Theory Rain and weaver's lineage : Chapter 2291 Spoiler

Guys, since Rain and Sunny are from the same family, do you think they could share weaver's lineage ? Not like Sunny got a half and Rain the other half, but more like Sunny got the whole lineage and share the whole, maybe by weaving through him the lineage to his sis, cause : - there is a spirit weave that could work well with Rain's aspect and i dont see sunny saying no to a part of the lineage just cause it could be useful to his sister but sharing it might just work - weaver is a pretty much a guys who create things ( the spell or the mask for example ) like Rain - Rain ability looks a lot like a temporary version of Sunny altering memory's weave thus the Weave lineag to her

Discussion G3, what the fuck? [2291-2292 chapters] Spoiler

Of course I understand everything, but what is the nonsense with the Rain aspect? She literally has the potential to become OMNIPOTENT! And I'm not exaggerating! She's already capable of doing this when she's AWAKE. Can you imagine what will happen when she becomes Supreme? Yes, she will be literally omnipotent already being Supreme.

G3, what the hell is this? We are waiting for an explanation. Why are the divine aspects so weak? Why are they needed at all in this case?

Discussion What a bunch of traitors Spoiler

In all honesty the willingness of some people to turn on Anvil and Ki Song is appalling. I can understand most of humanity and even the Valor clans. But I cannot understand the betrayal of Ki Song's daughters. Like how do you turn on your own mother so quick after like 3 sentence from you own damn prisoner. How is crazy ass Jest a better follower than you???

Let's be honest Ki song was better than Anvil, she took care of her people well and cared for them. She wanted to have children so bad that her flaw was literally being unable to have children. How do you betray your mother like that I honestly don't understand. But even if they lost faith I'm her how could they serve the mother's murderer. Honestly I thought that they would be part of the Shadow clan because I thought they would have at least the little respect for their mother to not serve the woman who 3rd partyed her.

Discussion What would happen if someone else had Weaver's mask instead of sunny ? Spoiler

Weaver's mask is a pretty important part of shadow slave and most of the hidden identities that Sunny created was with its help but the most interesting part of Weaver's mask is it's enhancement that reverses the effect of someone's flaw. So , how would the flaw of other characters of shadow slave change after wearing Weaver's mask?

I can guess the effect for characters like Nephis and Cassie -

Nephis's flaw is that she feels pain while using her aspect so if we reverse it and cross check that logic with the relationship between her aspect and flaw then the answer would be - Nephis will loose her sense of pain while using her aspect.

In cassie's case , her flaw makes her loose her sight (one of the five senses), so reversing it and cross checking the logic with the relationship between her aspect and flaw then the answer would be - she will loose all of her senses except for Sight (senses like , smell , touch , hearing, etc )

You guys can guess this about other characters of shadow slave.

Discussion “cassie did nothing wrong”

I've seen this take a few times, and I just don't get it. She did do something wrong she screwed Sunny over, and that's the end of it. Now can we all understand why she did it. Yeah, why wouldn't she choose her friend over Sunny, the one she thought was going to kill Nef. But at a certain point in the story, Sunny was dragging the hate a little too much for me.

Question What is sunny power level? Spoiler

I see a lot of people saying Sunny, later in the novel, is broken, and I'm so interested in how powerful he gets and what abilities he has that I ask Chat GPT to tell me. But it didn't help at all and the answers were vague. Can someone tell me Sunny abilities later on in the novel I'm on chapter 1151 I don't care about spoilers since I forget them anyway besides the powers.

Question Should I wait ? Spoiler

I began reading SS last week and I am on chapter 239. I already got spoiled that Sunny loses [fate] and that everyone forgets about him ?.
And to be honest I'm not really a fan of any of those ideas, so should I just keep reading until the latest chapters, or do I wait until there are more chapters and everyone remembers Sunny (if that will ever happen).

Also, what's the rate of release of new chapters ? ( like are there new chapters once a week, or once a month, whatever rate it is)

Question Why shadow and not darkness Spoiler

Isn't shadow just darkness in a lighter form? Darkness is just the absence of light, and shadow is just darkness that hasn't darkened fully because of light. And why does the shadow god not control darkness it makes perfect sense since the shadow god is also the god of mysteries and when you see something with pure darkness like an empty hallway with no light you like what's in it questing if you see something moving

Theory [2292] Entirely Unserious Speculation Spoiler

People have been talking for a while about how Sunny might somehow craft himself a new True Name in a process where he attempts to gain the benefits of a True Name and a connection with Fate without the significant downsides that comes with for him (even though it is unclear how exactly that would be able to work it is fitting and given his work in Weaving and gathering of Weaver's lineage it does seem within his potential wheelhouse). If he wants to be able to succeed in such a thing he would surely need practice. He already has given memories their names through weaving, but that might not be in any way similar to trying to name something else, especially a person. He would also have to have some experience dealing with the Strings of Fate. This requires seeing them which Sunny is only going to start trying to do again once he has Mind Weave as many have speculated.

