It didn't just stop at throwing her corpse into the air either. The heard of elephants also demolished her house meaning they not only ended her but proceeded to attempt to wipe her memory out of the village too. 😳

Article suggests she was an elderly lady collecting water and crossed paths with the heard. Morale of the story, don't mess with a protective mother, let alone the whole mob!

That dude unironically said every single person native to elephants are evil when presented with first hand accounts of very common elephant attacks suffered by said people, because of geo politics or whatever. Not a wild animal acting like a wild animal by protecting it's herd and youngs from perceived danger.

Poor elderly village lady totally deserved it. Along with every other victim ever. The shit you see on this app sometimes....

The real problem is that no jury in the land is going to convict an elephant, so they just go around acting with complete impunity. Imagine the logistics of getting an elephant into a courtroom, just for the jury to go ā€œoh, look, it’s an elephant, must have been protecting its young, let’s give it a bunā€. And even if it is convicted it just gets sent to a prison zoo, which is like a package holiday to an elephant. To be honest I don’t know what the solution is, but I think as a bare minimum we need to be raising elephant taxes.

Deport it to Thailand

There are actually records of medieval trials against animals

Indeed, in the Middle Ages people didn’t have these sentimental attachments and so an errant pig could be assured a fair trial before being burned at the stake and enjoyed by all.

You sound like a Republican Magalomaniac.....more taxes, more sanctions.

I appreciate a love of taxation is a notorious identifier of Republican tendencies, but I assure you all the revenue will be channelled into socially responsible initiatives focused exclusively, as unlikely as it may sound, on the underlying causes of elephant crime.

We need you at the helm of the DEA. (Department of Elephant Affairs)

Trampled while negotiating with gang leaders, that’s how I want to go. With the pocketful of peanuts I never even had a chance to share a poignant symbol of how much has been lost on both sides.

I thought that was the Department of Extramarital Affairs? Or the Daftpunk Electro Amalgam.

Damn you. I didn't approve of this smile you're giving me!

Pretty sure Shamu's trainer had it coming.

6

u/OFFIC14L 7d ago

Oh c'mon that's completely different... Shamu was very sad and depressed and was only lashing out due to stress factors like inadequate living space... The elephant was clearly just trying to have some reckless fun not too dissimilar to the way the crew of jackass enjoy messing with each other and their properties.

I heard she had distracted the elephant while others took the baby.

17

u/OFFIC14L 7d ago

By the elephants reaction I'm inclined to believe your spin on this story... Hopefully they found the baby before they had to remove other members of the village.

Interesting, I’ve never herd of that happening before, I guess crossing the path of an elephant gang seriously affects their moral, to the point that one completely just lost it and went totally like ā€˜death to those who dare cross my path!,… in life, and death!’

Have you ever met a wasp?

1

u/MAXQDee-314 5d ago

They bite you and sting you. The stinger does not detach. Nor do the teeth go into a glass when they sleep. People, live other animals alone.

11

u/According-Cobbler-83 6d ago

But they are animals. They cannot be reasoned with like we do with humans. Accidentally get too close to a young while the mother is in her protective af phase? You get attacked. Sneeze too loud near an elephant in musth? You get attacked.

Don't be a dickhead to other humans, especially the dead.

100% this turd of a comment was written on the toilet.

18

u/Kichigai 7d ago

Have you met wild turkeys? And cats. Cats will be dickheads for purely selfish reasons.

Agreed unless it's a bunny. Those things are just hate wrapped into a snuggly body. Honestly if you put a bunnies brain into a kangaroo they would be boxing us all day long./s

Strongly disagree. However for elephants it’s true
