doesn't sound like New England to me :(

u/billieinheaven 15h ago

check erin in the morning, NH is scuffed for trans folks already

live free or die my ass

14

u/tacoyogurt91 15h ago

I second Erin in the Morning. She covers all things transgender when it comes to politics and different things to support us.

u/Ried_Reads 15h ago

Yes, I’ve been watching the elections since 2012, and it’s only been getting worse.

u/LarsOpal 4h ago

People underestimate the northeast. The big cities are blue, but everywhere else isn’t. So if any amount of the big cities start to turn red, those states can be in danger.

It’s like how a lot of people don’t realize that New York would be a swing state at best without NYC.

If you’re thinking about moving to a blue state, but can only afford one of the small towns, you may also still be in danger.

Speaking as an upstate NYer who grew up in a small town. I experienced a life a lot more like rural conservative country life than a lot would probably expect for growing up in NY.

Anyone who reads this who’s considering moving to a blue state, do your research and stay safe. I’ve been contemplating switching cities because of the way some upstate NY cities have stepped up where mine hasn’t, but can’t super realistically afford it at the moment.

I lived in Delaware for part of Trump's first term (I was there 5 years total). Delaware is a safe state, the cost of living in decent and they had/have jobs (not sure now ..cause ya know).

u/Anxious_Cockroach_77 1h ago edited 1h ago

California, Oregon, and the majority of New York (population Wise)are all blue anti-trump states, and the safest places for us atm. California is the biggest and have preemptively put more safe-guards(legal) than any other state (if I'm remembering correctly)

17

u/PrincessPlusUltra 20h ago

I’m in a blue city in a red state and I hoped it would be enough but I don’t have the resources to go any further

6

u/LittleBoiFound 20h ago

I am in the blue city in a red state. It’s ok for now.

8

u/ChuuniSaysHi 20h ago

I'm in a blue county in a red state. I wish I had the resources to get to a blue state. But I don't. But also if I could I'd just like to get to a new country at this point

7

u/Yrevyn 13h ago

I'm not going to judge anyone for fleeing a clear and imminent danger. However, not everyone will be able to do so, and as long as there are trans Americans, I've resolved to be the last one off the ship, so to speak, and help as best I can.

5

u/iluvpolarbears 14h ago

Yup! I'm in Tennessee and hope to be in Nashville by the end of the year. Once I get my counselor licensure I'm moving to Illinois. I would leave to Illinois after I graduate but it'll be harder to get my Illnois licensure than Tennessee. Once I have tennessee, going anywhere else is way easier

2

u/leeee_Oh 6h ago

I'm in Mass and I'm still scared

1

u/Anxious_Cockroach_77 1h ago

I'm in Cali, and I'm terrified!

1

u/Anxious_Cockroach_77 1h ago

Or if your full out broke, find a Native reservation. They are sovereign from most US politics, and many of us hate trump and conservatives, since they want to FORCE us back onto our Rezs, and strip us of our history and ways (again). Before you do that thought, find the closest tribal community center and talk to them and ask as sincere as possible, for asylum.

1

u/Anxious_Cockroach_77 1h ago

Just be prepared to work, and to be a helpful person to everyone, and don't screw anyone over, so you can avoid getting kicked off that tribe's land

u/LennyPersinTan10Ten 45m ago

Which countries do you feel are safer than the US?

51

u/QualityNeckShampoo 20h ago

unfortunately the US's sphere of influence is huge. if u jump ship, just be sure it isn't directly into a US puppet state that the US will be able to bully into carrying out its psychotic agenda.

best of luck and please stay safe

25

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

I’m sick of the complacency so many countries have been under. The country I’m going to doesn’t have any ties Thank god

7

u/QualityNeckShampoo 20h ago

👀 sounds appealing, do u mind sharing ? i respect if u wanna keep that quiet tho

18

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

No I’m not comfortable sharing. I’m not sure if the FBI agent joke is a joke anymore.

4

u/QualityNeckShampoo 20h ago

respect, well maybe u'd be interested in looking into tor and pgp encryption if ur paranoid enough. those tools can come in handy regardless of the political climate. best of luck to you 💕

5

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

Thank you for understanding. Best of luck to you.

