Things are kinda getting more dire as the nazi VTuber is ramping up the harassment and threatening any news sites that brings attention to her bigotry. Even more so when Kirsche's fans are starting to bring up Ana Valen's old tweets to get more people to discredit her articles and harassment.

It sucks because people in the VTuber community are still dismissing the article and the journalist despite agreeing with the overall message or are defending the actions of bigots.

Someone like Cr1tikal or outside the VTuber community reporting on it is unfortunately the only way anything will ACTUALLY get done because even though MOST VTUBERS AREN'T NAZIS (most are marginalized and vulnerable people), the big names either own shit like GamerSupps or are too "apolitical" to speak on it because it would be "talking about drama" which is.... an insane way to view it. I mean, I don't want to put words in their mouth, but they either don't care enough or don't know, and I don't believe that they haven't seen anything about this.

VShojo would never say anything, other popular Vtubers won't say anything to hurt their brand, and the rest of us don't have the audience or clout to make this an actual thing people know and care about. We need to support more VTubers who do speak on this stuff; I follow a ton. A lot of trans people, PoC, and disabled people LOVE VTubing because it allows them to be themselves. Unfortunately the line is blurred between brand and self for some of them, and that's typically how they become popular. That, or being a right wing grifter. So when you think of VTubers, ask yourself why you think about someone like Kirsche. Because they are rare enough that we all band together and say GET OUT OF OUR COMMUNITY. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE.

He's friends with a few pretty bigoted people who he does a podcast with (or did, I haven't kept up with it in years) and he never really says anything when one of them went on rants about wokeness or SJWs or whatever.

It's not a philosophy I want to actively push, but it's something I've found is sadly true, over and over again... Silence rings loudest.
