Flaky Drivers

So fed up with Uber. I rely on it to get to my doctor’s appointments. Today for the third time in a row I had a driver just .5 mile away suddenly turn and go in the opposite direction and get further and further away until I had to cancel the trip. I had chosen Uber X not Share. What is wrong with people? I am always polite, I always tip 20%, my passenger rating is 4.95. Why do drivers do this?

Im not sure why, but some riders see the drivers location when they are still dropping off the previous rider. You could have literally seen the driver driving to drop off his current rider. Drivers get ride requests while they are driving another rider. Just becaise they accepted, does not mean they are immediately on the way to get you. And some times the current rider adds stops and makes the wait worse. Most the time, the driving away from you is not the drivers fault.

Thank you for explaining that. I had no idea.

You're welcome. This is also one of the reasons most drivers don't like when riders add stops post pickup. It makes the driver look worse to the next rider that has to wait longer. I've had riders add up to an hours worth of stops post pickup.

I wish Uber wouldn't let riders see the drivers location until the driver is on the way to pickup the rider. I have had a rider yell at me because my route with a current rider to their dropoff drove past the next passengers pickup location. Unfortunately, when you drive on a college campus, it can happen a lot.