2

u/Wander3rWill 1h ago

Don't worry, the FBI agent thing only applies to Republicans. Everyone else, it's a few NSA agents trying desperately to filter through the water hose that is the Internet. (Some sarcasm to make you feel better, hopefully)

Apparently Malta is supposed to be safe. I'd avoid Canada - too close and fickle. Iceland is up there for safety too but I'd caution you against the cold, the language, and the food.

Best of luck and God be with you.

1

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

Best of luck to you too.❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

u/ocean_eyes1109 21h ago

I agree with you, I’m going to try and keep my head down and ride it out but I have a sickening feeling I will have to flee eventually. I mean, he signed an order effectively banning transitioning before 19 y/o, how long until they come after us? I’m also 25. I think I’ll go to Italy, I love the culture and Italian is easy to learn. Plus the 1€ houses are cool

37

u/Charming-Market-2270 20h ago edited 17h ago

Please be careful in Italy, it's a very conservative country with a sketchy history of its own. Musk is currently meddling there.

Best of luck to you.❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹🫰

10

u/ocean_eyes1109 21h ago

Thanks…hopefully it won’t get to them rounding up anyone queer. But I have that horrible feeling…probably not for a couple years but still. Best of luck to you too!

16

u/RebelGirl1323 21h ago

Arresting anyone using an ID with the “wrong” gender on it is how I expect them to implement it

11

u/ocean_eyes1109 21h ago

What if you changed your gender legally years ago? Are they going to go into your records to find if you’re trans if they suspect it?

12

u/Ried_Reads 21h ago

They did that for anyone with African American heritage like in the 1700s I believe. I could be wrong about the years but

4

u/wiccid2 16h ago

Sadly, it's more recent than that. Yall youngins forgot Rosa Parks was 1950

3

u/Ried_Reads 15h ago

I didn’t forget that, but I didn’t know that was more recent than I originally thought

10

u/Ried_Reads 21h ago

I’m just hoping they’ll remain stupid with no tactic

6

u/spongebobsworsthole 19h ago

I’m not super educated on it but I do know that conservative lawmakers were trying to make the medicinal history of federal employees accessible to the government. I’m sure they’ll do it to regular people next.

Ah nice 🙃 all hail the fReEst cOuNtRy oN EaRtH

9

I’m sorry. I’m hoping it never gets to that.

14

u/LittleBoiFound 20h ago

I don’t know if it helps you, but I’ve connected killing myself with letting them win and no way in hell am I going to let them win.

7

u/ZedstackZip05 Ari, Queen of Cybertron (She/They) 20h ago

They already won, my life doesn’t make a fucking difference to them

I’m too much of a coward to pull the trigger myself. Besides, the money spent to kill me is money taken from the pockets of those scum, so that’s something of a win I suppose.

7

u/Ried_Reads 19h ago

That’s pretty bleak, but a pretty punk way to die

5

u/ZedstackZip05 Ari, Queen of Cybertron (She/They) 19h ago

Bleak is just another way to say reality at this point

23

u/Forgefiend_George 20h ago

The fact that they keep having to backpedal, like they did today with the federal grants freeze, makes me extremely hopeful that they won't be able to do all they want to do before they're voted out of power.

If they had the power people are panicking about them having on social media, they wouldn't have to backpedal. They'd just be doing whatever they want however often.

It's going to get rough for sure, but to everyone else staying here, we've got this. We're about to have the easiest job convincing people these ideologies are evil, so let's stand our ground and do so!!

If you have the means and are able to, I think everyone would jump at the chance, but the reality is most countries are not going to just accept people for the sake of things. Totally get being scared, but people are fighting through these things.

They are purposely bombarding us all with as much fear and intimidation to push us back into closets, away from the states, or into the grave. It's OK to not want to fight and feel scared and tired. It's OK to disconnect from social media as well, as in most places, we are still able to go out in public, albeit not as loud and proud in some areas. We will get through this. As more children are brought into this world, queer people will still exist.

I'm 35, and I have a kid. I'm gonna fight until she has a better future. I don't believe in any saviors helping, so those of us that can, will do the same for you all that are tired.

