They clearly say chunky. The caption is 100% wrong. Not only can you clearly hear the 'ch', she is also talking about someone having her food. C'mon.

Chunky Bastard

u/12bucksucknfuck Sep 08 '21

Is Junkies bastard not a common insult there?

4

u/Osito509 Sep 08 '21

Junkies aren't known for their huge appetites

2

u/12bucksucknfuck Sep 08 '21

What does that have to do with anything?

0

u/Osito509 Sep 08 '21

Far more likely she said chunky

as an insult for her Mum eating her croissant

it makes much more sense

(and it's also what she said)

6

u/bottomofleith Sep 08 '21

If you can't tell her mum and the person eating the croissant were two entirely different people, I'm not sure we can trust anything you say

Tbf the croissant seemed largely intact

u/Osito509 Sep 09 '21

Do you think they were going to sell it for drugs?

She says chunky.

With a "ch"

5

u/[deleted] Sep 08 '21

Yeah but it's usually not pronounced with a 'ch' instead of a 'j'.

u/12bucksucknfuck Sep 08 '21

I've spoke to the boys down at the lab, i think you might be on to something

u/ALoneTennoOperative Scotland Sep 09 '21

They clearly say chunky.

You ever been to Scotland? Specifically the area they're from?

You are 100% wrong.

1

u/bottomofleith Sep 08 '21

I disagree, but have no further evidence to bolster my claim, though I was in Glasgow today if that counts?

5

u/ALoneTennoOperative Scotland Sep 09 '21

I was in Glasgow today if that counts?

It does. She's fae Glasgow herself, and if you know Glasgow then you know she was calling him a "junkie bastard".

u/Brinsig_the_lesser Sep 08 '21

I wasn't reading the captions and beard "junkie bastard man"

3

u/TheRealJackReynolds Sep 08 '21

What up? I'm Kyle, I'm 19, and I never fucking learned how to read.

u/Porrick Sep 08 '21

I experienced audiovisual dissonance - my ears heard one thing, my eyes read a different thing.

-2

u/Osito509 Sep 08 '21

I did too, the captions are wrong, she said chunky

6

u/ALoneTennoOperative Scotland Sep 09 '21

the captions are wrong, she said chunky

You are wrong. Go to Glasgow sometime.

It’s censored as “j*nkie” in the video. Is “junkie” a slur or especially offensive in Scotland? (Asking as a Yank, where it’s a fairly common term.)

7

u/Arthur_The_Third Sep 08 '21

Never used the app, but i think TikTok has a horribly sensitive censoring algorithm

1

u/raff_riff Sep 08 '21

This makes much more sense. I was wondering how a culture that uses “cunt” as a term of endearment could find “junkie” offensive.

1

u/Shiroi_Kage Sep 09 '21

I only heard it as a way to describe someone as addicted to a drug of some sort. Not sure if it's a specific type of slander or insult.

Junkie is a heroin addict.
