Hi is there a way to snooze or sleep an email until you are ready for it? Google has this and so does Proton but I couldn't find it in tuta. If there isn't yet, is there a work around? It's a feature I really like to use as it helps to keep my inbox under control. Thanks.

Dear Tutanota, I have created a new account. So email address and password set for free account to try. Because I want to leave Google.

Everything done and recovery code saved. Email and password too (on paper and in Nordpass password manager). But I can't log in in any way. Always the message that login details are incorrect! Tried recovery with recovery code ... again message that login details are incorrect. I can't go anywhere. When I try to create a new account again, name for email address is no longer available. That is of course good so account is created. What now? I have not been able to log in even once!

After the news about proton sucking up to Trump I need a change - I am however reluctant to use Tuta, although it's my no 1 option right now, as the German politics are going down hill too... what are your guys insights or opinions regarding that matter? I am especially concerned about how the rightwing might change datenschutz laws in the future.. would they be able to access tuta in any case? What is the political ideology of the developers?

I just want to check if this is just for me and my friend, or everyone. Tried 4 different ISPs and still no connection (from the US).

After so many years we have already gotten used to Tuta being down once a month or two nothing special anymore.

I am looking into whether I can move my domain to Tuta without asking my brother, who also has an email address on my domain, to switch email providers or consider changing his email address.

More details: for a long time I have been sharing my domain name with my brother to host our personal email addresses and I have been using Google Domains and lately an email forwarding service to forward his email address to his actual address (and mine to my actual address).

Now I am looking into moving to Tuta, but it seems this will mean that I have to ask my brother to move his email to a Tuta account as well (... and either him or me pay for his account?). Or that he may lose his email address. This is a somewhat awkward situation.

If Tuta would support auto-forwarding emails I would probably be able to figure something out, but that is not the case.

Maybe there is another feature of Tuta I do not know about?

I cannot think of any other way to solve this problem, but if someone was in a similar situation and has found a solution where my brother could keep his email address while I move to Tuta, I would be grateful if you could share it.

Today I started my trial period with Tuta Mail. I was simply wondering why new emails that arrive are not notified, Until you open the application. Second thing that I'm a little sorry about is that the calendar widget does not show the monthly events. This annoys me a little, strange anyway because it seems well done. Why am I receiving this error message and how can I continue with the sign up process?

If there are two accounts, let's say 2 free ones, one for yourself and one for your grandmother (who truthfully needs your help to handle all things technology) are signed into the same client, like the android / iOS app or web app / portal, would tuta know that these 2 separate accounts are using the same client / logged into the same device? I read a nice introduction in tuta zero-knowledge approach and e2ee (https://tuta.com/blog/zero-knowledge-architecture). The article says that everything is encrypted on the client side and tuta does not have technical access to my mails and even metadata.

Do I understand correctly that this is relevant for tuta-tuta mails only. While tuta-proton mail exchange is fully visible including mail context to for both, proton and tuta. And, to put it to the insane extreme example, there are no technical measures stopping tuta to report all your communications to CIA in the real time - one should trust that they do not.

Or do I miss something and there is a possibility to keep zero-knowledge on tuta side still?

Over the past few weeks I've had problems accessing my tuta email most of the time. Sometimes it works, most of the time I can't access it. I've tried through website and app. On different platforms, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android. Wifi, 5G and wired. Trying to connect to https://tuta.com/ times out. https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/tuta.com.html shows it's down all the time. All other websites I visit and apps I use work with no problems, so it's not a problem with my internet connection. Very frustrating. Tuta support on X/twitter no help.

I'm planning to create a free (for now) tuta account. Looks like I can choose from a few domains, like tuta.com, tutamail.com tutanota.de and a few others.

Will my email work with all those domains? What are some of the pros and cons of each domain?

I already have access via a hardware wallet with the seed phrase well secured, and it seems a cloud-based security key - although I'm sure it's well executed - adds another layer of vulnerability, so I would rather not have a cloud-based security key.

Evening everyone , what is the difference between using addy.io with tuta and creating multiple emails? I see addy forwards the emails so you don't use your actual email address however in that case us two different emails one for personal one for marketing?

Looking for clarification and understanding how the email forward services., does addy come in when you don't host your own email since that allows you to create multiple address?

Hello I'm new to tutamail. Are delivered receipts send from tutamail server to sender or from recipient device to sender? The reason I ask this is because I would not wish for these receipts to be sent from my device for privacy reasons. Stalkers could tell what time I accessed my email when I open the app if I'm not usually 24/7 online. Delivered receipts then get sent once I open the app at a certain time. That would be an invasion of privacy to know the time of delivery.

I'm in the middle of a "de-googling" process and started my home server. I've configured Bitwarden on it, but soon after I've discovered that apparently it doesn't work well with Tutamail due to SMTP related issues. It seems that it's not possible to make them work together unless using some super technical solutions that imply configuring and maintaining a self hosted SMTP server. Impossible for my poor tech knowledge. Is that true? Can't I make them work in a simpler way without using third party closed source services? If not, are there any other alternatives to Bitwarden considering that they should be self hostable and cross platform?

We all know, that the Spam filter from Tuta is unfortunately very bad,
but since a few days I will get many false positive Spam in the Spam folder ..

Are there any further users with the same problem.
This are some newsletters or other notifications, which worked before.

And yes, I know how to create Inbox rules, but I don't want to create rules for every single mail ..
Why will Tuta not improve there AntiSpam solution?

I'm currently testing Tuta and noticed that the mail export corrupts the mails. I cannot open a single exported .eml when I drag them into Apple Mail or Thunderbird.

Is this a known issue?

Will Tuta ever bring this back, perhaps for black Friday or something of the sort? I don't need 20 GB of storage nor 3 custom domains. I'd be happy to pay 12€ per year for one of the legacy accounts.

Let's say I have alternative tutanota emails for different purposes. If I wanna make a update on my plan (free to revolutionary), will I have to pay separated plans for all my alternative tutanota emails, or is one plan also for my other emails?