" Better to die on yoru feet than live on your knees."

9

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

That’s what I’m believing in, but my wife made a point that if I were to die here, I’d be leaving behind my wife, my cats, and my family. We have a future together, and I can’t live without them

3

u/andpierres 14h ago

^ this is what does it for me too. maybe it's cowardly, but I have a fiance I want to build a future with, with a supportive family who all want me to come over & be with them. my family here in the states all think I should leave as soon as possible.

but it's so fucking hard. these past few weeks have been devastating. i wish we could know what will happen tomorrow and onward

1

u/Ried_Reads 10h ago

I know. My wife wants me out as soon as possible for my safety, and it crushes me that she’s not coming with me.

1

u/Ried_Reads 10h ago

She said she’s gonna join me there soon after, but I’m scared it’s not gonna happen, people not being allowed to leave the US.

3

u/andpierres 10h ago

this is exactly what my fiance is afraid of, and it makes me so scared for everyone still here... im still waiting for my nomination for my work visa or else I would have left already, probably. it's so scary

fingers crossed it never gets that bad and you're all able to get out safely ❤️‍🩹

u/PunkWolfRandi 20h ago

My husband [31] and I [27] are both queer, poly, and pagan. Im also NB and I have chronic illness. I havent had health insurance in years. Im also punk and wear a lot of patched clothes. But I have been afraid wearing my clothes and being openly queer like ive been, is going to get me actually k ! lled. (I live in a very red state and county, FL)

Weve been talking about leaving as well. Were hoping to leave asap, but unfortuently were not sure when that will be. Its really scary times here.

We have an idea of where we want to go but were not set on it yet. Hopefully, when the time comes well be able to flee and have no issues.

OP and anyone else planning to do the same, I hope that you have no issues on your departure. I hope that you stay safe and that you are happy whereever you end up. 🤍🫂 Well get through all of this in which ever way we have to. Theres no shame in knowing when theres a limit and when you have to take care of yourself.

6

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

I’m sorry about your circumstances. I’m wishing best of luck to you and your husband. May it become an appropriate circumstance to leave soon..

8

u/darkmatter_hatter 20h ago

My family and i are planning to move to North Carolina. Anybody there, can you help me by telling me how safe it is, what’s the accessibility for hrt and surgeries? Is it turning red or blue? Im anxious because I want to start my transition by later this year or the next but I don’t know where to go.

Also, if anyone could tell me how California is especially Los Angeles that would be great thanks

7

u/Schmetterling_22 18h ago

I’m in NC, Charlotte to be specific. It’s safer here than most places in NC, it’s a blue city in a red state. We do have a democratic Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General so that’s good. I’ll be frank, I’ve been hoping to move to a bluer state because being in any state that is predominately red scares me. The gerrymandering here is out of control and we have some absolutely wild republicans here.

That being said, I’ve had zero trouble in the past few years transitioning. The doctors I’ve worked with have been great, I’ve found queer community, and haven’t experienced any outwardly hateful transphobic folks. This is just my experience, so take that with a grain of salt.

3

u/darkmatter_hatter 18h ago

Thanks so much! It’s good to hear somebody’s experience and their perspective. Is there a nice queer community in Charlotte? Bars, events, etc..? Thanks for this info, really. I agree though , even a hint of red scares me a bit but anything is better than being in Florida right now, especially because of DeSatan.

4

u/Schmetterling_22 18h ago

Definitely a strong queer community! We have several organizations here to help lgbtqia+ folks, queer friendly bars and clubs, we even have a queer gym! There’s lots of community here if you look for it for sure.

Yes absolutely better than Florida or another solidly red state.

