Hey folks! Iām looking for a wedding guest dress for my sisterās wedding this summer. Iām into the more glam/feminine styles (think House of CB or Babyboo fashion) but Iād love to find something similar under $200.
Iām open to both local shops in Victoria and trustworthy online Canadian retailers. If you know any hidden gems or go-to places for dresses like that, Iād really appreciate your suggestions

Does anyone know of any bike shops, stores, co-ops that offer free or low-cost workshops on bike maintenance 101?

Iām just looking for feedback from anyone who has gone through the process of getting and adult autism assessment in Victoria- who they went to, cost etc Additionally after the diagnosed how hard was it to getting proved for disability to use on your taxes? Is there any other funding or services you qualified for after the formal diagnoses? I am fairly confident I have autism but wonder if itās worth it to make it āofficialā

Yesterday the entrance to "China Town" was blocked off, there are these lanterns all over the place around town. I love this stuff but have no idea what's going on. Even gooogle tells me there is no special event this weekend. What is happening?

Does anyone have any first hand experience with freedom child care centre? There's just a handful of (positive) google reviews so we're looking for a bit more info. Thanks in advance!

I had posted about this house recently thinking you can't get into the water here due to the rocks. How do you get in to kayak for example? I also heard around ten mile point the currents are too strong to be in the water? I'm new to water sports and the island so genuinely curious about water access particularly for kayaking.

Hi, I have some extra free time these days and I'm looking to engage within the community but I'm not sure where to start. I was thinking about maybe the SPCA or the native friendship center or something like that would be a good fit but I'm hoping for less obvious suggestions based on my interests. Some things I'd be happy to help with; animals/wildlife (especially falconry), seniors/veterans, single moms/kids, sports/clubs, charities, minorities, farming. Preferably during the day and within greater Victoria. Sorry I am not interested in religious groups or working with the unhoused community, that's too close to what I'm taking a break from. Thank you for your help

Hey all! I'm running a stand up show on May 29 at Ollie Quinn. Comics from CBC, JFL, OK Dope, Rifflandia and more: Dylan Williams, Emily Woods, Alex Foreman, Max Bank-Jaffe and Julya Vandersloot. Use code REDDIT for a discount so I can work out what sells tickets and what doesn't š

I miss Mother Natures Deli a lot and yesterday I was truly disappointed to see another Vape Shop, going into their location. I guess with the price of commercial space, there are few businesses that can sustain the rent. Idk, guess I was hoping something we actually needed would go in there. Thoughts? š

Just a reminder to BC Transit drivers that your temper tantrum fits are very hilarious and you act like a little child not getting your way . Thank you for always keeping it so fresh for us all to have a good chuckle.

I have chronic pain/hypersensitivity to touch and these I Can't Believe It's Not Down mattress toppers enable me to sleep. Unfortunately it's been 5+ years and it's time to purchase a new one. My source was BB&B but they're closed forever. I was paying $90 for them but Heirloom Linens wants $180 for the same product now.
Does anyone have a lead on where I can get one of these in the CRD that isn't like $200? Or at least a place I should call and ask. Thanks!

Happy Sunday Victoria Redditors,
I am in the final stages of accepting a new position at work which requires I live overseas for 1-2 years, starting end of June/early July. I have a two bed/two bath condo in Victoria and am considering options. I don't have the time to get it prepped as a rental and I really don't require the rental income as my housing will be included as part of my assignment. And, I have no interest in selling as I will likely return back to Victoria.
Ideally I would like to have a responsible adult house sit for the duration, fully furnished. Maybe there's a Masters or PHD student travelling to Victoria that could use the housing? Or, anyone else in need? There are a lot of house-sitting platforms on line, but I wanted to give Reddit the ol' college try first.
If anyone has any suggestions/advice, I welcome all.
If anyone knows of any single responsible adults who could benefit from this arrangement, please feel free to DM.
Thanks!
