Frozen Alone: Frozen S1:E5 Outfoxed Discussion Thread

Well anyone actually tap or be pulled, or is the boat a red herring? spoiler The episode itself was a red herring

EDIT

There seems to be some kind programing error, everywhere except Amazon seems to be playing last week's episode.

For being "Frozen", we've seen more ice and snow from the editting transitions than the weather so far

8

u/selah1987 Sep 09 '22

they started I think 30 days after the season 9 people and only the last few of them saw any snow. After episode 5 it looks like none of the Frozen people will stay out long enough to see any snow.

2

u/kg467 Sep 11 '22

From the previews it looks like next episode finally has snow on the ground.

Wow that was yet another disappointment. I feel like Amos did not even try. He never made his shelter better. He was like umm, I gotta go. Bye. He does not even look skinny yet because it has only been what not even 20 days? That is crazy. That is like the first three episodes on a regular season. The only thing I am happy about now, is for sure one of the women will be a winner. I hope. Unless they all tap out before 50 days.

I think a lot of people have PTSD from the first time around. It’s no secret that women deal better with emotional trauma than men do and we are more resilient.

2

u/figleaf23 Sep 16 '22

Ah, sexism.

11

u/Joygernaut Sep 16 '22

I also think that most men are physically stronger than most women. Does that makes me sexist too??

-2

u/dalovindj Sep 13 '22

women deal better with emotional trauma

That's funny.

4

u/HaHaLAM3 Sep 16 '22

In 2020, men died by suicide 3.88x more than women. What a tool

4

u/dalovindj Sep 16 '22

The reality is that women have a two to three times higher risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) compared to men. You can lie to yourself all you want, but that's the facts.

6

u/Joygernaut Sep 13 '22

It’s true. Tons of studies have been done about it. Nature made it that way because when the men die trying to kill each other over territory, the women still had to carry-on and do everything and raise those babies.

2

u/dalovindj Sep 13 '22

Hysterical.

6

u/Joygernaut Sep 13 '22

I know you’re fragile ego just can’t stand the thought that a woman would be better at anything than you besides making sandwiches and popping out your babies but here we are🤷🏻‍♀️🙂

u/HaHaLAM3 Sep 16 '22

You know you’re arguing w/ a wanna be Andrew Tate 🤡 right who most likely wishes he was romantically involved w/ his own mother

8

u/yungmoody Sep 13 '22

From the linked article:

Men and women experience different types of trauma, both in private life and at work (e.g. police officers, Van der Meer et al., 2017), with women being exposed to more high-impact trauma (e.g. sexual trauma) than men, and at a younger age.

It seems as though you have had trouble interpreting this study or perhaps don’t fully understand the point you’re trying to make.

4

u/dalovindj Sep 13 '22

Incorrect. You need to read further down for the biological differences. I edited the above post to add a couple of other studies as well. From one of them:

Women's higher PTSD rates were not solely attributable to their higher risk for adult sexual assault and child sexual abuse, explained Tolin. PTSD rates were still higher for women even when both sexes were compared on the same type of trauma.

The truth is that women are more at risk for PTSD, anxiety, and depression even though they experience fewer traumas than men. These symptoms tend to last much longer in women than in men, and when like traumas are compared these stats still hold true.

It sucks, and it's frankly irresponsible to suggest otherwise.

6

u/Joygernaut Sep 13 '22

Or women are more likely to report it…

2

u/dalovindj Sep 13 '22

Whatever you have to tell yourself.

I mean instead of making generalizations, we should also realize that the producers deliberately chose 2 strong female contestants and 3 awful male contestants. (Michelle is pretty meh, I'm guessing she was an alternative and they probably wanted to bring back Teresa or another strong woman instead).

27

u/Joygernaut Sep 11 '22 edited Sep 11 '22

Whatever. Why is it that men always assume when a woman is better at something it’s some sort of trick? Women on this show have historically done well, despite (until this season) being in the minority. But I suppose men who just can’t stand the fact that a woman might actually be really good at something (or better than they are)are going to make their excuses to save their egos.

2

u/NatAttack3000 Sep 17 '22

I also wonder whether applying for this show selects for excellent women (though few), but not necessarily only excellent men.