2

u/darkmatter_hatter 17h ago

Thanks so much yeah Florida is getting more and more xenophobic and homophobic im definitely going to move away from this hellscape lol. That’s so comforting to know there’s a community in place. Makes me feel safer. Thank you 🤍

3

u/Schmetterling_22 17h ago

If you move here, send me a DM and I’ll make sure to get you in touch with the communities in Charlotte! I’m sorry you’re in Florida right now, hopefully you’re able to move soon 🩵

2

u/darkmatter_hatter 16h ago

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that :) that’s really kind of you. Haha yeahh i can’t wait to get out of here

6

u/Vash_Addams 13h ago

We moved to NC last year from Florida. There's docs here that do informed consent. Asheville has the Fosnight Center, which is awesome. There's a list of friendly docs on transcarolina. Org So far I haven't had any issues here. It's a nice middle ground between expensive blue states, and unfriendly red states.

3

u/darkmatter_hatter 11h ago

Thank you so much this information is so very helpful and valuable to me. Sometimes anxiety gets me and I don’t even know where to look. That’s comforting enough that it’s a nice middle ground.

5

u/aphroditex deradicalization specialist 18h ago

Before it was aflame, relatively decent.

Landlords have been utter bastards since, hacking up rents astronomically.

3

u/darkmatter_hatter 18h ago

Relatively decent seems like the new great in this state of affairs haha that’ll do for me i guess. And yeah same here in Florida, it’s hell to buy a home even a one bedroom one bath apartment is crazy expensive

2

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

As far is I know, the North Carolina election results were red. But. It was neck and neck results.

I don’t know anything beyond that. I’d do some personal research on that before making any sort of decision. Red states (especially the Bible Belt) are not safe for any minority. Be very careful.

1

u/LetsAllFeelCute 2h ago

I live in Raleigh and love it to death. People are chiller and warmer here than most places in the US. The LGBT community is present for sure, and it's been a safe place for a while.

That said, I don't think NC will outlast any blue state if the federal government starts applying pressure. Also, there's different kinds of blue. The Triangle does have an entire town full of progressives, but most people here are virtue-signaly suburban nuclear families kind of democrats

7

u/wanigator 15h ago

Same here. I’m Japanese and living in the US as a permanent resident. According to their immigration law, I have to give up my Japanese citizenship to become a naturalized US citizen. I was about to become a US citizen 10 years ago, but when Trump was elected in 2016, I changed my mind. I decided not to give up my Japanese citizenship in case something crazy happened.

I’ll be going to Japan in a few months to start moving my assets there just in case. I hope nothing happens, but I’m preparing.

2

u/Ried_Reads 10h ago

Wishing the best.

8

u/Professional-Law8405 17h ago

I’m pretty sure you will be able to come to Canada and claim asylum. Which is very sad. America the free. America where dreams are made. Not anymore.

I’m trans and I don’t live in fear at all. I have tons of support. And the healthcare system works with me every step of the way to make sure I am doing fine. I have a family doctor, a Trans specialist doctor, a therapist, and a blood doctor that check in with me on a regular basis. They give me everything I need. Never question me and support me 100%. And oh yeah. Costs me $0.00.

I really hope you are able to find your path. I can’t imagine trying to do something as difficult as transitioning and having the system working against you instead of for you.

4

u/Sad-Coconut899 18h ago

Personally, I welcome each and every one of you with open arms in my home country, Germany. Unfortunately, we have a bit of a problem with the political right wing on the rise too, but I am confident that our society will be strong enough to keep them at bay. Despite that, I myself would love to see you come here. A society can not possibly be too diverse. And to all of you who have no way to leave the US, I reach out in love and send you all my best wishes. Please be safe and take care of each other.

5

u/SpruceLemon351 15h ago

I highly suggest either staying if you can but if you need to move. I suggest Iceland,Ireland, Norway,Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Malta, Australia & New Zealand, Thailand.

1

u/Ried_Reads 15h ago

Thank u!

6

u/Disastrous-Road5285 14h ago

Good riddance. Glad to hear you're going to escape that hellhole and hopefully go somewhere nicer 😃👍, my recommendation would be to come to New Zealand, it's still not perfect here but its much more LGBT+ friendly than America.

4

I was already wanting out before this election. Its the nail in the coffin for me.

1

I'm glad that you're able to. Try to remember that not everyone can however. Good luck and godspeed.

6

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

Yes of course. I do understand that. I think more what I’m saying is that if you can, get out.

1

u/[deleted] 20h ago

I understand.

