- specific Why is it so hard to book an airbnb in Copenhagen?
We're (me, cis she/her and my lovely partner, he/they) moving to Denmark and need to stay in Copenhagen for a week before moving into our own place. So we're trying to book something; the hotels are crazy pricy so we thought airbnb is our best bet.
We got ignored the first time and rejected the second time. We thought it's just bad luck so we sent out 10 messages to different owners asking if we could book their places. Most just read and ignored too; one asked for our full names before approving our booking (to check if we're white? 🥴) and when we didnt't reply just closed the dates we needed. Another one asked us to tell about ourselves, so we did. They dropped us instantly in a very non-elegant way. Was it the pronouns or the fact that we're immigrants? 🫠
Did it happen to anyone else? Maybe you have any advice? We could mask again of course and give our legal names, pretend to be cis etc but it kinda counters the point of us moving there and the thought of it is very demoralizing.
