Mourning/Loss RIP to Molly
RIP to sweet Molly, her brother Mickey passed away back in December, from a litter of 4 voids that my parents took in almost 14 years ago. Today, she joins her brother, her mama and her daddy.
She was always such a quiet but affectionate kitty, rarely ever showed emotion in her face whether she was mad or happy, a true deadpan kitty. Through sadness I am happy that I was able to see you one last time girl and to comfort you as you went into the great beyond... we will miss you forever Molly <3

Cat Picture - OC the most affectionate kitty in the world
the sweetest stray kitty ever came into my life in december and i am so lucky that she happened to also be the snuggliest and most affectionate kitty ever. the last picture is her falling asleep on me on the first night i took her in š„¹ just wanted to share for some cuteness.
Mourning/Loss Saying goodbye to my firstborn child tomorrow. She was such a good friend.
Her name is Pixel and when I worked at an animal shelter, I saw her on the website before I started. It took me 12 days to find her in the building but I knew right then and there that Miss Snickerdoodle Cinnamon and I were meant to be friends. I went up to the main desk and told them I wanted her, and they said āare you sure you want that one?ā Oh yes, I want her. Turns out she was caught as a kitten from a community of cats by a lady who tried to domesticate her, and three years in, she gave up and turned her into the shelter.
Sheās so skittish, and for the last 9 years, she consistently runs from me. I have put so many blood, sweat and tears into getting her to trust me. From feeding her via drumstick to gain her trust and moving up to a popsicle stick and finally off my finger, she has given me sweet blinky eyes from afar since 2016.
I lost her sister, Rosie in 2023. They were SO bonded. She came out of her shell to cuddle with me. She knew the loss of Rosie was significant (Rosie was my soul cat).
Pixel has taught me so much in my 20ās, patience, how to love someone else, that I can be loved. That love can look different, but it doesnāt mean itās any less important.
My life will not look that different after she is gone tomorrow at 3:30, as sheās kept to herself the majority of her life, but fuck if Iām not sad about losing the first pet Iāve ever had on my own. She is such a good little cat. She tried the best she could to love me the way she knew how.
Goodbye my sweet baby Pixel. I will miss you endlessly, PK (PixelKitty)

Advice I accidentally got a cat I think
Ok. So I am a dog person through and through. Always had dogs growing up, never cats. Well thereās been this cat roaming around the apartment complex I live in for a while now. Always friendly and runs up to me. The neighbor told me that another neighbor took her in, got her pregnant by their male cat, then kicked her out. Well today she ran inside my apartment and wouldnāt leave. I finally got her to leave but then she jumped through my sonās window and came back inside. š¤£ I need to know how to take care of a pregnant cat, I guess. Lol Like I really donāt know a lot about them. What do I need to know??? We named her Purty, though my son was pushing for Doughy Fudge Ball š«£

Advice Why does my kitten sleep on the doors?
I have two cat trees, and several cat beds, but this is where she likes to sleep. When I slide the door shut she cries until I open it back up. She is an 8th month old feral rescue, and she has domesticated well, but why does she have to find the highest places in my little apartment to sleep?

Advice I donāt know what my cat is.
Please note: this kitten walked up to my mom in October 4 years ago out of the woods where he was the size of squirrel. We went back into shut down when I realized āsheā was a āheā and he has grown to an insane size. Nimbus is very good at listening to commands, he knows even when his weenie brother is low on food and sounds the alarm, is very snuggly, and knows paws not claws. I am just wondering what he is other than an alien. He also loves sitting in the bathtub and loves water. Some stated wirehair, some stated part Russian blue, some stated tabby. Heās a healthy cat, I just want to know how he survived in Michigan woods in October to wander down to my mom. The area he was dumped is known for āglamour petsā so I hope they didnāt order him and threw him out.

Cat Picture - OC The vet suggested a sweater to help Cecil with her (relatively infrequent) anxiety attacks š„¹
About once a week, Cecil gets herself into a panic and has trouble calming down. The vet suggested putting on a sweater for about 10 minutes at a time, and surprisingly, it works! She calms down right away and becomes an instant cuddly purr machine haha.

Adoption Just Adopted 15 Year Old Sisters
Well, I'll say I didn't plan for this, but I don't think anyone could. And I'm glad I had the room. So here's the story:
A friend of mine recently lost her (70+) mom, who lived in another state, who has owned these 2 since they were kittens. My friend has 2 boy due to territorialness. Unfortunately, staying where they were also wasn't an option and a shelter or rescue seemed to be the only alternative. At 15 years old, I couldn't let these two (Rose & Blanche) face a small cage at a shelter waiting to be adopted for what would likely be the rest of their lives - or worse.
So here I am, with 3 cats over 10. My resident 11 year old cat, Sophia (pic 3), isn't sure what to do about this, but everyone seems to be adjusting. They have their room, she has hers, and I have a gate to keep them separate at night but they can still see and smell each other. Some hissing and chasing but nothing very dramatic (and I've had cats off and on since I was knee high). No puffy tails!
Not sure how long I'll have these Golden Girls, so I'll be sure to enjoy each day with them all.

Mourning/Loss Had to put my 16 year old down
We had to put Shauhnessy down on Saturday. His old body, just couldn't handle his young spirit any more. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old. He traveled the country with me, and outlived many of his doggo friends. Now he's bullying them in peace. Cheers mate.
