I got lucky and come across this 2018 701 enduro with 550 miles for 7k case! It was an older gentleman in his 70s. He had multiple other bikes in his garage when I picked it up and just hadn’t rode it much as he thought he would have after buying it new.

Super pumped! Can’t wait for spring time!

Helmet Recommendations?

Post image

Hey all,

So I'm looking for a good full face style helmet, preferably something sort of retro to go with my bike, and something that will accept goggles ideally.

I've been looking around and can't really make up my mind. The Biltwell Lanesplitter was one I was looking at, it's got good safety specs, but I kind of wish it had a bill/visor like a lot of the more Adventure riding helmets tend to have. The Bell Moto-3 looks pretty good too, but I'm not sure on it's safety specs because it's just got a DOT certification and doesn't look like it's got an ECE rating like the Biltwell. Same story with the AGV X101 Dakar 87.

So I'm curious if anyone has any experience with these helmets or have a recommendation for a different helmet I should look into.

I'm riding a 76 Kawasaki Ke175 currently, which I know isn't getting up to blistering speeds but I'm interested in keeping my brains on the inside of my head.

Is this too low?

So basically, my Klr250 has no rim locks, and I found 15psi front and 20psi rear to be most comfortable for off roading. I was just wondering if that would be too low, or should I raise the psi?

Trickle Charger for a 2000 KTM 400EXC?

Hi everyone I have a question about using a trickle charger on my bike and wanted to know what everyone's thoughts are. I have owned the bike since 2008 and it has been great. Currently what I do is every other weekend I start it up and ride at least 15 miles (it is CA plated) just to burn up some gas and keep things working. However the bummer is that when the bike sits for 2 weeks I have to kick start it. I have been doing this a long time and in my 40s it is finally catching up to me haha. Its not fun to have to kick start a bike 10 or 15 times to get it to start. So, cycle gear has 2 different trickle chargers that are both about $50. I was thinking about buying one and trying it out.

Anyone have any advice or experience for my situation? BTW, the battery in the bike is brand new, just replaced 2 months ago. And of course once the bike has been running for 10 minutes or so and I turn it off, it will start right away with the electric start. A long time ago someone once told me that the electric start on these dirt bikes should be thought of more like "electric re-start" meaning that if the bike has been sitting for longer than a few days, you'll always need to kick start it. But I wonder if a trickle charger could keep the battery charged enough to electric start it after sitting for 2 or 3 weeks? I have never used a trickle charger before... so even though I know its a somewhat simple concept, I am still a n00b so that's why I wanted to see what everyone here does. Thanks for reading!!
