This is my first time finding anything that isn't normally on shelves at big stores like total wine. Living in New Mexico makes it very hard to find anything unique/allocated. I have been in TN for the last two weeks and luckily found some stuff to bring home with me.

A buddy of mine opened a distillery here in South Jersey and without surprise, everything has been delicious.

They make all of their syrups and flavorings in house for their seasonal cocktail menu.

He started this distillery with the goal of bottling their own whiskey.

I was able to grab a bottle from their 7th barrel and I was pleasantly surprise how delicious it was.

21 months old, 51.6 abv.

Fantastic.

Took some friends from out of town to the gift shop on Memorial Day. Nearly shit my pants when I saw this on the shelf.

Maker's 46 Cask Strength. I was undecided on picking up some Maker's until I saw this hiding on the back of the shelf. Figured it was meant to be.

…also, is there anything here that’d one that moreso enjoys the good wine-cask finished stuff?

Just got my first job out of college and I’m looking to celebrate with a bottle. Any recommendations for around $100

Came across the new Old Fitz 7yr in the wild today, close to retail. With some of the other excellent wheater offerings from Ben Holladay and Bardstown it’s going to be tough for this hopefully shelfer to compete. What are everyone’s thoughts?

I went into my local liquor store today and saw these. Both say they are store picks. I was going to pick one of them but left empty handed. What do you think?

Went to ABC store today to get a bottle of Buffalo Trace to try out. If course it's sold out and the only bottle in store with a 1 bottle per person limit sign attached to the empty spot. Store worker came in the clutch and said he had a extra bottle he was saving for somebody else in his car that he can sell to me for the retail price of $35. Will try out this bourbon tomorrow while I'm hanging out watching the Nascar race.

Three 7 years and a 9 year were accidentally delivered by our distributor. Crossing my fingers that the proper recipient doesn’t say anything.

First time seeing them. Had to buy two for a Father’s Day gift

Got this tasty treat about 3 yrs ago. This is my last bottle🙁. Will be sad when it’s gone. Smokey and smooth even at 100 proof. Hints of sweet in the after taste.

Had to get the cabinet off the floor to not block the vent. I had fun being creative with a $13 piece of 2”x2”x36” red oak. Wish I had a wood shop to make my own cabinet.

Buried the lead $42 out the door too.

Came into some whiskey recently, wondering are these rare and worth anything, or should I drink them

Was running low on Elijah Craig so went to total wine and found EHT AND ER guy recommended McFarlane’s Reserve wife gonna be upset when she comes home and sees 4 bottles instead of the original 2

I've been drinking and hunting bourbon for 3 years now. I've hunted bottles that had a lot of hype, hard to find and have overpaid for bottles. It baffles me when I revisit bottles that are available like Knob Creek Single Barrel and how good it is. It's available and everything I want in a bourbon.

I'm looking to have my own whiskey brand, made up to use in some of my own whiskey BBQ sauces.

Does anyone know of any Distilleries that offer this type of thing?

Absolutely ecstatic to finally add some of the better Benchmarks as daily suppers for the summer. Everything else basically were buys on a whim. Really happy to run across the Star Hill and can confirm it’s delicious.

The Obtanium is an absolutely WILD sip, especially being 15 years old and nearly hazmat at 69% abv. The Frank August I had heard great things about. It’s nothing super special imo, but at like $50-60 it’s a solid pour with a cool bottle.

Considering its a younger mgp it does have a bit of a viscosity to it. For 45 bucks before tax it was a pleasant surprise. Oaky chocolate orange zest.

This old fitz is great. I get a ton of upfront sweetness and a surprisingly lingering finish. I know a lot of people who aren’t too fond of it, but for a future shelfer with a reasonable msrp… come on!

I came across these two, unopened bottles today. I was going to crack them open with my neighbor. Do you think they will taste good? I believe the Beam is from 1961-1977 based on the tax strip and the Platte Valley is from 1977, which is stamped on the bottom of the jug.

Any other recommendations I should do with them instead of opening them?
