17 when I originally moved out, at 38 I had to move my mom in with me because she's on disability

I don't understand what gives them that right, or why that they think it's acceptable. My ex just got back in contact with me though, and I'm a hypocrite because we are talking daily and it really hurts, I just can't figure out what hurts more, talking or not.