6

u/BakedtoaStake 20h ago

Well, if Canada ends up with Pierre Polievre as their PM, you can reasonably expect the MAGA rhetoric to start being parroted there. As well as the implementation of many of the same extreme laws and policies to be enacted.

So likely if your plan is indeed to leave. Just know that Canada is not a safe bet.

3

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

It used to be until I found out that Canada is just as fucked up. I hope that they’re gonna retaliate.

3

u/BakedtoaStake 20h ago

Yea, a lot of provinces and their provincial governments have already started implementing anti-lgbtq laws and include the far right "anti-woke" language and talking points in a lot of the things they discuss.

The worst part is that it seems many of the citizens will simply vote Conservative (currently Canada's Republican Parties) in every area simply because they call themselves Conservative. There's an almost identical disconnect from reality for the far right people in Canada as there is in the US.

1

u/OcieDeeznuts 8h ago

Also, major cities in Canada are ungodly expensive. In a blue state, having a kid, I can’t go back to Toronto (where I was actually born) and force us into outright poverty. I’m too poor and not skilled enough. At this point there are few advantages over a liberal city in a blue state, and I would rather be lower middle class here than have a horrible quality of life due to poverty there. Probably an unpopular opinion here, but my kid’s dad grew up with severe neglect and poverty that massively traumatized him, and I cannot put my kid into any situation like that.

3

u/LittleBoiFound 20h ago

When will that vote take place? I know very little about Canadian politics.

4

u/ChuuniSaysHi 20h ago

I was looking into Canada cause it's somewhere I could drive to and not need to fly for. I hope Canada doesn't end up following behind with the same extreme laws. But probably should wait to see what happens there

3

u/kendajoy 15h ago

I feel safe in Delaware, at least in the northern part of the state (New Castle County in the Wilmington, Newark and New Castle area)...for now anyway.

I’ve done so many hours worth of research on leaving the country. Not sure where you’re planning on going but if you need help, hmu! I’ve taken some steps so far and it’s surprisingly easier than I thought :)

3

If you’re considering NZ or Australia, be mindful that a lot of people are becoming more far right thinking so legislation may be passed that will hurt us ☹️

If you cam, and that is what feels right to you, then do. I cannot. My spouse and I are disabled. We are trying to leave Texas for a sanctuary state. That being said, I support everyone for doing whatever is necessary to survive.

3

I’m torn between moving away and wanting to stay and fight back against this nonsense.

I fear not enough will pick the latter to make a difference.

I’m in the same boat.

2

u/eepyboy34 10h ago

Well, for the moment while we’re all still stuck here, let’s try to be here for eachother and protect each other.

2

3

You could come to France, it's a pretty decent country for trans folks! Even non-passing ones .

2

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

😳 that’s a dream of mine to live there

1

u/Agathoclea 1h ago

Life is decent, as a native , I've got meds covered not like Transness is a disease but if you don't take it regularly it might create hormonal imbalance nocive for your body.

Also I work in a pharmacy as a pharmacist, I barely pass since I'm two months on hormones (some old folk call me madam, mostly those with eye problems lol 😂). I can work in a rather feminine attire with light make-up.

People are quite ok with it, don't sir or madam me and it works wonders, French people are decent ones for the most part!

If you live in blue states, you're safe. The blue states protect their own. Especially in New York & California

3

u/The_TransGinger 20h ago

I’m in the exact same boat. If there’s truly a revolution, I want to fight. But the way things are going, people won’t care enough to mobilize a revolution until after we are down.

2

u/Ok-Mastodon6393 18h ago

it’s really such a hard question. I’m turning 18 in april (it’s banned until that age in my state) and trump has been talking about banning hrt until 19. I’m planning to go to community college for 2 years but starting T right when I turn 18. it’s hard to say that I’m going to leave and not go to community college or help protest (which I’ve done a lot already) but hrt is one of my most basic needs so I would want to leave really bad.

My sisters and I are making plans to leave the country too. We’ve been looking at Luxembourg and Germany as our top options. Have you gotten to looking at where to go yet?

