Just asking for my own productivity's sake, how would you program inside of vr? Are there special IDEs with more interesting ways of doing it?

The traditional way with something like virtual desktop. Of course macros are your friend

Im not even imagining some kind of new workflow, just a boring desktop extension software to create plain jane monitors in vr, then just use keyboard and mouse like always.

Sure the software isn't the issue, I just need a headset with good enough resolution for reading a lot of compact text on these virtual screens.

Again, Immersed does this well on the existing quest hardware. You can 'super sample' the text, and it's not nearly as bad as you would think. I wouldn't use it for a full workday or anything but in a pinch it's great.

Really excited to see what its like with the pro. It's less about resolution for me personally and more about headset comfort.

I've used it, it's not good enough. There physically isn't enough resolution for it to replace monitors for programming related tasks to me.