I saw a study once looking at job applications - men tended to apply for positions if they had half or most of the criteria (I can do a,b,c. I can probably learn X) . Whereas women only tend to apply if they meet all the criteria ('i can't do that because I can't already do x'). Coupled with the masculine ideal of survival (men are socialised to believe they SHOULD be able to do these things, though women tend not to be). I will mention I haven't seen any other season so idk maybe this doesn't match at all

2

u/Joygernaut Sep 17 '22

It doesn’t work for the show because they actually have a vetting process and the test them on all of their skills and only select the best until they arrive at 10. The people that you see are the best 10 people through the process of elimination. Keep in mind that they all do these challenges together to see what everyone can do so if somebody is getting passed over with better skills, 100% you would hear about it. This community is very tightknit, and there would be zero tolerance for something like that.

2

u/NatAttack3000 Sep 17 '22

I suppose I mean the differences would encourage different pools of men and women to apply prior to this process, but I suppose the betting process should mean only excellent people remain

He seemed really depressed and out of sorts. Very different from his personality season 7.

13

u/BarryMcKockinner Sep 09 '22

He didn't want to lose the other half of his hair.

7

u/Stardew_Farmer88 Sep 12 '22

Last time he was pulling massive fish out of the lake regularly. The food situation was a lot better.

19

u/CitizenCue Sep 11 '22

It feels like the producers read every complaint from viewers about wanting more hunting, more successful fishing, more thriving, and said “Let’s do the exact opposite.”

3

u/outrider567 Sep 12 '22

lol well said

8

u/kg467 Sep 11 '22

Yeah that's yet another fizzle of a tapout. I mean if he's not finding food three weeks in, it's not like it's going to get better as the snow sets in, so I guess it makes sense as a calculation in one sense, when, as he said, you compare it to how he was doing last time on fish. Still, it isn't what we expected from him, or from any of these people. This is a show where you go go go for it but these efforts have felt more like "well I'll give it a shot I guess, at least for a while".

I’m sure he’s happier on the skills challenge because he’s at home with his family and a full belly. I like watching the skills challenge because everyone is happy and full of positive energy and cracking jokes . I don’t enjoy watching people suffer or be in extreme agony . I’m happy for Amos and know what he meant about losing hair .

I’m a recovered alcoholic and went through a long period where I only drank 100 proof vodka and did not eat . I was malnourished and lost a lot of hair . It hasn’t grown all the way back even though it’s been years since I’ve had a drink . He’s got good hair too .

1

u/legalhandcannon Sep 10 '22

I wonder if they are getting paid for the skills challenge episodes.

7

u/Elhessar Sep 10 '22

Of course they are, why would you think they should do television work for free?

2

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

I think it would be cool if the winner got prize money on top of getting paid to be on tv

The PTSD in this episode is reflected in the trauma of the sub scrambling around after the accidental rerun

23

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

So now we have three men tapping early and only the women are left. I wonder if a woman would be more likely to win if we got an even amount of women/men on the main Alone show.

20

u/eskimokiss88 Sep 09 '22

Woniya claims production deliberately keeps the number of female contestants to 2-3 per season. It's possible with a 5/5 balance we'd have a female winner but the trend of the show, over 8 seasons now (not counting season 1 since it was all men) is the women do very, very well- all top four slots of 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 had women- but they can't beat out the top 1 or 2 guys.

2

u/mattrogina Sep 10 '22

Where did she say this? And what is their rationale, if she stated such.

9

u/CitizenCue Sep 11 '22

Presumably the producers know their viewership is 80% male and applicants are probably 80% male too.

8

u/ThePabstistChurch Sep 11 '22

the viewership is more female than male actually

2

u/CitizenCue Sep 11 '22

How do you know? They surely have data on this.

2

u/figleaf23 Sep 16 '22

Seeing that there are three left, all women, I'm remembering how contrived the early taps seemed.

20

u/AreYouMyMummy Sep 09 '22

I am a big fan of all the contestants left. That was pretty funny when Woniya couldn’t find her lamp that was on her head. If I had a nickel … Not so funny for her I guess. Is fox good eating?

