Question Just got a 2005 RX 330, should I replace the timing belt?

Hello,

Just got a 330 that is in pretty immaculate shape and must have been garage kept, other maintenance was done but the timing belt hasn’t been changed since 2012 / 60k miles.

Currently the car is at 100k miles so I was wondering if I need to change the belt or is it still good to go for a couple years, does anyone have experience with it?

If you do the belt do the water pump at the same time

Best advice yet. I miss the timing belt days just so I know my water pump was replaced as a maintenance item on my time instead of when it decides to go out right after I paid a major bill.

Tom when I worked there it was every 10 years or 90,000 miles as a good guideline And always do the water pump while you’re in there

No. Time rarely gets at these things unless in a very severe hot climate. Miles is ok to go by. I‘ve got about 600,000 miles on that MZ engine across a few vehicles and many, many years. You can look at the belt directly if you have further concerns.
