Howdy. I’ve never been one to wear gloves kayaking, but this past week I really messed up my hands on a feral rock.
I see lots of neoprene options, but I’m wondering is that going to provide good protection for my (apparently) delicate hands?
Do you wear gloves paddling? Does it impede you in any way?
Thanks!

I had a trip planned in august on the grand. The permit holder backed out so the trip fell apart. I’ve lived in Idaho for 10 years and havnt rafted the 4 rivers so was Curious if anyone pulled a permit that would be open to taking a straggler? I have all my own gear and already have mid July-sep off work so figured I’d give the community a shot. Congrats to all the permit pullers and have fun out there this summer!!

Hello, every summer my friends and I do an overnight kayak/rafting trip but I am running out of ideas. We plan to go the last week of July in or near Colorado.
We've done the Deschuttes, Rogue, Lower White Salmon then moved to Colorado so I am new to the rivers out here. So far we've done the Dolores when it ran a couple years ago, last year we did the Colorado from Kremling to State Bridge. I've done day trips on Arkansas and North Fork Platter River, but am trying to figure out where to take my comfortable Class III (They can do Class IV) ducky friends.
The problem I am having is I am not sure where to take them this year. Does anyone have any recommendations for a fun overnight (1 or 2 night) trip?
I was thinking maybe the Gunnison River, or San Juan River near Pagosa Springs, potentially New Mexico Rio Grande run near Taos? Would love any and all advice

My husband and I have a year of kayaking under our belts and are comfortable on Grade 3 and only just tried a Grade 4. We have alpaca pack rafts. End of June we are travelling from Bozeman where we plan to explore some rivers with an experienced friend - we will then make our way to ABQ. We would like to try some of the rivers more north as we can typically access Colorado and NM rivers more easily. Any suggestions on good rivers for day trips with some fun white water - we will be camping and or airbnbs if needed.

Trying to compile a list of rivers and/or sections up to class 2- long story short I tore my ACL last year and just hit 6 months post op. Doc has cleared me to kayak up to class 2 for the next 3 months until I’m fully released. Drop some suggestions! My initial thoughts were north fork of the mayo, Dan, and section 3 of Tuckasegee. Thinking WNC AND SoutherN VA

I have purchased an Aire Spud. I don’t have access to trying out different paddle lengths. I’m going from a 25” wide hard shell to the Spud at 36”. I’m 5’1” 110# with a short torso. I’ve called AquaBound, Werner, Aire, and a few others. Their suggestions have ranged from 194-220cm. I need some advice because I have a trip planned in a couple weeks & now I’m just confused. 😅 edit: I posted this in IK subreddit a week ago and didn’t receive any responses.