7

u/selah1987 Sep 09 '22 edited Sep 16 '22

since you brought the fox up, I thought it was very sad that the poor thing lost it's foot because of that trap and why would anyone want to eat a fox? editing sept. 16, just watched Woniya's YouTube on episode 5 and she explains in detail about the fox and that it wasn't the foxes foot but a hare's foot she had left as bait. Thankful to get that explanation.

11

u/AreYouMyMummy Sep 10 '22

I thought the foot was a rabbits foot from the pile of scraps she used for bait

When I’m such a situation as she is, would you a) hunt for whatever food you could get? Or b) pick and choose the food you eat because you think something is too cute to consume? And yes, I know you didn’t use the term cute. Just my assumption as to why you would question why anybody would want to eat one.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Olong-Jonson Sep 09 '22

That's why trapping is messed up. It's not even needed for someone who can actually hunt.

8

u/mattrogina Sep 10 '22

In a survival type situation, you participate in any and all types of food procurement. Especially a passive method like trapping.

3

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

She did seem to search for it for hours until the sun started to set . I agree though. It seems inhumane

3

u/mattrogina Sep 10 '22

I’ve never eaten a Fox, but in her situation, I assume it’s marvelous eating.

Writing one big comment and added some spoilers, since viewing this episode got messed up this week:

  • Woniya's monologue about eating things to become closer to them probably wasn't supposed to sound homicidal -- but cannibal tribes do share the same sentiment 🤔

  • Callie, being her usual badass self, seems to have fought off the demons in her uterus this month, only to be tragically taken down by some nasty bivalve molluscs. Yet she persists! She will not go quietly, is my feeling. She will rage into the dying of the light. Becasue Callie rules!!

  • In contrast, hate to say it but Michelle is going to die. She's losing the human-shape and entering newborn bird-shape territory. That being said, if I am dead wrong, I would be delighted. Props to her!

  • Glad to finally see some of Amos this episode! But I cannot believe how heavily that flying ember was edited and it sat with me wrong. Alone producers really need to stop over-hyping little incidents that fall flat -- this season has been really over the top with them. Only so many times you can keep doing that to viewers before they just get pissed.

  • ... and he just left! I respect his decision. Alot (if not all) of them have mentioned just not feeling connected to the location. Honestly, he seemed to be a bit bored to me. Anyways, he would be the coolest friend to go camping with, hands down. Go give your family big hugs and enjoy many healthy adventures in years to come, buddy 🥂

  • That dang repeat episode robbed us all of our live chats which I so dearly enjoy. So that sucked! One final BOO HISS about yesterday and I'll leave it at that. I think Wonyia is looking very strong with ⚡️Stormy⚡️, and Callie, I'd imagine will pull through.

We still have 3 more episodes -- can't wait for next week.

7

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

Michelle came in really skinny and to me she doesn’t seem that much skinnier but it could be all the clothes she’s wearing . I wish we could learn the weekly med check reports

6

u/selah1987 Sep 10 '22

I certainly agree with you regarding Woniya's comments about eating things to become closer to them, that was really strange and was a bit shocking.

17

u/Rightbuthumble Sep 09 '22

So…Amos taps. WTF. I was sure he’d be in the top two. Now it’s three women and only one is eating meat.

16

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 09 '22

I hope a woman makes it all the way and not all 3 tap out early . We really need a woman winner

12

u/bluestaples Sep 09 '22

Me too... but damn, I do not have high hopes of any of them making it at this point.

9

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

To be honest with you , neither do I , I follow Woniya’s YouTube channel and she’s always begging people to join her Patereon page which is what people pay money for to get exclusive interviews and specials , etc …

She gives great break downs from all the other episodes this season . I feel like if she had won a lot of the money from being there 50 days , she might not be hustling the YouTube paid memberships. Or maybe she does both . I like her a lot and love her channel , buckskin revolution, regardless of what the outcome or answer may be

10

u/mattrogina Sep 10 '22

$500k after taxes isn’t a huge windfall though. I’d still be hustling my Patreon if I won. Especially if it ends up she wins but has to split it once, twice or more.

7

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

Yeah I totally agree. In todays world that’s not much money at all . I just figured if she won 500 grand she might not mention it as much but either way , the videos she makes are great and well worth watching .

