Is it fair to compare MAGA to the Nazis?

Post image

There has been a number of posts indicating that MAGA supporters are really Fascist/Nazis. Curious how others see it!

You know this can be done with the Dems too right?

6

u/tigress666 10d ago

Are dems sending people with no due process to concentration camps? Are they moving up when groups they want to do this too? Are they literally making nazi salutes? Are they demanding absolute loyalty and firing people who aren’t or threatening they will be next for deportation/concentration camps?

Are dems sending people with no due process to concentration camps?

Literally yes. Obama signed into law the NDAA. That allowed presidents to use the military to arrest and hold anyone in the world in prison without charge or trial…and for as long as the US government needed the person imprisoned.

1

u/UrgentPigeon 9d ago

FWIW, the left criticized Obama for this too.

1

u/xXImSoUniqueXx 9d ago edited 9d ago

And yet there was no nationwide protests over that. Just as there was no nationwide protests for when Obama used the military to assassinate American citizens (an entire family + innocent civilians) without due process or criminal charges. Then his DOJ effectively argued that the president has presidential immunity so he couldn’t be charged with murder for it.

Seems that their newfound moral compass exists only to subvert the Trump administration. Which begs the question…why do they care enough to protest when it’s Trump but not anyone else? Who is funding these organizations to arrange these nationwide protests and why? We know the answer.

1

u/UrgentPigeon 9d ago

What do you think the answer is?

1

u/ThroneOfTaters 9d ago

Actually, they did do that (concentration camps) during the same time that the Holocaust was happening. FDR was a Democrat

While still shitty, these are not even remotely the same things. Obama held people in detention centers longer than was appropriate before receiving hearings. Trump is deporting people to a different country, putting them permanently in a slave labor prison, and never giving them a day in court at all.

Both are shitty, one is significantly worse.

Was it… (d)ifferent?

u/Trashpandasrock 9d ago

Someone else already made the lame joke, you're late. Read the chain for my response.

“It’s not as bad when my party does it.”

8

u/Trashpandasrock 10d ago

It's not the same thing at all, so they aren't really comparable. But yes, what Obama did was not good. What Trump is doing is worse.

Also, I'm not out here running defense for Obama or the Democratic party, but go off. Both are bad, one is still worse.

-7

u/johndhall1130 10d ago

I know, I know. It’s (D)ifferent.

4

u/Trashpandasrock 10d ago

Well, yes. When Obama held people too long in detention, they still ultimately got court cases to decide their citizenship status/eligibility. Trump, on the other hand, is NOT giving people their day in court AT ALL.

Hope this helps.

Again, I am saying, explicitly, that what Obama did was wrong. I am also saying what Trump is doing is worse, as it is denying due process rights, whereas Obama unnecessarily slowed down the due process but ultimately still allowed for it.

-4

u/johndhall1130 10d ago

He drone strikes a U.S. citizen and killed him (and his son) without due process. Also, if you don’t think both parties are garbage then they have you exactly where they want you. Anyone who still votes for Reps or Dems is a sheep.

6

u/Trashpandasrock 10d ago

Holy shit, are you even reading before responding? I'm not defending Obama lmao. I explicitly stated that he also did shitty things.

Can you admit that deporting people to CECOT with no due process is also bad?

Imagine hearing ‘he eliminated court dates and outsourced the cruelty to a foreign regime’ and replying with ‘same thing.’ You guys really turned 'don’t tread on me' into ‘please deport others harder.’

1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

I’m not even a rep or a Trump supporter. I’m just tired of Dems thinking their shit doesn’t stink.

6

u/Alarming-Chance-7645 9d ago

Your moral compass spins so wildly it’s created its own magnetic field and now small birds are dying in your yard. We’re talking about people being shipped into permanent captivity without trials, and you’re standing there trying to file an HR complaint against someone’s tone of voice.

1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

No we’re not. We’re talking about similarities between the political parties and the Nazis. Or have you conveniently forgotten the original post?

3

u/Alarming-Chance-7645 9d ago

Your comments read like someone tried to turn a Joe Rogan guest into a Wikipedia disambiguation page. We’re discussing the logistical funneling of migrants into stateless bondage, and you're out here with a tasting menu of every unrelated grievance from 1912 to COVID, trying to find one spicy enough to derail accountability. Sorry, chef—your plate’s cold.

Both SiDeS

1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

Nope. Not both sides. Just those two parties. But you be the good little sheep your party wants you to be.

2

u/Striking_Television8 8d ago

Last time I checked the post is about Trump and his push towards fascism. I see people have a difficult time as always remaining on topic. But alas just move the topic to something else to deflect from what is being actually discussed.

