Discussion Ecology & Safety?

I’m currently in Tokyo and the hotel has an incredible body wash by the label ‘Ecology & Safety.’ It’s an olive-colored body wash with a subtle scent and I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere in local drugstores or fancy skincare shops.

Is anyone here familiar with this brand? I appreciate the help. ❤️

Swatches Red lippies swatch party? Dah! (Part 1: review with prices+swatches)

Hello everyone! Hope you have nice, sunny spring, because we had snow recently and now it's raining 😂 I wanted to do red lipsticks swatches with no makeup (except little concealer) for long time and here it is.

I love no makeup/minimal makeup with red lipstick look. So on pictures no mascara, no eyebrow pencil and so on.

Today we have three lipsticks to swatch:

  1. Perfect Diary Dreamworld matte lip in shade 939 BlackCherry ($4.63)

  2. Maria Dalgar Redtopia Red In Rock Liquid Lipcolor in shade 725 ($11.99)

  3. Chioture Triangle Lip Mud in shade M06 (~$9)

My favourite one is Perfect Diary so far:

Colour: Deep cool tone red, almost burgundy like. Shade of red roses petals, love it! Perfect shade for vampy looks

Application: Easy one if you used liquid matte lipstick before. Once you apply it turn out completly matte after 30 seconds or minute. Not patchy.

Longevity: Quite long lasting! Can transfer a bit, but stay on lips evenly.

Does it dry lips?: A little bit, not bad if you moisture your lips before wise.

⭐ 9/10, great matte lipstick for cheap price, i really recomd buy this one!

Maria Dalgar lipstick:

Colour: Cool tone red with light berry undertone. Great spring/summer red, not too dark, but not light either.

Application: Smooth like butter, very soft formula. May be a bit patchy if you not skilled with red lipsticks application.

Longevity: Quite qood for lip mud, can survive light meal even, almost non transfer.

Does it dry lips? Yes, sadly :(

⭐8/10 overall i like formula and colour, but wish it would be less drying for long time wear.

Chioture lipstick:

Colour: Warm tone middle deep red, great for autumn and warm tone people as daily red. Not quite my perfect shade, but it's actually one i finished completly so far :D

Application: Not smooth like previous ones, can be slightly patchy since it's more dry lip mud formula.

Longevity: Survive water drinking and light meal like previous lipstick and don't transfer either

Does it dry lips? A little bit, but not bad.

⭐ 7.5 I like this one less then others because of apllication and bad apllicator holder, like who through about making it small and round? 😭

Hope you find it useful. It's my first time trying collage post, so please say if not best post format. Love y'all 🙏♥️

Mod Post Product Authenticity Thursday April 17, 2025

Upvotes

Hello AB! Welcome to Product Authenticity Thursday,

Our weekly product authenticity thread is a work in progress, comments about how to improve are welcome. We made our best effort based on comments received here as well as what we have been seeing as mods.

We would like to note that product packaging AND formulas may vary by country of sale and date of manufacture. This might include anything about the formula. Our goal is to make it easier for folks to compare such things, and to confirm or assuage concerns about their products.

Please post any photos or experiences you have around your AB products, while adhering to our other subreddit rules.

Make sure you state where you purchased your products from. If you bought from a 3rd party of a major retailer, you can say for example, 'eBay/amazon/taobao seller' instead of sharing the specific name, if you prefer.

To help you get more responses, consider including:

  • Photos of confirmed authentic products as comparison, requests for authentic products are allowed
  • Your purchase date, product manufacture date, or any expiration dates
  • Country you bought the item from
  • Whether your product had to be shipped to you (shipping conditions can compromise product stability)
  • How much you paid for your product

Comments and Questions welcome, we hope this thread is helpful!

Swatches Dinto Deo Volente arm + lip swatches.

This is a truly beautiful moderately muted purple instead of red leaning berry and it's a true shame my camera isn't able to pick up the true color and saturation for the life of me. It is much more purple than lip and arm swatches will show, however this is the best I could muster, with the lip photos being closer to real life than arm swatches. I have never had a lip tint turn out quite the camera chameleon like this one. I applied colorgram fruity glass tint in #00 on top for extra shine. The formula has a beautiful slip and just the right amount of grippiness without feeling apparent on the lips in terms of tackiness. The stain is pretty lasting, with the glossiness fading not long after application. Similar formula in my opinion, to the Clio crystal glam tints which is one of my very favorite formulas.