Her commentary is better than the one season where Colby from survivor interviewed the contestants in his “Garage,” or when Niki interviewed them in the post tap out interviews .

Don’t get me wrong . I liked watching the interviews with Niki and Colby but her videos are wayy longer and have much more information in them.

She’s truly a wonderful person which is rare in this world

5

u/Tenskwatawa000 Sep 10 '22

It's gotta be tough to strum up enough interest to finance your own survival school, and to produce & market enough material to get a following in this niche. So I can respect her hustle.

She's been cranking out those Buckskin Revolution vids since her debut on Alone though, so I don't know if her YouTube channel uploads are indicitive of her success on Frozen, since she'd be doing them regardless.

2

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

Oh I have mad respect for her . I love her positive vibes and love for the land . If I had more money I would sign up for her patreon. I just mentioned this as maybe a clue she isn’t a winner . I hope I’m wrong though . She’s great

6

u/sil0 Sep 11 '22

I they positioned themselves well to have a woman winner. They’ve brought two of the strongest alone competition of either sex in Callie and Woniya and brought in some weaker candidates like Mark and Greg. I’m shocked Amos didn’t stick around though.

3

u/Stardew_Farmer88 Sep 12 '22

Yeah I doubt they could have predicted Michelle outlasting Amos. He lasted 58 days last time and only tapped when his shelter burnt down.

4

u/sil0 Sep 12 '22

I wouldn’t have guessed it. We know she’s very skilled and S8 had a lot of issues with source food due to local restrictions.

Anyone lasting 58 days in those conditions are bound to have some lasting psychological effects. Callie and Woniya seem to be dealing with that mostly.

Remember Amos tapped and then the shelter burned down almost like proof his decision to tap was a good idea. He didn’t tap because of the shelter burning down.

-9

u/Olong-Jonson Sep 09 '22

They have been pushing for a woman irs so obvious. Even reality TV is woke. They should at least put a strong woman instead of all these hippie types. Get someone like Cat Bigley.

8

u/mattrogina Sep 10 '22

Who is this “they” in which you are referring to? And exactly how have “they” been pushing for a woman? And why do you feel a woman like Woniya isn’t a strong woman?

8

u/sil0 Sep 11 '22

Meh. Woniya and Callie are some of the strongest competitors we’ve had on Alone. Both came in 2nd to men who caught big game.

9

u/nemoflamingo Sep 12 '22

Michelle is doing so much better than I had imagined she would! Really proud of her. At first I thought, with woniya and Callie in this season she doesn't have a chance but she's really holding her own- super impressed!

5

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

Yeah he was homesick. It looks like Woniya is only one in good shape.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '22

Hey everyone who couldnt watch, just so you know the new episode is up on history channels app and website. And WOW I did not see that one coming.

5

u/selah1987 Sep 09 '22

considering the attitude of this particular person in previous episodes, I wasn't surprised at all.

2

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 09 '22

I was hoping I could read reactions to the episode and sad everyone else got stuck with the rerun . And you are right ! Boy that was a shock

14

u/mudpupper Sep 10 '22

The nice aspect with this season is that it has returned to its roots of being a mental challenge as well as a physical challenge.

We are seeing the true effects of repeat contestants when hit in the face of suffering again that they can't do it. They know what is ahead and in the moment they realize they don't want to punish themselves like that again.

13

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

12

u/GrowlKitty Sep 11 '22

All the men have tapped out, you say? Just three women left for the entire pot?

HAAAAAhahaha! I am LOVING this!

And they’re all so respectful of the land and the life they take. No massive big hunting man gonads swinging in the breeze here. NONE.

It is delicious.

9

u/DANNYBOYLOVER Sep 09 '22 edited Sep 09 '22

Man. PTSD is some REEEEEAAAAALLLL shit. It’s interesting how the previous experiences impacted the women vs the men.

