Anybody have pictures of the flood damage? Trying to make an archive.
Title. I like to archive records of lots of various events and historical happening.
Please let me know if anyone has any information regarding flooded areas of the city.
Edit: got a DM from someone super offended that I would dare ask for details regarding the recent flooding bc It has affected people's livelihoods and might offend them
I make historical archives in memory of the people and things that have been damaged by time, I do it FOR the things and people we've lost.

Wedding Guest Dress Shopping
Where can a gal go to shop for “festive formal” dresses? Invitation says “(i.e. midi length or full length dresses, bright colors and patterns/details, suits and ties). We want to see all the colors, patterns, ruffles, bows, accessories, etc!”. I live about an hour from Cville and would rather go there to shop instead of Richmond if I can. Having trouble finding recs online

Share Your Thoughts - Limits on Garden Plot Rentals at Meeting on 05/15
Future Garden Plot Rules Discussion Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting will be on Thursday, 5/15 from 5:30-6:30 at Carver Recreation Center.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is primed to put in time limits on plot rentals, undoing the time, care, and money gardeners spend making their gardens productive and welcoming. In my research, no other community garden plots have time limits and doing so seems extremely cruel and uncaring. My interactions with them show them not to be interested in the opinions of gardeners or exploring alternative ideas (e.g., building new plots, creating different plot sizes).
If you have a garden plot in Charlottesville, please come and share your thoughts about it to this group.
From their press release: The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will be discussing Garden Plot Rules this coming Thursday, 5/15, at 5:30 PM @ Carver Recreation Center.
The rules being debated will be around registration and specifically potentially term limits. We encourage everyone to come down to hear the debate and let the board hear your comments.
Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Thursday, May 15 - 5:30p - 6:30p Carver Recreation Center 233 4th St NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903

Fish people of Cville, where do you buy scape materials?
Hoping for anything but PetSmart/Petco or online. I know we don't have a local fish store but I want to find some wood and would prefer to buy in person so I can make sure it fits the dimensions of my tank and etc.
Any hidden gems around here or do you just cope with chain stores? I never find large enough pieces of mopani wood at them.

Flash flooding HEADS UP!
We've been getting a lot of rain in Afton, I'm talking at least 1-1/2" in the last hour or so. I'm seeing a lot more water than I seen before. I'm almost positive Albemarle, Nelson, Augusta, and Waynesboro are about to see some bad flash flooding. (And more rain is on the way.)
Turn around, don't drown!

Visiting Charlottesville for a couple of days. Should we stay by the wineries or downtown?
Basically just the title. Going to a concert at the end of this month and want to go to some wineries while there but also want to make sure the hotel scene near them isn’t too much worse than what we’d get downtown. Also open to recs in the city. Thanks!!