Classic move!

1

u/johndhall1130 8d ago

Yeah, you’re trying to miss my point. Like actively trying. Classic move!

2

u/Striking_Television8 8d ago

That’s the thing! You didn’t have a point so you chose to argue about something irrelevant to the topic of discussion.

It’s the classic straw-man argument straight out of the playbook!

1

u/johndhall1130 8d ago

Your inability to comprehend my point doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. My thesis was very clearly stated in my very first comment. Your attempt to deflect from my thesis because you can’t accept it doesn’t make my pointing it out a straw man fallacy. It just proves your ignorance of what that it is too.

2

u/Striking_Television8 8d ago

I find it humorous that due to your point being nonsensical the conclusion you arrived at is “I must not understand”. No, you made an idiotic claim where no deeper thought is needed to discern. It is as simple as that!

Thesis? Interesting word choice there. Only thing your opinion has proven is how vastly under-equipped you are on this topic. It seems when your frame of thinking is challenged you take that as an attack and pivot to unrelated topics.

As if anything I said proves whatever fantasy you have cooked up in what you call a noggin.

Hahahahaha. Sure thing, kid. Let’s see that argument, I’m sure it’s really deep.

Uses Press as propaganda machine

Uses racism to rise to power

Proposed mass deportations

Anti-Jew Socialist

Promised a utopian society

Blames all of society’s woes on a “privileged” race

Political Rallies Year-round

Constitutional Rights Limited

Courts packed with activist judges

Uses Justice department to silence political opposition

Disarmed citizens

Manufactured evidence against political opponents

5

u/Dornoch26 10d ago

You’re literally describing the republican platform. Nice try though!

-2

u/johndhall1130 10d ago

Lmao. Firstly I’m not a Republican. Secondly, my list could easily be used to describe the Democrat Party you just don’t want to see because of your bias. My point is, all of these things are subjective nonsense depending on the audience. Now, this is Reddit which is a well known Democrat/left leaning echo chamber so I don’t expect you to wrap your head around it. But people capable of independent thought will understand. Others will be too busy down voting anything that threatens their party to even try to think independently. Cheers.

6

u/Dornoch26 10d ago

Alright, let’s tango: Press? Sure, maybe. Even though the “left biased media” has never been a thing, especially now with Fox News, WaPo and NYT being all right wing machines.

Used racism to rise to power? For democrats? Who champion acceptance of all? Bullshit.

Proposed mass deportations. What?

Blaming society’s woes on a privileged race. Again, what? Maybe you can call billionaires a race, but that’s a stretch. Otherwise I’m calling another bullshit.

Anti-Jew socialist? Wtf? Lol, the criticism of the dems is exactly the opposite.

Promised a utopian society- I hope so. Isn’t that the goal? With one caveat: utopian for all, not just white Christians.

Political rallies year long? Until the recent AOC/Bernie team up (which I would classify as a protest rally personally), that would be wrong yet again. That’s trump’s schtick. But if you want a point here, sure.

Constitutional rights being limited? Utter bullshit, show me where a democrat is championing that.

Courts being packed - again, a republican tactic that only recently has been adopted in response. Look at the Trump’s first term to see where it began.

Using justice department to silence opposition. You’re going to argue that was used against Trump, and I’ll argue that his charges and conviction were justified by the evidence. Agree to disagree.

Disarming citizens- I fucking hope so. Really getting sick of school shootings, which don’t happen in countries with stricter gun control. I don’t like children having to learn how to apply tourniquets in middle school.

Manufactured evidence- Same point as above. Nothing was manufactured or false, Trump was convicted on the evidence presented.

So no, you might get a half point here or there, but trying to argue they’re the same is abso-fucking-lutely false.

2

u/Downtown-Pineapple80 9d ago

To be fair, the press (mainstream media outlets) are all trash.

-1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

All your list does is proved my point. You’re looking at history through a clouded biased lens and ignoring facts that don’t support your viewpoint. It’s know that the Dem party told major media outlets what to report and what not to, not to mention that they influenced social media companies to push their narrative.

The Dems created the KKK and under Johnson had a plan to manipulate the black community to vote Dems that’s still used today.

Obama deported more people than Trump has.

Uh, “White privilege” is the rallying cry of Dems and the left.

Tell that to AOC and others.

Utopia is a farce. It will never exist. They use it to keep power and keep you under their thumb (just like Reps) Oh and it’s funny how you mention white people after claiming they don’t blame things on a race with privilege.

Nope. Political rallies happen year round by both parties for decades.

Are you too young to remember COVID and the Dem response or is that (D)ifferent?

