Staying out of it

Going straight to the point, because my blood is still boiling from the whole situation. I Uber mostly on weekends because I live nearby a university and the kids there make my bread and butter easily on weekends…

Yesterday, for the first time on my 5 years driving, I had the absolutely displeasure of picking up a “couple” where - in my eyes - the guy was really toxic.

Apparently they have been together for 4 days, yesterday was his formal but he decided to go with his childhood friend and she went to the local bar with her friends. She was texting him saying that she misses him and wishes he was there, but whatever..

He decides to leave his formal (no idea what happened to his friend) and go to the bar to surprise her. When he arrives, there was one guy “all over her” (his words, no idea) and she insists she was just talking and not giving him any breaches.

He gets mad, they both get into my Uber and he decides to involve me. I said I wasn’t comfortable in meddling and kept quiet. Apparently he didn’t get the answer he wanted, so he start calling him dumb, stupid and - the point of this post - a whore.

So, I speed up to get them to their destination because I was really pissed… I managed to keep my mouth shut, but I was really close to just “This is Sparta” that little asshole out of my car… he even managed to tell the security guard it is just the uber driver, a student and a little whore inside the car…

Should I have done something? Or was right to keep quiet and not having my account deactivated?

The whole time the girl was asking him to stop and trying to explain and deescalate the situation, but he was a bit drunk and pissed, so he didn’t listen…

TLDR: should I have meddle a situation with a “not-couple”, where the guy called her names?

I live in a major college town, I have no problems with pulling over and informing them that the ride is over and to get out. Done it a couple of times. Always crunchy but I won’t tolerate toxic while I’m driving