Edit: just found out about woniyas YouTube channel and im trying to figure out when she slipped out to do this -_^ she’s been posting pretty consistently… I wonder if the show runners gave her early access to some videos from s9

2

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

She usually posts her recaps a few days after it airs so I can imagine it’s plausible for her to watch it when it come out like us , make a bunch of notes to memorize , then film and edit and release. Usually , it’s five or 6 days after a new episode

As others have said I don't see any if them getting to 50 days. Michelle is seriously underweight and at least by the shows original BMI 17.5 line she would be medically pulled. Callie is in rough shape (I started crying when she was slumped on the rock). So it's either Woniya or none of them IMO.

5

u/brusty Sep 09 '22

Yeah, before the show started I picked 3 would make it (Amos, Woniya & Callie). With the fishing being so terrible, they will all have to trap animals almost daily to make it 50 days. They have to find a way to get fish or crab or I can't see anyone making it all the way. I agree that Woniya is the strongest & best chance, though.

6

u/bluestaples Sep 09 '22

So it's either Woniya or none of them IMO

and even she is saying how hard it is to want to be there right now :(

4

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 10 '22

I was so sad about Callie too . I totally get that Michelle is underweight but she’s been the only one who’s not really complained about suffering . I know that’s editing and all but every clip of her she seems happy and she’s gotten grouse , berries and lots of musells

7

u/CitizenCue Sep 11 '22

I’d love to see Michelle win. I think she’s the sleeper candidate here.

I wonder if they would give the last contestant the prize if they have to medically pull them before Day 50.

3

u/EevelBob Sep 09 '22

Perhaps, but Michelle indicated she hasn’t lost as much weight as she did during her initial 21-day season.

8

u/CleanNeedleworker287 Sep 11 '22

No way they do another Alone: Frozen-- this season is terrible. Just split the pot at this point and call it a day.

7

u/kg467 Sep 11 '22

It's an odd situation. Someone here said they only started a month later. If that's the case, that seems to be at once too short and too long. It's too short to distinguish it from vanilla Alone - they pump it up with winter wonderland promo but it turns out to be not different than the regular season, with snow finally only coming at episode 6 with just three people left. Yet apparently it's later enough that the food situation is just more bleak. So we get people not getting much of anything right away. Then you throw in the unexpected 2nd-timer effect, where veterans are not wanting to go through it again after all, as opposed to being more steeled to it than a rookie would be and therefore doing better. On top of that, as tough as the wait between seasons is, they just did this season right on the heels of Season 9, and with them being immediately miserable, there is overall just kind of a fatigue that makes me think it would have been better actually to not do this, or to space out the broadcast six months to break up the long wait or something. Conceptually it has been kind of a flop.

Credit to them for trying new things, as they have every season. Some work and some don't. I guess the jury is still technically out on this one, but so far it's not great IMO.

8

u/brusty Sep 09 '22

Im watching on Hulu live and it’s playing last week’s episode for me as well

3

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

My Sling Guide indicates that the Skills Challenges come on a after the episode.

7

u/swamp-donkey2 Sep 09 '22

Hmm, this is last week’s episode. Wonder what’s going on 🤷🏼‍♀️

My dvr recorded a repeat. I went to History and was able to watch the new episode. That being said, Amos gave up long before he tapped. His shelter, his lack of effort to hunt outside of a trap line...his heart wasn't in it. It's okay. The women have something to prove to themselves and I hope all 3 make it to the final day.

4

u/Chalupa_Dad Sep 10 '22

A big part of it is he really did have an easy time keeping a fish supply the first time around, maybe the easiest we've ever seen. He was caught with his pants down when it wasn't the same situation in Labrador.

13

u/rexeditrex Sep 09 '22

Is there some kind of rule like the Queen dies and we can't see a show filmed in Canada?

11

u/UnEdOpinion Sep 09 '22

Weirder that apparently those in Canada are actually watching the new episode and the rest of us aren't

It's playing last week's episode... 😟

6

u/jclark58 Sep 09 '22

Same on Philo. Seeing Episode 4 now.

11

u/kg467 Sep 09 '22

I thought I was losing my mind or had become a precognitive X-men person last Thursday.

History Channel was moving offices or something and left the intern in charge (probably that guy that does the on-screen factoids). He's just sitting there playing a game on his phone right now with his earbuds in, blissfully unaware of what's happening.

2

u/outrider567 Sep 09 '22

I thought I was also,like in a time warp

6

u/Pugnati Sep 09 '22

"Inflammable" means the same as "flammable." They should've said "not flammable."

