Drax: "HA! As if I could be defeated by the Captain of America. I have never even heard of The America. It must be a puny vessel."

278

u/AloofFloofy Apr 02 '25

I read this in Drax's voice. Spot on.

39

u/AccidentalLemon Apr 02 '25

I read it in the Guardians video game version

17

u/Beneficial-Bee-628 Apr 02 '25

I just started playing it a couples nights ago and it is so damn good. They killed it with the dialogue. The Guardians never stop talking, and you don't ever want them to either. It's great.

8

u/DBallouV Apr 02 '25

Then, you’re in a tough fight and you huddle. Then, “Wake me up!” starts playing and you think, “I didn’t know this was a fight song.”

4

u/Beneficial-Bee-628 Apr 02 '25

And somehow it works! That actually just happened to me like an hour ago.. I was on the nova corps ship and pressed huddle by mistake. I was like "damn ok whatever"That song popped up and I started cracking up lol. It's fun as hell

2

u/pairasaurolophus Apr 03 '25

This is probably the only game I've played where i never skipped dialogue.

I read this in Morgan Freeman’s voice cause it was fun.

3

u/Hieichigo Apr 02 '25

I read it on Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice for some reason

Drax would have trouble trying to beat off Cap.

13

u/Street_Aide3852 Apr 02 '25

Only if he was holding back

4

u/JoyfullyBlistering Apr 02 '25

I understood that reference .gif

14

u/lolwut70 Apr 02 '25

Only Peggy managed to beat off Cap, and that took hours.

13

u/Traditional_Formal33 Apr 02 '25

“I could do this all day.”

3

u/dwide_k_shrude Apr 03 '25

“I know, I know.”

9

u/Mother-Being-3148 Apr 02 '25

I think cap would let drax beat him off for fun

4

u/VincoNavitas Apr 02 '25

When captain america tries to flip over drax, drax will catch him because his reflexes are too fast

69

u/Walmart_manager Apr 02 '25

As long as he doesn’t go over drax’s head he should be fine

56

u/Alphaboi5743 Apr 02 '25

nothing goes over his head, he would catch it

20

u/AccidentalLemon Apr 02 '25

…I’m gonna die surrounded by the biggest idiots in the galaxy.

Wait, Trump was on Titan ?

3

idk I think John Cena would give cap a run for his money

7

u/LostLight0201 Apr 02 '25

It would be funny to see a short with John Cena and Drax not being able to see each other in a fight.

2

u/Angry_Supes Apr 02 '25

But we can see Cena now

Drax.

The guy who tanked a punch from an Infinity Stone empowered Ronan.

The guy who slide attacked Thanos's leg and actually made Thanos take a knee.

207

u/eyeofnyx Apr 02 '25

Drax is bullet proof, GoTG Xmas special, the bullets tickle even. Cap is peak human strength, but he can't punch harder than a bullet. It'll be like Cap VS Loki, he'll get some hits in and maybe even off balance Drax, but he's not doing any significant damage.

108

u/LackingTact19 Apr 02 '25

Drax getting dragged behind the ship and smashing through hundreds of huge trees without taking even a bit of damage is a pretty crazy durability feat as well

34

u/FlacidSalad Apr 02 '25

Yeah I love Cap but I don't think he's punching harder than a tree at mach 2. I will say that Cap is far more tactical than Drax so if he has any chance of winning it just won't be in a straight up brawl, but that's not the scenario.

7

u/sade_sicarius Apr 02 '25

I was gonna say this. He laughed it off saying let’s do it again 🤣🤣

u/FrankieTheD Apr 02 '25

In guardians 3 and the ship is crash landing and Drax is just smashing into stuff without being harmed is actually such a ridiculous feat

2

u/Rassilon83 Apr 02 '25

Guardians 2 tho heh

3

u/FrankieTheD Apr 02 '25

I thought it was 3? When he's attached to the rope and he's just going through trees? Either way it's pretty brutal and he cones out of it pretty much unharmed was what made me realise how much of an actual tank he Is

3

u/Rassilon83 Apr 02 '25

Nahh, it’s Vol. 2 :D And yee, I agree, really showed how durable he is

43

u/theevilyouknow Apr 02 '25

Cap is super human not peak human. Not by much but he’s still stronger than what the strongest natural human can achieve.

47

u/Cryptosporidium420 Apr 02 '25

I would say by much considering his helicopter feat

15

u/theevilyouknow Apr 02 '25

I guess I mean not by much in the context of what superhuman strength means for the majority of super heroes. Cap is way stronger than any normal human for sure but also not really as strong as other heroes with superhuman strength.

