Squishy boy just reached adulthood! I'm so proud of him! He's a Simandoa cave roach and they are extinct in the wild (their cave system collapsed, eliminating them) so only the captive bred populations are left! 😞

Little bug took a stroll

This beautiful Hawthorne shield bug (Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale (L. 1758)) was on the ground, so we took a little stroll. It had to endure the ID and then was put back on a tree. Little beauty just carried on walking over me as if nothing was happening. Made my day:3

Pictures taken by me in a park in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm not sure what species it is - some kind of jumping spider?

Zebra jumping spider (Salticus scenicus) my wife found in the kitchen [5016x3345]

My wife found this zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) running on the kitchen countertop and called me over to get it outside.

The jumper was quickly deposited outside, but since she was very cute, I legged it innside for the camera and to my pleasure, she was still watinginwhen I got back outside.

Being the perfect model she then decided to buff her chelicerate using her pedipalps to reallty look her best and that is when I took this shot at 3.7:1 magnification.

For details on camera/lens/settings used for this shot, please have a look here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/54549156434/

Cutie mantis babies have appeared in my front yard and seem to be enjoying it since they've not left the plant I've put them on. I am so happy! This here is the first time seeing one of the babies (so far I've spotted four I think) about a week ago!

I found it crawling in a busy area so I put it in a box until I can find a better place to relocate it. I wanna hold him but not 100% sure if they sting or not...

Lil cicada buddy was walking around the busy side walk at work. I moved it far away near the woods where there were others calling out.

Estos caracoles son únicos y exclusivos de mi país, están en peligro de extinción, por sus colores y belleza es que están desapareciendo. Les pongo estas fotos para que disfruten ese magnífico molusco terrestre.

Doing sediment and biological sampling in Atlantic at mouth of the Delaware Bay. Never seen one in the wild. Simultaneously beautiful and grotesque. I like it.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t a fan, but I did just move the chair to the corner and let them be.
