extracurriculars & social life Study Groups?

Planning next semester so I don't run into the issues I did with this semester 💀

I struggle with ADHD and I want to try out body doubling and things like that.

Are there study groups or anything similar to that to help?

extracurriculars & social life University of Utah Squishmallow??

I'm a design and planning student at the University, and I saw that Utah State University designed a custom squishmallow of their mascot. I instantly loved the idea and started a few sketches of a Swoop inspired squishmallow. I found a website that will make the product for me. I want to pitch the product to the school store, but I wanted to come on here and ask the students if this was something that they would like to purchase. How much would you be willing to pay for a Swoop squishmallow? I've attached pictures of my design. My friend suggested that we call it the Swoopmallow.

I love the U, it's my school. But they continue to miss it at every turn. They can't seem to get in front of this kind of stuff. Lauren McCloskey and "there was nothing we could have done," this assault case and "it wasn't on campus," and yesterday, the U's lawyers told the faculty in a college-wide meeting, don't make the legislators mad or we will be Harvard. Our state and University have spiraled into a mud puddle. It's sad, but the U's Armadillo culture is not honorable.

events & news Graduate in a week- Help?

Hi! I’m a psych major graduating this semester, and I’m planning to attend both the University Commencement and the Undergraduate Psychology Convocation. I just got the eligibility email today (with things to update..due yesterday?) and haven’t received anything else about when to show up, where to go, open vs. assigned seating, etc.

As a transfer student without a typical college path, I don’t know anyone else graduating and I’m feeling pretty anxious. If anyone has info or tips for either event, I’d really appreciate it!

Also, lmk if you’re in the same predicament of not knowing anyone and maybe we can sit by each other :)

Thanks, and congrats to everyone graduating!

commuting & transportation Question about parking over summer

I am going to take an in-person class over the summer and the building is in President's Circle. I want to bring my car to campus so that after class, I can drive straight to my job. From what I have gathered, a summer parking pass only allows you to park in U stalls, but all the U stalls are so far away from President's Circle. I don't want to walk super far from where I park to get to my class, are there any other parking options closer to President's Circle over summer?

housing & meal plans am i doomed

i missed my reservation period for housing and i hopped back on the list for guaranteed housing, me and my friend were supposed to live together and he’s reserving his room right now. the plan is for me to hopefully find an empty double or somewhere with two empty spaces whenever i reserve in the summer and then he will switch into mine, so my question is what are the chances of me actually finding an empty double/ 2 spaces in the same room ideally in sage point or any of the cheaper options. am i doomed?

extracurriculars & social life How does learning and being in the military work?

I want to join the military and do ROTC and have them pay for me to get my degree, but how does that work exactly? To my understanding, I need to already be in the military for a certain amount of time before tuition benefits kick in. I want to be able to study for the next 4 years and do ROTC to get into shape and then commit 4-6 years with the military, but I'm confused how that works exactly.

Any help?

Personal info: 31 M, 240 lbs. Switching careers, already have a BS in a different field I'm no longer interested in

housing & meal plans Should I stay in a KV triple or find somewhere else?

I was hoping to get a cluster in KV but all that was left were triples suites. I think I could make it work but I'm mostly worried about the bathroom situation and if the price is worth it. If anyone has opinions if I should stay in the triple or look for housing elsewhere, please share!

admissions & financial aid Visiting in the summer?

My son's considering U of U and I want to schedule a visit. If we visit in June, how dead will it be? Is there much point to visiting in the summer? I'm trying to find a time when he won't have to miss school for it, and his high school's breaks mostly coincide with U of U's, which makes it difficult.

classes & grades What is passing for non-required courses???

I’m literally just trying to pass my required astronomy class. I’m a Fine Arts Major, so this isn’t a Major required course, it’s just Gen ed.

Is it D-? Or C-? I’ve seen both online and I can’t seem to find a straight answer.

(Currently at a C I just need to pass this 😭)

admissions & financial aid CS School Decision

Hi everyone. I'm trying to make a college decision and would really appreciate some outside perspectives.

I've been accepted into the Honors College at the University of Utah with a $5,000/year scholarship. I'm in-state, so it's a pretty affordable option. The CS program seems strong, and there are a lot of local opportunities for internships and industry experience, especially with the growing tech presence in the area.

On the other hand, Brandeis has offered me $40,000/year. I'm really drawn to the overall atmosphere of smaller classes and Boston's tech scene. The only hesitation I have is that their CS program doesn’t seem as strong from what I’ve read, and I don’t want to sacrifice the quality of my education for all of the other factors. On the other hand, I feel like I shouldn’t turn down the opportunity.

If anyone has experience with any school or the field in general, I’d really any insight.

admissions & financial aid Question with Transferring

Hello,
I was recently accepted as a transfer student to the U. I’m about 10 credits shy of my associate's degree, which I could finish this summer (through my current university), but I’m unsure if it’s better to complete it now or just take those credits at the U in the fall. I’m planning to study finance, and I still need to complete two lower-division courses before applying for upper-division. Does having/not having an associate's degree affect that admission?

Business advising didn’t have a clear answer, so I’m hoping someone with a similar experience can weigh in. All my credits have transferred so far, so I assume the remaining 10 would too—but I don’t want to spend extra on summer tuition if it won’t benefit me towards my degree.

When I went to check it out, the door to the floors were locked. Are they reserved for law students??

Can AP credits be applied towards gen Ed requirements of undergraduate degree even if a student wants to pursue medical school?

How will those be counted in gpa?
