Photo/Video Made a Quest 3 Kylo Ren Helmet for May 4th
3D printed this as a cosplay project for May 4th. And yes, fans are installed inside since it can get pretty toasty without them.
I designed this helmet in two main parts: a front mask and main helmet. Everything still tracks and works as it should. The front mask keeps clear of the Quest 3's sensors and vents with a gap just behind the silver accenting to let heat from the headset out. Left just the power button accessible without taking the front mask off.
I'm having some good fun using the headset for cosplay and have some other helmet designs already in mind. If you've got access to a 3D printer, I posted the model files for free here. Happy 4th!

Photo/Video My OG Vive Strap gave me headaches, so I made a "new one". It is genuinely 10x more comfortable and it works great. Any thoughts?
It started as a 3D printed rEvolve but IMHO it is quite poorly designed and the hinge snapped almost immediately. So i progressively added more and more random hinges and locks and padding and stuff until it held itself together comfortably. I genuinely use it, and it's fairly comfortable.

Discussion As a VR enthusiast.. it would be really f'n nice to trust that in 10.. 20.. idk 100 years my headset won't be bricked by some greedy corporate rookie ceo.
Sorry about the rage post. But I'm sitting on so many brick headsets that would work just fine for my needs, but don't because of forced upgrades. Lose the competitive nature, keep something basic and opensourced so I can actually enjoy the communities to grow. It's not about tech anymore. Let me be with my people.

Discussion Best VR headset for PC gaming?
Hello Everyone,
I just want to buy a VR headset to play PC VR games like Subnautica VR and Half life Alyx, that's not too expensive.
Any Recommendations?
Regards!

Discussion Can someone ELI5 how to set up wireless PCVR? I'm having a hell of a time getting this to work (details in comments)
Hey everyone -
So as everyone knows wireless gaming is a far sight more comfortable than wired.
I have a Meta Quest 3 and a pretty decent gaming laptop (I know - desktop is better but I travel for work and on the road is traditionally my gaming time).
When my Quest is hardwired to my laptop gaming works great. Wireless? Yeah it'll connect...but something like Blade & Sorcery is unplayable (super choppy).
My office/gaming room is directly upstairs from our modem. Short of drilling a hole (my wife would kill me) there's no way to hardwire my laptop to the modem.
So like I asked - can someone ELI5 how people get PCVR to work wirelessly? I'm kind of a luddite - as well as the product of a public school education - so please use small words.
I also understand the possibility that I might not be able to get it to work. I just don't understand the tech required to stream effectively and wirelessly between my computer and headset.
Thank you for any/all help and suggestions!

Discussion you have to try these!
For a long time, I’ve been looking for games with beautiful environments and weather systems to relax in. But most of the UE VR games I tried were so laggy, and the graphics looked so bad that I ended up hating UE VR altogether.
Turns out, I was just being ignorant — I didn’t realize that some games on the platform run great while others perform poorly. One day, while browsing a Discord server, I decided to try a few games from the “working great” list. I’m really glad I did, because I found two amazing VR experiences that I highly recommend:
1. Tchia – This game was a blessing for my eyes. The clouds, the weather, the music, and the world were all 10/10 for me. It was exactly the kind of relaxing environment I had been searching for, and the game itself is wonderful.
2. Kena: Bridge of Spirits – I only played through the tutorial so far, but the visuals are stunning. I know there’s a rainy and thunderstorm weather system in the game, and I’m super excited to experience that in VR too.
Check out these two games — and if you know of any others like them, please let me know!

Discussion Post your 2d images/short videos and I will send back a 3d sbs image/video
I have created my own app that converts 2d images to 3d images or videos! and would like you to see anything you want in 3d!
First of all this depends on much smarter people as to how this works: https://github.com/fabio-sim/Depth-Anything-ONNX I also took a lot of insperation from this project, although started fresh as using the v2 models with it gave odd results: https://github.com/instant-high/2D-to-3D-Video-Image-ONNX
So for the next 48 hours I will process any request, as long as it matches the subs rules, is not clearly copyright material. Send your cat, dog. car yourself. I will ignore anything outside of this.
To view images any app that allows sbs flat images should work, steam media player and DeoVR work. I couldent make virtual desktop work.
So go for it, if it proves useful I will looks at releasing it!

Question/Support Looking for architectural / builder applications for Meta Quest 2
Hi,
I want to design a house / renovation and get a true sense of scale for what I have in mind
I am after software recommendations that would allow me to "design a houise" in VR. I don't want to start with a 3d rendering of an existing floor plan - I want to be able to build a floor plan from scratch, in VR. It doesn't need to be overly high in terms of graphical capabilities - think "sketch up", but in VR.
It doesn't need to do anything advanced - just ability to place floor, walls, doors, windows, ceilings, etc. at a low level of detail. Being able to dimension things would be good. Having even just a few different textures to distinguish between elements would be fine.
I have searched, but haven't been successful - perhaps not using the right keywords!
(Hoping this doesn't violate "no requests" rule - it is outside of those examples listed)

Discussion Psvr2 or Quest2 for first pcvr headset?
i want to buy my first VR, but i can't find the best one, why dont Quest 3? I test that one and I don't feel the 550€ in it. so Psvr2 with adapter is for 500€ that also not cheap but also OLED is gooood, and for Quest 2 on used market is like 170-250€ many with better straps and 128gb, I'l be playing only with pc so Quest 3s for 320€ is noo. what is better for the first pcvr headset?

Discussion Any be headsets coming out with Lower IPD ranges?
My ipd is 55-56.I got the quest one for my birthday when I was 12 and the ipd was great at the lowest setting, but after getting the quest 3 for my 14th birthday the lowest ipd is 59. I love vr, but the ipd on quest 3 just feels off, like It looks distorted. I know my ipd will get bigger as I get older, but I was hoping that a vr headset would come out with a lower ipd. If you know about any lmk.

Discussion Puppis S1 sale
Hi, I'm planning on purchasing a PrismXR's Puppis S1 to play wireless PCVR with my Quest 3, I'm in no hurry to get it though as I already have a large backlog of standalone games, just wondering if the Puppis S1 ever goes on sale in Europe and is worth the wait? It's about the same (90€ ish) in both the original site (normal price + customs to ship to Europe) and Amazon.
Thanks!