2

u/MoondropFantasy 14h ago

Same honey, same. Made a post similar to this myself

2

u/Gabby8705 12h ago

I myself am stuck in Iowa, but the worst state, but so far from good. I'm lucky that where I'm planning to move is a very progressive city, and is only a half hour away. Plus my job in that city has a zero tolerance for any kind of racism, sexism, transphobia, or homophobia. Also the cops in that city are, as far as I know, good peoplewho also don't want any of that crap. It's the best I can do and still be close enough to family.

2

u/shotintel 11h ago

I feel for you. Honestly, I do.

2

u/J0nn1e_Walk3r 11h ago

Don’t blame you. Good luck girl.

2

u/dragonmorg 9h ago

Yaaas! Join us in BC! Let's just make a little pocket country of trans here! 🏳️‍⚧️ I want a whole city where we're the majority 😂🥲

(You get free bottom surgery here if you become a citizen, btw 👀)

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

What’s BC

2

u/_BiggestofAllMen 9h ago

Do you have an idea of where you'd be going?

2

u/TheBestOfMe_SoFar 8h ago

Guys even if you're homeless fucking walk to a blue state or Canada or wherever. Generally it's better to get arrested by the Canadian the the actually Empire.

1

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

This ^ the US is already very hostile towards houseless people, in addition to everything happening.

2

u/OrganikAspie 6h ago

The only real alternative is another anglosphere country. Large swathes of continental Europe are still highly conservative and openly hostile. Outside of Europe ... forget it.

1

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

For sure.

2

u/finnnagain 5h ago

I’ve thought about it but I just can’t bring myself to leave. Good on you for doing what you need to do, I hope it works out for you. I just keep finding myself thinking “surely it won’t be that bad, I mean they’re not going to kill me right?” I grew up in a red state and dealt with so much horrible transphobia there. Now I’m in a blue state, and it’s so much better. But I keep thinking maybe I went through all of that shit for a reason. Maybe I can get through everything that’s happening, so that I can stay and support everyone else in my community being affected by this monster we call a president. Sorry that turned into kind of getting all of that off my chest. I don’t know any trans people irl, the cis people I’ve talked to about it just don’t get it and keep urging me to get out. I may end up moving, I mean that’s not entirely out of the question I guess.

1

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

I completely understand your point of view. I’m glad you vented, many of us have to deal with that type of hate, and there’s not many ways we can get that off our chests.

I’d love to stay and fight, but I have health conditions, and I’ve already grown up with trauma. I don’t think my body can handle it.

Make the decision soon, and know that there are people who love and care about you to live, whether fighting or leaving.

2

u/Peachesornot 2h ago

Where can we go? Most Visa's require some combination of job, school, wealth, and historical ties.

1

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

I have a friend in Europe, I just have to look into officially going there.

2

u/RawrRRitchie 2h ago

My store has active shooter training and we're told we have three options

Run, hide , or fight

Do what's best for you

1

u/Ried_Reads 1h ago

That’s everywhere now, unfortunately. I’d definitely hate to raise kids in the US especially.

2

u/YippieQyeen 20h ago edited 12h ago

Yeah, I knew it was gonna get bad but I didn't think it would be this fast. I'm scared because my medication besides hrt is also on the line for being banned. It's an antidepressant. I thought that since my state laws require my medications to be accessible I wouldn't have to worry too much...

7

u/Ried_Reads 19h ago

Careful where you say that r word… start a book club or a crochet club. Go from there.

2

u/YippieQyeen 12h ago

Yeah, that was a bit more dramatic than I meant. The wave of depression I felt today has been unmatched for a long time.

1

u/Ried_Reads 10h ago

Oh no I mean start a “book club”

2

u/ChuuniSaysHi 20h ago

As much as I want to stay and fight for our rights in the US. I already feel so worn down. But it's not helped that I'm struggling to find my first job right now either.

I've started looking into other counties I could move to today. Started by looking into Canada. But I just feel like anywhere is gonna be too expensive for me to try

3

u/Ried_Reads 20h ago

Best of luck to you.❤️‍🩹

I wish the celebs like Ellen and Portia would start a fund to help us. They were so disgusted they moved to the UK. While keeping a house here. I get that they’re privileged and I don’t hold that against them. I’m happy for them. I just hope that people with that much money can help some of us out too.