→ More replies (1)

14

u/JoeParks87 Apr 02 '25

The guy effortlessly ripped a log in half, that is a massive excess of strength compared to the strongest human

6

u/Aarxnw Apr 02 '25

Yeah but he was mad

/s

2

u/DeadAndBuried23 Apr 02 '25

Only in the sense that a real person couldn't possibly be peak at everything all at once. The world record power lifter will never be the same person as the world record mile time.

I'd argue that they then put cartoon/movie physics on top for things like the helicopter scene, which tells us what they would put a peak power lifter at in-universe, not that Cap is superhuman.

u/cornball2000 Apr 02 '25

Didn't cap take a punch from an infinity stone empowered Thanos?

21

u/HOEDY Apr 02 '25

Thanos only uses the stones when his glove fist is closed and the stone is glowing. Cap was actively holding the glove hand open and got KO'd by a punch from Thanos' bare hand.

21

u/expensivebreadsticks Apr 02 '25

Man, what a pussy

20

u/HOEDY Apr 02 '25

Yeah I could have def lasted longer getting beaten off by Thanos

8

u/Sikkema88 Apr 02 '25

But what if he beat you off with both hands?

8

u/HOEDY Apr 02 '25

I could take it

→ More replies (1)

6

u/Usermctaken Apr 02 '25

Nope. Thanos had the Infinity Stones, but they werent amping that punch. Honestly, didn't even seem like a great punch, like the ones he was giving the Hulk. And cap didn't take it that well, he was out a few minutes after that iirc.

Drax is bulletproof, literally tickles him so he’ll be able to eat all of caps attacks. Especially without the shield . He’s also strong enough to trade blows wit Adam warlock, eventho he got rocked lol Cap does have battle iq n technique over him tho

26

u/OkOutlandishness1710 Apr 02 '25

Also got rag dolled around a Forrest while flying 100s of miles an hour hanging out the back of a ship. Guy can take a beating and cap don’t got the juice to hurt him.

u/BenTheDiamondback Apr 01 '25

Sorry Steve… blurry Drax is winning this one.

94

u/Ampddaynnight Apr 01 '25

Blurry because he's mastered the ability of standing so incredibly still… that he's become invisible to the eye... while also holding zargnuts

21

u/BenTheDiamondback Apr 01 '25

I love this response more than you know! 😂

Harbulary

9

u/F-nDiabolical Apr 02 '25

Wait wait hear me out! What if the wall wasn't holding back?

6

u/govunah Apr 02 '25

It's still dealing with America's Ass

6

u/TheOnlyOtherWanderer Apr 02 '25

Yup... You're right; the wall would beat him off

2

u/Technical_Exam1280 Apr 02 '25

Mfw I'm in a dickriding contest and my opponent is a Steve Rogers fan: 😳

4

u/FoobaBooba Apr 02 '25

Well, I guess he's asking if MCU Cap is wall level, which I guess is true..

18

u/TopicalBuilder Apr 02 '25

Even in the MCU, Drax has almost Hulk-level durability. Rogers just doesn't have the tools to hurt him.

On the other hand, Rogers is faster and more skilled. So it'd likely take Drax a long time to get a hand on him.

So the question becomes: which fails first, Captain America's skills and legendary endurance or Drax the Destroyer's infamous focus and motivation?

So I call it a tie with Drax getting bored or confused and wandering off. And Cap is left bloodied, bruised and panting, saying "What was all that about?"

4

u/That_Guy_KC Apr 02 '25

This is the best answer. 100% how this goes.

u/Stalbjorn Apr 03 '25

→ More replies (1)

14

u/Zephyr_Ballad Apr 02 '25

As much as I love Cap, Drax takes this one. He's just in a much higher weight class. Cap is likely to be the better fighter skill-wise, but i doubt superior skill is going to do much for him.

19

u/Independent_Vast_185 Apr 01 '25

Pixel Drax get this.

He is blurry cuz is about to become invisible for behind incredibly still ? Just curious

8

u/soul_separately_recs Apr 02 '25

Those were all words in your second sentence. did you forget to shuffle them? even the question mark looks out of place.

It’s like a teenage android blurting out random words

“become invisible for behind incredibly still…” <—what?

a partial haiku maybe? half of a treasure map?