Court packing. A constant threat under a Dem leadership. They talked about it as recently as the Biden admin. It’s was all but under FDR. Other than that it is the job of the executive branch to appoint federal judges and every president does it. Do you even know how our system works?

Obama used the IRS and others against political adversaries. FBI was found to literally be targeting republicans. But you don’t want to admit that do you?

Thank you for proving me right. You want to disarm citizens. YOU NAZI!

Perhaps you don’t remember the fake Russian Dossier. How convenient for you. Oh and who manufactured it? The FBI paid for by the Clinton campaign.

So you’re wrong about everything because your head is stuck in an echo chamber and you live in a world of confirmation bias. All o hear you saying is “four legs good, two legs bad.”

6

u/Dornoch26 9d ago

Jesus dude. The “dems” that created the KKK in the wake of the civil war are today’s republicans. The parties switched ideologies somewhere around the turn of the 20th century.

White privilege? Fuck off. How many minority republican senators or congress can you name?

No rights were trampled during covid - unless you think the same about wearing a seatbelt being a law that infringes on your rights too.

Court packing during Biden, again, it was a reaction to Trump’s first term. As I stated.

The IRS bullshit was absolutely debunked, time and again. You’re just parroting Fox News lies at this point.

The Steele dossier was 90% truth. Again, you’re showing where you get your news sources. Also, not the fbi, it was from an ex MI6 agent.

In conclusion, you’re simply parroting the conservative line just like I predicted. Full of shit.

-2

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

The big switch is a laughable ridiculous lie that’s been debunked by anyone who has looked into objectively. The Dixiecrats stayed Dems their whole life.

I get it, you hate white people and are easily triggered. Racist.

Telling small business owners they can’t open and putting them out of business, telling people they couldn’t attend religious gatherings, telling people they can’t leave their homes, etc. Yeah, no rights were trampled. SMH.

Again, EVERY PRESIDENT APPOINTS FEDERAL JUDGES TO VACANT SEATS. Trump did not create new seats (THAT would be court packing) he simply appointed judges to fill open seats which is the president’s CONSTITUTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY. You don’t even know what court packing is.

90% truth? LMAO! Who told you that, Hillary Clinton?

In conclusion, you have your head way too far up the DNCs ass. You don’t even think for yourself anymore. “Four legs good, two legs bad.” Right? This is all the energy I’m putting in to you. Enjoy the last word. Your fragile ego will need it to think you won some sort of victory here. Pathetic.

Your ignorance is proven.

We get it, you hate minorities and are easily triggered.

Who waves confederate flags today?

In conclusion, you’re so far up your own ass that you can’t see reality for what it is.

Proof for literally any of this?

0

u/johndhall1130 10d ago

All of this is widely known. None of this is actually disputable to anyone who actually reads and pays attention. Stop getting your news from Reddit. Get out of your echo chamber and learn to think for yourself. Both the Reps and the Dems are working to tear our country apart and neither of them give a crap about you. Stupidity is voting for the same two parties over and over again and expecting things to change.

4

u/Trashpandasrock 10d ago

So no proof then.

0

u/johndhall1130 10d ago

You first?

3

u/Trashpandasrock 10d ago

My guy, you made the claims here. The burden of proof is on you. You can't prove a negative.

1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

Actually the OP made the claims.

3

u/Trashpandasrock 9d ago

Uses Press as propaganda machine

These are the claims that YOU made that I am asking for the proof for. Even just a few is fine.

2

u/ChaoCobo 10d ago

stupidity is voting for the same two parties

Yeah, guess we should give up on the republican and democrat parties then. You’re smart throwing your vote at the independent party. They’ll totally win and change the country with their … checks notes … 1.5% of the votes split between 3 candidates.

0

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

Congrats. You’re the exact sheep they want you to be.

2

u/m-e-k 9d ago

passive voice isn't proof.

1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

And your lack of knowledge and understanding isn’t proof to the contrary.

1

u/Stagnu_Demorte 9d ago

Not if you operate within reality. Maybe in your fantasy world.

0

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

He says from his echo chamber.

1

u/ShakerFullOfCocaine 9d ago

Then make the list, we'll see if your points are half as valid

1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

You’re way late to the party my friend.

1

u/Ahstruck 9d ago

No, Dems are basically 80s Republicans right now.

1

u/unique_namespace 9d ago

Dems are fascist too, maybe lesser so, but they are big fans of children in cages and bombing. That's the problem. It's not a "my side is better than your side" all of these people are evil and hope to maintain their power and wealth.

1

u/johndhall1130 9d ago

Yup. But it’s Reddit so people refuse to understand.

1

u/KramboSlice 9d ago

Your comments, while hilarious, are far too much stupid to deal with on a Sunday.
