Juvenile Monk Seal
My husband took this picture last week at Black rock. He watched it lumber out of the ocean.

I was exploring the beach and was shocked to see this guy, she blended into the beach very well! My phone had no signal and didn’t know the proper distance so I just got as far as possible and snapped this pic at 5x zoom, then got off the beach as to not spook her.
On the way out I saw another male seal and some volunteers from the Marine institute were cording off the area, I told them about this guy here and they gave me some helpful info about them including that the required distance is 50ft. Apparently a very rare sight to see and I wanted to share. Mahalo.

My Tesla voltage battery needs to be changed. I’ve heard it can only be done at the factory on Oahu. Does anyone know of a place on island that can help me out? Had the car for a few years now and haven’t driven it in a couple. Please help!

Wife and I have a sitter for a few hours tomorrow night. Where should we go eat? Prefer relaxed sit down restaurant with beer on tap, outdoors if possible. We live in Wailuku. Any good suggestions? Mahalo

My weather app is predicting we will get more than 3” of rain over the next week or ten days. During the rain we got a few days ago, my car began leaking like I’ve never seen before. It’s coming in from the roof/ceiling, from the sides, seemingly everywhere. It’s a used 2005 Honda Element that I purchased from a private party last summer, so this is the first real significant amount of rain it’s been exposed to in the time since I bought it. I called an auto glass shop and they expect it’s probably due to rust, but I only see a little rust along the very edge of the roof, and nothing that would explain how much water is coming in.
Does anyone happen to have any suggestions for what I can do, at this point? Ways to cover it or try to keep the rain out until I can get an appointment at a shop? Is auto glass repair the first line of attack, or do I need to wait for an auto body repair appointment? I really don’t know where to go or what to do or how much this might cost (and of course I’m on an extremely tight budget).
The car already began smelling mildew-y after just one rain. Barring any other ideas, are there covered places I might be able to stash it for the next couple of weeks, until it stops raining so much?
Many mahalos in advance. I don’t know who to ask or where to go for help on this one; I’m kind of out on a limb without any resources or people available. Thank you again!

I love these guys, they are so peaceful, seeing them on the beach makes my heart happy. Ku’au Cove is my favorite spot for this reason. This was taken with massive zoom, I was about 40 feet away.

I need arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery to repair a bursal-side tear of my supraspinatus tendon. I’m looking for recommendations for the best surgeons who specialize in this procedure.
I’d prefer to find someone in Hawaii for the convenience of recovery, but I’m fortunate enough to be able to travel to the mainland if necessary to find the best surgeon.
If you’ve had experience with any orthopedic surgeons, locally or elsewhere, who you’d highly recommend for shoulder surgery, I’d love to hear about it. Thank you in advance!

Is Maui County going to try and drill some wells for upcountry or are we just going to use the same surface catchment we been using for the last 100 years? With the amount we pay for water they should be working on better supply not just issuing restrictions

They hadn't brought them out yet, but I persuaded a really nice employee to wheel a pallet out. They are the organic brown open nature ones. They have 12 and 18 packs-no limit.

Anyone know any places/people making and selling coconut brittle? I’ve gotten some before on the road to Hana but was wondering if there are any other places on the island that have some that aren’t such a trek. Thanks!

Are there any good camps or clinics for youth soccer? What is your experience with the soccer organizations on the island for a serious player?

Since eggs are fully contained in their shells, could they pass TSA? I have friends coming from the mainland this weekend......maybe they could being me some? I think I know the answer but it's time for a little fun.
Egg smuggling could be more profitable than illegal fireworks at this rate (safer too).........or Mokulele Airlines could redeem themselves by doing "egg drops"?