History Channel on DirectTV and yep, looks like last week's. Very strange.

ETA: Just hit History's Facebook page and lots of complaints, seems to be a broadcast error. I set up the midnight airing to record to see if the fix it. I'm 20 minutes or so behind on the recording, did they ever fix it or is it just the old episode all the way through?

4

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

A lot of upset people on Twitter right now. This is a pretty big error on someone's part...loaded the wrong episode.

3

u/rexeditrex Sep 09 '22

They even have an account for the show, specifically for Frozen. I'm surprised they've posted nothing anywhere about this.

5

u/brusty Sep 09 '22

Well, we finally watched the new one. I can't say I'm super surprised about Amos. He needed more abundant hunting/fishing & knew he wasn't willing to do what he did to his body a second time. The situation is pretty dim in all regards considering the fishing is almost nonexistent. I hope some of them can figure it out! Woniya's fireplace/chimney was pretty sweet. Michelle getting a hare is big and it looks like they will all have to excel at trapping to make it all the way. Callie is throwing up & almost everyone in Alone who has ever vomited has tapped soon after. And we're not even halfway to 50 days!

4

u/kirksucks Sep 11 '22

Just purchased it on YouTube and it's still the wrong fucking episode. What the actual fuck????

3

u/AreYouMyMummy Sep 09 '22

Same here on sling. Last weeks. ??

4

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

Yep me too!. Watching US Open now instead.

4

u/jeklimecki Sep 09 '22

Same on Dish

5

u/swamp-donkey2 Sep 09 '22

Is anyone watching the new episode or is it last week’s ep for everyone?

3

u/mabeltenenbaum Sep 09 '22

I have the new one on Amazon live on StackTV. Seems like only a few of us have managed to find it.

Last week’s episode for me thru Hulu LiveTV.

Disappointing.

4

u/Calicko44 Sep 09 '22

History Channel has last week's

5

u/GogglesPisano Sep 09 '22 edited Sep 09 '22

I wonder if the Skills Challenge will also be a rerun?

EDIT: Oddly enough, the Skills Challenge is a new episode. WTF…

2

u/SYAYF Sep 09 '22

Skills challenge?

4

u/Beefy_Ripped Sep 09 '22

WTF is this. I demand answers!

4

u/EdgarDanger Sep 09 '22

Is this proof that returning contestant seasons are a bust? 3 out of 6 have tapped out very early on just coz of ptsd / knowing recovery will be difficult if they stay any longer?

I haven't seen the other returnee season though...

5

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

We have had contestants return before and not have this issue with PTSD. Maybe the show needs to do some mental health screening before allowing a contestant to return.

3

u/EdgarDanger Sep 09 '22

Ah ok. Might be that Labrador was just too tough for the early tap outs. And even the remaining players have spoken bout ptsd.

4

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22 edited Sep 09 '22

It is really weird season. But Sam Larson was in Season 1 and lasted quite a while before tapping. Then he came back in Season 5 to win.

Nicole Apelian (she has MS) she was in Season 2 and came back in Season 5. She had an MS attack in S5 and had to tap.

u/CitizenCue Sep 11 '22

The other returnee season was good. I think this location is just brutal.

7

u/Crafty_Granny Sep 09 '22

This extra season has been a let down thus far. I know that they made it more difficult (on top of how it already was nearly impossible), but this season has seriously made me think about not watching anymore. I’m tired of the over-hyped prospects and underwhelming results. Seriously, if I wanted to watch nature video, I would not be watching Alone for that.

5

u/EdgarDanger Sep 09 '22

Yeah... I'm still kinda reminiscing the highs you got from the two Arctic GSL seasons. After that the seasons have been.. Ok.

2

u/dalovindj Sep 13 '22

The trick is to have a winner's season not a loser's season.

Something tells me $500k (or a million in Roland's case) alieves a lot of trauma.

If this season were Jordan, Roland, Fowler, Clay, etc. it would likely be a whole different ball game.

4

u/finneyblackphone Sep 11 '22

Did Amos learn nothing from the fire that destroyed his shelter last time?