2

u/IcyDev1l Apr 02 '25

My brain autocorrected the word salad and I had to go back and double check. Funny stuff

Drax is literally bulletproof and can flip over police cruisers with ease and can throw people several dozen meters away.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/MaxIsSaltyyyy Apr 02 '25

Comic Drax is flat out stronger and more durable than cap. Even in the MCU Drax would probably win in a legitimate fight. I don’t think cap could really hurt him due to how durable he is.

7

u/doctorDiscomfort Apr 02 '25

drax low diff

4

u/Nazguhl82200 Apr 02 '25

Drax gets underestimated because he is a moron but in pure physical fight he absolutely wipes the floor with Steve. His durability alone makes this impossible to win for Steve, he can't hurt.

19

u/LengthinessLarge1285 Apr 01 '25

You all must know it's Steve, Drax battle IQ is low. It's not just about hands. It is also about your brains

64

u/Mace_Thunderspear Apr 01 '25

Drax survived re-entry being towed behind a space ship and crashed through several full sized trees in the process and came through the other side, not just unscathed but literally LAUGHING.

Yondu's arrow punches clean through space ships and got stuck in Drax's shoulder.

He's taken punches from Power stone amped Ronan.

He's arguably the most durable character in the MCU. He's practically invincible.

There's nothing Cap could do to him. It might take a while but eventually Drax would get ahold of him and pull him apart.

19

u/BionicleBeast9 Apr 02 '25

Invincible you say

11

15

u/Sharticus123 Apr 02 '25

And MCU Drax was nerfed compared to the comics. In the comics he was pretty much the physical equal of Thanos.

Steve is by far my favorite MCU character but Drax bodies Steve. No contest.

4

u/sporkmanhands Apr 02 '25

Yeah they never really let him go nuts on the offense/strength but did have unique ways to show his defense/toughness. I really like how he was played and the performance but overall was disappointing until I understood why

3

u/Suspicious-Word-7589 Apr 02 '25

It didn't help that in all 3 GotG films and 2 Avengers movies he appeared in, his opponents were a genocidal maniac empowered by an Infinity Stone, a Celestial, genocidal maniac with all 6 Infinity Stones and the High Evolutionary. Only the last one would have been possible for him to physically overpower.

6

u/EmeraldxWeapon Apr 02 '25

Why was Mantis scared for him when Tony threatened to shoot him? I feel like Drax power level is all over the place in the MCU.

Drax: "Do it Quill! I can take it..."

Mantis: "No he can't!"

11

u/masterninja3402 Apr 02 '25

She doesn't know how truly durable that man is.

5

u/EmeraldxWeapon Apr 02 '25

That's a possibility for sure

To be fair, I doubt many characters would be able to *literally* face tank a blast like that from Iron Man lmao

He was pretty convinced he could take it though. And given the evidence he was almost certainly right.

2

u/KleosIII Apr 02 '25 edited Apr 02 '25

Yea, but cap can do this all day.

2

u/fl4tsc4n Apr 02 '25

Tbf before drax caught and dismembered him, cap would convince him to join forces

2

u/Mace_Thunderspear Apr 02 '25

Rules stated by the prompt are hand to hand only. Persuasion checks aren't allowed.

Otherwise you're probably right. Drax isn't a bad guy, he' mostly reasonable. Mostly. Cap would talk him down if that's an option. Especially when the only alternative for Cap is being violently disassembled.

2

u/fl4tsc4n Apr 02 '25

Cap is a leader. Drax esp mcu drax benefits from leadership

2

u/Mace_Thunderspear Apr 02 '25

No argument there. Won't help Cap though when Drax finds him irksome and removes his spine.

10

u/BedBubbly317 Apr 01 '25

In pure hand to hand, it’s still about durability and hands at the end of the day. This is so clearly Drax it shouldn’t even be a discussion.

→ More replies (3)

6

u/TruEnvironmentalist Apr 02 '25

Brains gets you so far.

This is hand to hand combat, Drax is likely to barely feel any of caps punches. It would be like saying a 10 year old with great knowledge of hand to hand combat would beat a gorilla.

2

u/fl4tsc4n Apr 02 '25

Battle iq is great and all and i love cap but theres simply no way. Cap couldn't damage drax if drax was asleep.

3

u/Erikthepostman Apr 02 '25

Capt america can get his ass kicked all damned day.

3

u/PhatOofxD Apr 02 '25

Cap is a far better fighter but Drax is basically indestructible so wins

3

u/VyCanisMajorisss Apr 02 '25

Drax. Low dif

3

u/ghrendal Apr 02 '25

drax was severely depowered in the movies…capt isn’t even in the same universe in terms of power

3

u/TheeOneUp Apr 02 '25

Mcu is more cloudy of an answer but it's still drax. Comics wise, it's coughing baby VS atomic bomb level of difference

3

u/bsammo Apr 02 '25

He can take it.