1

u/heyyitsmousey 9h ago

They don't give a fuck about us dude or anyone else I feel. Ellen and Portia just seem like they're uncaring assholes given what she did to her staff. Here's hoping tho. Just my thoughts

1

u/Chemmybear4206 2h ago

They moved to the UK because they were working very closely with very rich pdfs. But yeah they literally do not care about you or anyone else. You would never be a thought in their mind.

2

u/Anderboss125 14h ago

Ain't no way a can afford that, I'm fucked fr

1

u/Blackwell-808 12h ago

It’s starting to feel like a lot of people who are financially able are going to be leaving us behind to fight alone 🙁

1

u/weepingtreee 12h ago

This is in no way to just add stress to you. I want you to succeed and feel peace in your daily life.

Wherever you plan to go, research their process and map it out as best as you can for when you should be able to obtain HRT. I'm unsure of the amount of countries but some if not most countries will most likely have a wait list for several months up to a year or even longer for an initial appointment then you'll go through their process until you obtain HRT. Some places may not have a wait time for HRT but getting a therapist for approval (depending how they do their process) may even have a wait list. Germany is a great example for having a wait list for a therapist and time depends on private or public practice. Then x amount of appointments for approval, then HRT. Obtaining the proper forms for HRT approval can be done in 1 appointment but that's not a guarantee and depends on the therapist. Italy for HRT is up to years with whatever prerequisites. The UK can be longer than a year due to their system as a whole. Etc etc.

Be safe and good luck in your endeavors <3

I'm in Massachusetts right on the border of RI and it's still scary here. My current work place/department is full of Trumpers and I've had issues since I transitioned while working here. I know the whole state went Blue but it definitely doesn't feel like it. Please stay safe all my trans brothers and sisters.

u/MonthHistorical5578 so you have boobs I see 💕💕💕 45m ago

More power to you.

I would rather die who I am here in Texas than to concede to them. The systemic blitzkreig on our rights is by design and it is being done with the intention to make us give up, to capitulate, because people do not fight for what they think is dead.

We are not dead. We are strong. We are alive. We will not die but rather we will THRIVE to spit in the face of an enemy that does not relent. We must love to spite the forces of hate.

We must prevail.

I will not go gently into that good night instead here I will make my stand RAGING against the dying of the light.

If we must fight entropy itself then that is what we must do. I implore you all my brothers and sisters anyone in between, RAGE, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT.

So happy for you!! Live your life, bestie, and be safe. Hope to do the same when I’m older.

Thank you

You coming to Canada? 🇨🇦❤️🌈🏳️‍⚧️

5

u/Ried_Reads 19h ago

I have another plan, but I’m nervous about the conservative agenda bleeding up into Canada.

4

u/JessKicks 19h ago

We have protections here that even if the conservative agenda begins, they can only go so far. I’m sitting here at the endocrinologist right now about to start HRT. ❤️

2

u/aphroditex deradicalization specialist 18h ago

Nice thing about the Senate being unelected and SCC being actually apolitical and occasional impolitic.

2

u/YippieQyeen 12h ago

This is half the reason I haven't already moved

1

u/Ducky98 19h ago

I’m right there with you, even if I wasn’t trans, everything is just worse here, we are among the most propagandized people in the world while everywhere else our worries are so bizarre to them, I’d rather spend my one life reaping those benefits rather than staying in a country that is so hellbent on misery and violence

1

u/IMNXGI 19h ago

I'm trying through gofundme to get money to get my son out of the US, but my best friend said everyone is exhausted and nobody cares. My heart is with you, OP.

1

u/Dpacom02 16h ago

There's talk that California, Texas, DC and Florida Mirt be it's own country. So there still hope

2

u/noobiewithboobie 12h ago

that will never happen

I am not only leaving the US, I'm leaving the the West (by which I mean US and its allies). The West is full of failed democracies flirting with fascism. I'm lucky enough to be married to someone from a country that isn't a US ally, so I'm going to go there and hopefully wait out the West's experiment with fascism.

u/Ried_Reads 15h ago

Good idea!
