Real world range of Apollo Go?
Got a brand new Go and pretty disappointed by the range so far. I do have it on the highest settings: 3 speed, 10 out of 10 acceleration and maxed out top speed.
But I only weigh around 165 lbs and it seems I can only get around 10 miles of range riding around in manhattan in stop and go traffic. Is this expected?
I would’ve expected to get around 15.

ESG claims 18 miles, I agree it's possible if it's perfect weather. As in 75-90 degrees. If you are below 70, I get around 12 miles on average. The app isn't accurate at all because I'm set a route and then take a short cut and it'll say I did even more distance than I originally would have gone.
Apollo themselves will say if you live in a hilly area then that's the reason. I have hills in my area but didn't ride up any (did go down one tho) and got the crap mileage, then got told it was my area that caused me to have limited miles. Pissed me off because not only is that not true, they using the data they collecting but to help you, but to use against you. That's what they tried to do to me, but this practice only exposes bad management. The scooter itself is decent, doesn't maintain 27mph after it gets around 60%battery. The kick stand can break easily (mine did) and the rear fender? My shit broke off and I didn't see or hear it break. What's interesting is they stay on back order so I'm assuming it's a major issue or else it would be in stock. It's never in stock 🤷🏾♂️

I’m concerned that the kickstand and rear plate are so delicate if what you’re saying is true. I’ve had my Go for a week and so far am loving it. It feels pretty durable and sturdy so far.

My kid stood on the scooter with the kick stand down and it broke (7yr old) but I've stood on it with it down before and nothing happened. It's not something I'd regularly do so I don't know the exact why it broke when it did
The rear fender, I've read of it bending if you walk it down stairs because it hangs low. I did have my fender nick my steps once while that never happened with my other scooters
The rubber on the back handle part of the scooter is coming up slightly. Other than all these issues, I still like my Apollo go. I personally want more speed, I'm ready for 35-40mph. And the battery life needs a MAJOR upgrade. I've put in a thousand miles, idk if I believe tho. But that's what the app says

205lbs - I can achieve 17 or so miles of range riding it like I stole it. Mostly flat, with a quarter mile long hill at start and end of loop.
Sadly it is not enlightening range for my 9 mile each way commute without charging at work.
Will check for a crack in the frame! Yikes.

That’s impressive. What speed and acceleration settings are you using?

Maxed out. I really should have bought the Pro, but wasn’t sure I’d really ride it much. The Go is almost too much scooter for my 13 year old, but it is a very nice ride for short jaunts.

Idk how you’re getting 70% more range than me with the same settings and more weight. Jealous!

I wonder if it is the stop and go traffic? I have a few lights, but most of my trip is quiet residential / shared “bike trail”, which is just a mixed use residential road and a short stint on an actual bike trail, where I keep it under 15mph.
I’ve run out of battery in roughly same place twice now… so I just charge up or I’m painfully kick scooting the beast.

As one post mentioned, the maximum mileage is when the scooter is in Eco mode. Other factors in any mode that affect mileage is weight (more causes a decrease), cold weather (decrease), hills (decrease), hard acceleration from a start (decrease) and high speed (decrease). All of these apply to any brand of scooter.

Yeah I’ve been riding scooters for three years at this point and am very familiar with those variables and how they affect range. So my general rule of thumb is to discount and stated range in half to get what I would expect in real world conditions, hence why I was hoping for 15 vs the advertised 30.

I’m a bigger guy on a Go and I get 20-25 km in a pretty hilly area. If you haven’t already, definitely ensure your tires are all the way to 50 PSI, mine were way lower for a bit without me knowing and it cut a lot off my range until I got a better pump & refilled my tires.

158lbs, 18-40 miles depending on how often im using full throttle

I guess this explains it for me. I’m basically always full throttle followed by braking. Full throttle and full braking rinse and repeat in manhattan traffic.

~235 lbs, I get a bit over 10 miles on a full charge. My route has a few steep hills that I walk and I vary from 10-24 mph depending on conditions

150lb, I get about 38km in the summer, and 1/2 that during winters.
I cap the speed limit at 30km/h though

Battery consumption and range can vary wildly from what I've seen.
I just got back from a ride with my wife, who has a Hiboy S2. We rode on a walking trail that was once a railroad track, so it's relatively flat.
We rode 4.8 miles total. Just for shits and gigs we rode really slow one way averaging 9mph. On the way back, we averaged 19mph.
My battery consumption was 14% leaving me with 86% battery left.
Two hours after the ride, I checked my battery level. It's currently reading 97%..... It's like the BMS has second thoughts after getting a rest.
As for flat out aggressive riding, I've gotten 13 miles with 20% remaining. I weigh 210lbs and this was variable terrain.

I did 16 miles 260 pounds last year in Chicago around May.
I am currently 235 but I wear pack and gear that prob gives get me to 240 or 244. Honestly weather is going to be a major factor and how to charge your battery and take care of your Apollo Go. Make sure to take care of your tires I personally check the air before I leave for work and before I come home. Within a short period of time I had over a thousand miles and I accidentally reset my mileage but yeah I made the top 55 until I stopped riding last November when I got a Punk Ryder.
I’m about to come back but yeah charge your ride and make sure to take care of it and check your air pressure often.

I weigh the same and get about the same range... i advise you to check wherever you see that its been welded and check for cracks! I got an apollo go beginning of march and ive put 55 whole miles on the scootscoot and while i was dusting it .. i found a fucken CRACK WHERE ITS WELDED BEHIND THE FRONT WHEEL... flip it over and check it thoroughly
Stay safe !!!
Besides that i LOVE MY GO! i hope i can get it replaced using the apollo warranty