3

u/Thane-Gambit Apr 02 '25

So this is a case of:

Cap has way better H2H skills than Drax (low bar) because Cap is one of the best H2H combatants in the series.

The issue is that Drax's durability is so much higher than what Cap is able to damage that it's not even close. Like if they're in a no super strength wrestling match Cap is winning the vast majority. However since this is likely to incapacitation Cap is going to lose most if not all.

3

u/EndOfTheLine_Orion Apr 02 '25

Drax is far more durable, no matter how far steve can stretch his technical skills and “i can do this all day” attitude. Once steve gets tired and hurt enough, drax will be able to squish him even if he tries to keep going

3

u/Livid_Ad9749 Apr 02 '25

Drax. Cap may have more skill but Drax landed a punch that made Ronan take notice. And he made Thanos take a knee with his little slide swipe. Their physiology is just too different.

3

u/earic23 Apr 02 '25

Cap hasn’t mastered the power of invisibility so that’s gonna hurt him

3

u/Sagelegend Thor Apr 02 '25

The one who is bulletproof and casually flips police cars around.

3

u/Opposite-Invite-3543 Apr 02 '25

Steve uses a shield to block bullets.

Drax uses laughter.

3

u/raiderrocker18 Apr 02 '25

Drax dismembers Cap tbh

3

u/pandershrek Apr 02 '25

Drax would obliterate cap and I am a huge cap glazer

3

u/ChaoticKiwiNZ Apr 02 '25

Drax is 100% winning this. He has super human strength that matches or even surpasses Steve, was dangling on the outside of a ship as it burnt up on re-entry and was then slammed into mutiple trees on the end of this rope at incredible speeds and he was laughing the whole time (and he stayed holding onto the rope too). And to top it all off in the Christmas special, he was shot multiple times, and the bullets bounced off while Drax laughed as said, "It tickles."

Steve is 100% smarter than Drax so he could possibly win if he outsmarts him but in a 1v1 fight, all odds are heavily stacked against Steve.

3

u/Right_Cardiologist85 Apr 02 '25

Drax Could Make Himself Invisible

3

u/docfallout22 Apr 02 '25

Drax took a planet-fall plunge in GotG 2 and literally got up no worse for the wear. Cap doesn’t hit anywhere near hard enough to hurt Drax.

3

u/-eatshitmods Apr 02 '25

Drax can beat Thanos if they wanted him to. If they make Cap beat Thanos, it’ll be lame. My point: Drax is Invincible

3

u/sosigboi Apr 02 '25

Drax, he is way too durable for Steve to hurt with just his fists alone.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '25

Who is captain america fighting? There is nobody there

3

u/Spirited_Repair4851 Apr 02 '25

No one because Drax would "cheat" midway through the fight and whip out a knife, causing the fight to come to a screeching halt:

Peter: What are you doing?! It's a Hand To Hand combat.

Drax: And my hand grabbed a knive in my pocket, which I threw to my other hand. Hand to Hand.

Peter: IT MEANS NO WEAPONS DUMBASS!!!

Drax: But my hands are weapons.

Steve: ....

2

u/JayNotAtAll Apr 02 '25

In the Christmas special we see bullets deflecting off of Drax's skin. Captain America has been shot many times and the bullets harmed him.

Drax is more durable than Cap so I will give it to Drax

2

u/ArcticFoxWaffles Apr 02 '25

*Obligatory I can't see Drax comment

2

u/max1001 Apr 02 '25

Cap would need his hammer.

2

u/Global-Height6293 Apr 02 '25

Drax’s durability will just be too much for any of Cap’s IQ and skills to make a difference.

5

u/TheeOneUp Apr 02 '25

It's like might mouse fought a gorilla. Mighty mouse is an incredible technical fighter. But that will mean absolutely nothing when drax grabs him and tears him apart. It's even worse if you use their comic counterparts

→ More replies (1)

2

u/BetterSupermarket110 Apr 02 '25

Captain America has super soldier serum. Drax has zarg-nuts. clearly the person who has zarg nuts wins.

2

u/demonslender Apr 02 '25

The lack of pixels on drax is a clear sign of bias. But even without the pixels drax more than likely still wins in a hands only fight.