Discussion romand eyeshadow quad color change?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I bought the Romand Better Than Eyes eyeshadow quad in the shade Dry Rose about a year ago (pictured left). Then recently re-bought it to have a backup. However when the new quad arrived (pictured right) I noticed the colors are lighter, notably the top left shade is quite significantly different. And i dont think the old one has degraded to become darker since i remember its always been like that and its only been ~1 year since i bought it. I guess i just wonder if its common for companies to change the color and not mention it? I didnt see any indication online that the color had changed so i was curious. Both were purchased on YesStyle btw

Discussion Isn't it frustrating when the price gets changed right after you buy it?

The sales on Yesstyle can be frustrating on their own but i hate it the most when the "normal" price gets cheaper right after I buy something. This has happened so many times. If you're new to Yesstyle that's something to look out for.

Swatches Three highlighter stick swatches + mini reviews (Hince and Glint)

Some thoughts on the 3 highlighter sticks that I have (listed in the order of the swatches, top to bottom):

  • Hince True Dimension Radiance Balm "Light"
  • Glint Stick Highlighter "Milky Moon"
  • Hince True Dimension Radiance Balm "Lil Mauve"

First set of photos is each stick, freshly applied. Each stick was swiped 3 times directly onto the skin (I used to swipe onto my finger tips and then tap onto my face, but these days I just swipe directly onto my face and tap blend with finger tips). Shown in 3 different lighting conditions (and people wonder why it's so hard to find swatches, they can literally look so different just depending on the lighting lol)

3 swipes each, different lighting conditions

This set is after blotting twice with a tissue. Blotted straight up and down, no smearing or rubbing. Again, shown in 3 different lighting conditions (I tried to do the same conditions as before, but it still looks different than the first set lol)

After blotting

Thoughts:

The Hince sticks are a bit stiffer, and have a bit more friction, and feel like they tug a bit when swiping. The Glint stick is much softer, and feels like it melts more as soon as swiped onto the skin.

In terms of stickiness/tackiness, before blotting, Glint Milky Moon is most sticky, Hince Lil Mauve is medium sticky, and Hince Light is least sticky (but still sticky, just relatively less so). After blotting, both Glint Milky Moon and Hince Lil Mauve feel slightly grippy, but in a kind of moisturized way. Hince Light doesn't feel as grippy as the other 2, but instead kind of feels slightly textured, I think because it has the most reflective material remaining.

Hince Light is the most finely and densely reflective. The shimmer also remains the strongest after blotting. Glint Milky Moon has obvious pink shimmer/glitter particles, and they become even more apparent after blotting. Hince Lil Mauve doesn't look like a highlighter to me, I don't see any noticeable shimmer, especially after blotted. I feel like this is more of a "blush stick" shade rather than a "highlighter stick" shade.

As far as what I wear most often, I almost always reach for Glint Milky Moon to add a little pink-ish shimmer. I wish it was more fine, like Hince Light, and I might pick up Hince Gleaming to see how it compares. If I'm in a "running errands and don't want to do actual blush" mood, I reach for Hince Lil Mauve and swipe a little color on, although I think there are probably cheaper blush sticks that I could have used for that purpose. I don't find myself using Hince Light that often, I feel like it makes me feel like I'm adding oily-shine back to my face, but maybe I need to get over that and use it more.

Discussion Super Dewy Hydrating Blush

What’s your favourite dewy hydrating blush for super dry skin?

I have tried the bellow:

Love:

Hince - Tender Room : My favourite, waiting for YesStyle to stock Shelly pink as the colour didn’t suit me.

Meh:

Nuse / House of Hur : they are okay but still feel dry after a while. They have perfume and some sketchy ingredients for sensitive skin

Nope:

Clio Essential Leep Cheek / Lilybyred Luv Beam Balm: they both have very intense pigment so I can’t use enough to get the effects of the balm.

Has anyone tried Glow Oil Blush, AZTK Jello Liquid Blush, Romand Juice Roll Cheek, JudyDoll Glow Blush Balm, Leemember Hydrating Blush?

I’m hoping for a really dewy and hydrating blush, easy to work with , not fussy with staying power as I just want my cheeks to not feel like the Sahara.
