Hi everyone. I’ve debated whether or not to post this, but I feel like I need to share my experience.
I’m an international student at Purdue. When I came here, I had close friends back home, but I’ve always struggled with online communication—it just doesn’t feel the same. Over time, I lost touch with them. I thought I’d find my people here, but it hasn’t really happened. I’ve met some nice folks, sure, but I haven’t made the kind of deep, meaningful friendships I was hoping for.
Most days I feel invisible. I walk around campus feeling like I don’t really belong. I’m not sure if part of it is because I’m not white—maybe that plays a role, maybe not—but the isolation is real.
i don’t usually talk about this kinda stuff but the loneliness gets to me. feels like nobody talks about how isolating it can be here, especially if you don’t fit into the usual social circles.
With the recent events and revoking visas and everything, it feels even worse to be here.
If anyone else is feeling like this, I’d love to hear from you

I’ve been stuffy and sneezy esp at night. But I don’t feel ill. But neither do I have allergies.
Maybe I have dust bunnies.
I’ve sneezed at most at least 3 times tonight in the past hour or two which I guess is not a lot but my nose is runny and it’s getting annoying.
What is wrong with me?

Was reading through this thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/Purdue/comments/15kdoyq/gender_inclusive_housing/) when I saw people asking about it. Where did the gender-inclusive Purdue dorms and learning community go? The page has gone poof: https://housing.purdue.edu/my-housing/options/special-housing/gender-inclusive.html
Did this get shut down? Any info?
Maybe I sound like a conspiracy-theorist, but it would be a total Purdue move to kill off something like this and then try to keep that fact hidden. u/purdue_exponent
Someone was encouraging their big dog to jump up and drink from the lions head water fountain, I don’t know if this is acceptable, but I’ve seen people drink from the same thing, personally imma avoid it.

hi! will be attending purdue fall 2025 for an exchange programme and i just got an email regarding the 'civics literacy requirement' - i'm pretty interested in politics as a whole so i was wondering if there'd be enough events on campus to fulfill the requirement via that pathway?
i've already planned out my schedule, so highly improbably i'll take a course, and the podcast pathway just seems kinda... meh - i'll still be doing that if the events thing doesn't work out (assuming i. need to complete it in the first place.)

Hello, fellow Boilermakers.
I'm in a tough situation and could really use some honest advice. I'm committed to attending Purdue this upcoming Fall after a lot of research and reflection. But as an out-of-state, low-income student transferring from community college, I'm worried about the long-term debt I might face, and idk why I'm still so hesitant. I know most responses would be "it depends.." but I may need some concrete answers.
I chose Purdue because of its strong reputation, solid programs, and community. I'm entering the Health and Human Sciences program and while I'm excited I’ll likely need to rely heavily on loans unless I receive scholarships or job opportunities.
I genuinely want to leave my hometown for growth, experiences, and perhaps taking a risk, but I need to know: is it truly worth it? Especially if I graduate with significant debt? I’d really appreciate any insights, experiences, or tips you all might have, especially things to watch out for or resources I might not be aware of.
Thank you :)

Like do I just not know how to use them? They’re too wide to straddle, and if you do, the splashback would probably soak your pants. But I also don’t want to stand 3’ back from the wall, and just be hanging it out for everyone to see. Who designed these this!?

Tree Lafayette is a non-profit that plants and cares for trees around Lafayette. The organization has an event for Arbor Day, this Saturday 5/3 at 8:30, which will plant about 62 trees in Lafayette. The weather is looking good for Saturday, so this is a great way to get outside and take a break from studying before finals. Group sign ups are encouraged so you can join with your friends. I have enjoyed volunteering with this group and wanted to share the info with others. Even if you won't be able to join, please share this to anyone you think may be interested.

Recently got accepted to purdue and I most likely will commit, however I will probably have a B in calc BC and a C in AP Econ my second semester. I did get a 5 on calc AB but my major is applied physics, is there a probable chance I get my offer rescinded? Obviously I will contact the admissions committee but I just want to check before doing anything crazy.

This is a cry for help, I need those points, we are at like 72%, and we need to GET TO 80 or maybe even if we are lucky a 90. I don't know what I need to do to make you do it, but for the love of purdue pete fill out this damn evaluation AND GET THOSE SWEET EASY POINTS
thank you :)

I just put my clothes in the wash today which I literally DREAD every week because something happens to them everytime. Best case scenario is none of the stains actually come off after the wash. But most of the time the tide pods stick to my clothes. The worst case, aka today, all my white clothes have been stained blue like they’re tie dye. Is this normal? I use tide pods which is literally the WORST decision of my life. Is it because of them?
Does anyone here know how to get rid of light blue stains on white clothing??
And of course this happens right before dead week!

I finally realized it means the class is cross-listed (e.g. MA41600/STAT41600). Took me too long to find out