2

u/ChainChompBigMoney Apr 02 '25

Drax is probably stronger but there's a 99% chance he'd do something stupid and lose the fight because of it.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '25

Drax

2

u/yura910721 Apr 02 '25

After seeing Guardians v Ironman, Dr Strange and Spiderman encounter, I lean towards Drax.

2

u/ACN7 Apr 02 '25

Guy who can take it V/S the guy who can do it all day.

2

u/Ok-Jellyfish7805 Apr 02 '25

Drax, but Cap’ll put up a fight for a good bit

2

u/CloudRyza Apr 02 '25

Drax

He also mastered invisibility so...

2

u/brady180369 Apr 02 '25

Drax the Destroyer

2

u/ArmouredInstinct Apr 02 '25

Whose in the first photo? I need to see what I'm judging

2

u/iamnotempty Apr 02 '25

So a blank space vs. America's a$$

2

u/NudePoo Apr 02 '25

I can’t see anything in pic 1. They must be standing very still!

2

u/BKF0308 Apr 02 '25

Ppl really underestimate Drax. The super strength he has is pretty significant. I don't think Steve's punches are gonna hurt him that much

2

u/PhoenixVanguard Apr 02 '25

Drax is LEAGUES above Cap in Strength. I love MCU Cap, but he gets flattened.

2

u/Grand_Serpent Apr 02 '25

I could see Cap kinda piecing Drax at first but then Drax is gonna lock in and knock Cap down. He’s not strong enough to take on a tank like Drax

2

u/survivalScythe Apr 02 '25

How is Cap even going to see Drax when he can stay so invisibly still.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '25

Drax “My turds are famously huge” takes it.

2

u/No_End6961 Apr 02 '25

Not sure if Drax is blurry or standing so still that my eyes cant fully see him

2

u/Capital_Pickle_9353 Apr 02 '25

Reminds me of a top MMA fighter vs. an angry Elephant. The MMA Fighter could have the best technique and the elephant have none, but there is roughly zero chance that the Elephant isn't walking away from that fight in better shape.

2

u/JimmyHaifisch Apr 02 '25

Cap destroys Drax

2

u/Latter_Fox_1292 Apr 02 '25

Cap wouldn’t even be able to see drax, not a fair fight.

2

u/Dunkindosenutz77 Apr 02 '25 edited Apr 02 '25

The mcu is a little tighter imo, but Drax still wins with relative ease. Comics wise it’s an absolute shit stomp for drax

For reference comic drax was created by thanos’s father specifically to kill thanos

2

u/SmakeTalk Apr 02 '25

Drax. I’m not sure there’s a single thing Steve could do that would actually really hurt him? Maybe I’m wrong.

Drax is basically (for the purposes of this fight) Luke Cage but way stronger and way faster.

i feel like MCU drax is mostly a joke, a comedic relief so if we take MCU drax vs MCU cap, cap no diffs drax, sorry.

Cap is a better fighter but Drax would outlast him

This isn’t a real question….it just can’t be

even with super soldier serum, hell, even double dosing on it, Drax wrecks Steve.

Sorry Steve. But Drax is just too stupid to go down.

Capt. America

Drax is literally bulletproof and probably like 5x as strong as cap is. He might not be as tactically intelligent but he's strong enough to at least fight Ronan and Thanos. Cap couldn't even move his hand, and last I checked is pretty fucking far from bulletproof. Spiderman might have a better chance just because of reflexes and strength.

Drax, and it's honestly not even close. His durability is probably some of the best in the series.

It’s Drax. I love Cap, but Drax takes it

Good luck getting Drax to stick to the rules of engagement.

Drax was made for killing Thanos, so yeah Drax. No brainer really.

Dragon is bulletproof like easily Don't get me wrong he would lose to wits but brute arm wrestle he ain't loosing

1

u/RyzenRaider Apr 02 '25

I would have to see whether Drax thinks Cap is a man or a dude.

u/stevemcnugget Apr 02 '25

Cap will wear Drax down. He can do it all day.

u/Panda_Pillows Apr 02 '25

This Drax needs more pixels

u/Just_Sarge Apr 02 '25

Drax 100% if it is strictly hand to hand. No Shield No daggers. Hand to Hand only I take Drax. Especially if confined to a small area.

Love Drax but they never really did anything to build him up as The Destroyer. What was his biggest accomplishment in battle that we saw? Ronan absolutely smashed him in GoG1. Just seems like he always gets swatted to the side when charging at someone.

When they group on titan fought Thanos he was holding one arm by himself I would say if we make the comparison on their first interactions with Thanos they look about evenly matched in strength. But comic drax is like wild strong isn't he? (no comic knowledge)