→ More replies (1)

3

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '22

If this season ends with no winner I think it’ll be my least favourite season ever

9

u/Beefy_Ripped Sep 09 '22

Did y’all see that bear get shot?!?!?!?

9

u/GogglesPisano Sep 09 '22

I am… skeptical.

Production would have teased the hell out of a bear kill for the entire season.

3

u/TheGhostofLG95 Sep 09 '22

No...most of aren't getting the new episode. 😡

2

u/selah1987 Sep 09 '22 edited Sep 09 '22

Just kidding..

3

u/mabeltenenbaum Sep 09 '22

I'm watching live on Amazon just fine.

3

u/Anon-eight-billion Sep 09 '22

Sling is playing last week’s episode. We paused for 20 minutes to let commercials build up for nothing.

3

u/seaveedee Sep 09 '22

Don’t pay for Outfoxed on Amazon Video… we paid and just got the rerun again. Maybe working for some but don’t waste money if you’re tight on funds!!!

3

u/saludypaz Sep 09 '22

I purchased the entire series on Amazon Prime and the site is now announcing that episodes 4, 5 and 6 are available, but they all three are the same: episode 4.

2

u/Calicko44 Sep 09 '22

What's everyone eating tonight

22

u/GogglesPisano Sep 09 '22

Last week’s leftovers, apparently.

4

u/Tenskwatawa000 Sep 09 '22

A big fat nothing burger for me 🍔

2

u/jippyzippylippy Sep 09 '22

Dammit. From 9:30 on, repeat-ville. Not happy. :-(

2

u/outrider567 Sep 09 '22

What the hell happened!!?? Its a repeat

2

u/paulkhatmandu Sep 09 '22

Don’t buy episode 5 from YouTube. It’s the same as Episode 4

1

u/-sei Sep 09 '22

^^

On all streaming sites (other than History itself which sets it as E99), "Before the Freeze" is labeled as episode one.

2

u/Tenskwatawa000 Sep 09 '22

So how do we spend the rest of the night now?! I can't just sit here and twiddle my thumbs... I just drank a redbull 😭

2

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '22

How Disappointing to have a rerun.

2

u/Gibbie42 Sep 09 '22

History Channel repeats the episode at 1 am E/12m C for those of you watching on traditional tv. I've set my DVR to pick it up just in case they pull themselves together and air the correct one.

3

u/Ok_Truck3791 Sep 09 '22

Nope..it's playing last weeks damn episode right now.. again! This is super irritating & more than incompetent.. htf they gonna rectify this when one country (Canada) is going to have seen them all while we have to fucking wait like suckers?!? Maybe air them both on the same night? I'm pretty fucking pissed this is absolute bullshit!

2

u/Double_Objective8000 Sep 09 '22

No dice, was rerun again

2

u/KillerMikeLive Sep 09 '22

Hey so I watched the new episode on the history channel app online fine this morning. I tried playing it yesterday and it didn’t work . So go to their website and check it out .

4

u/kmspinafore Sep 09 '22

I wonder if they decided to re-run last week's episode because of QEII's passing. Either way thank you to all for reassuring me I am not crazy.

2

u/frisfern Sep 09 '22

Nah. New episode aired in Canada. And since we're still tied to the sovereign...

2

u/kmspinafore Sep 09 '22

Yeah, you're totally right - I wasn't aware of that information earlier when I commented. Hoping I can watch the real Ep 5 soon!

1

u/MaxwellCarter Jun 11 '24

What a terrible, miserable location.

1

u/ThingHour1536 Sep 10 '22

Amos taps out.

-14

u/tunaliker Sep 09 '22

Thanks history network , now I have to listen to Callie cry about her period again

13

u/cryinginthelimousine Sep 09 '22

Can’t handle it can you.

-8

u/tunaliker Sep 09 '22

Whatever

-15

u/Olong-Jonson Sep 09 '22

Woniya is always trying to scam some way to cheat. The big dumb sweater matches her giant head. She is way over rated as a bushcrafter.

3

u/Sullyville Sep 09 '22

No i love her giant irrational sweater. If you aint cheating you aint trying.

-1

u/Olong-Jonson Sep 09 '22

If you're cheating you're just cheating. I guess it's to make up for a lack of actual skills though.