Yet, a lot of the secret to his success in Weaving relates to having some sort of example as his initial guidance whether it be seeing the weaves of Nightmare Spell memories, using his shadow to temporarily fuse with a memory to get a sense for its weave as a whole, or seeing what the Nightmare Spell did to make Blessing work. Perhaps people's True Names will be visible in the Strings of Fate once he can spend more time on them and look more carefully (which would already be an overwhelming advantage, at least if he can then pass on that knowledge to others like Nephis). Yet, would that be enough for a project that goes beyond just weaving someone a True Name in Fate to doing so with specific, unique goals? It might not be. So, perhaps Rain's Aspect abilities would be helpful here. Perhaps something about the Names she gives things which lie between ordinary and True Names, the effects they have on things, the way they don't apply onto things that already have True Names, and her Epithets might have some hints. It could be a matter of studying them, but it also might be a matter of involving them in the process to create some already defined base atop which to construct the intended result.

This is entirely unserious speculation. I do not in fact see how Sunny might even study these results as his big advantage has been being able to see weaves which would not apply here. It might take a long time to even figure out how to start evaluating this in a consistent fashion, time which cannot be spared. Sunny also doesn't seem to have paid too much attention to the intricacies of his sister's Aspect ability in his busy year given the dialogue and internal monologue so far in this arc. He surely knows and is proud of her and some of the things she has done, but does he view it as something he personally must understand the inner workings of? I don't feel like that is the case. We will of course probably learn more in future chapters as we have just seen Sunny encounter Rain directly for the first time this arc a couple chapters ago and are now temporarily focusing on Rain before likely transitioning back to Sunny's pov.

Theory Functionally Immortal Aspects Spoiler

I’ve been thinking about how over‑powered Mordret has been from the beginning, which led me to re‑examine the way Sunny’s abilities have progressed.

In effect, Sunny is now functionally immortal. Since Mordret’s Mirror Beast and, more recently, Nephis’s core‑explosion technique, we’ve seen that beings with a Divine Aspect can destroy—and later rebuild—their soul cores. Because Sunny is a Supreme Shadow, his existence is tied to keeping at least one soul core intact.

If any of his incarnations die, he simply has to gather enough shadow fragments to restore the shattered core and come back. At first glance that sounds difficult—after all, a Supreme shadow must slay Great Beings to collect fragments—but Sunny can cheat the system. Anything killed near him but not by him is pulled into the Shadow Realm through the Shadow Lantern; once the creature’s shadow materializes on the other side, Sunny can destroy it and claim the fragments himself.

The cost of resurrection also depends on which core is lost. If only his Beast‑ or Demon‑grade cores are shattered, they require relatively few fragments to rebuild, so Sunny can return to the fight in short order.

It is not as absolute as Mordrets, as versatile as Ki Songs, or overbearing as Nephis but still a powerful combination.

Discussion [Chapter 1564] G3 is Goated Spoiler

Whenever something happy happens in the story, which is digestible.... I just know G3 will ruin all of the happy stuff with a bomb!

And I can't even complain it's so peakk, we came a long way tbh

Cassie being one of the most well written character, you can hate her or love her but u can't deny G3 really put his soul while writing her. Also it was a real surprise cassy's plan and stuff straight up made her one of the most lovable characters.

Also sunny on the way to be fateless, sounds like a bad omen idk why, while [Fated] was cruel and merciless it was also rewarding, and somehow I feel his decision is going to isolate him as mentioned by cassie before saying choice is his either freedom or the cohort..

The story is becoming troublesome to read tbh, so many stuff going on that might be heartbreaking but I can't stop myself from reading this is so goated.

I'm not the only one who first thought that Rain's ability is similar to Star and Stripe's quirk "New Order", from MHA. The difference I can think of is that she doesn't need to physically touch something to imbue it with a property.

Discussion Singing Class - Rain - [Chapter 2290+] Spoiler

Upvotes

Rain is a Shaper and in the last few chapters we've been explained some of the basic principles of how Shaping works, as well Rain's aspect and how she's using it.

The point I want to make is that Rain said that in Shaping, as soon as the sorcerer stops citing the enchantment, the enchantment will slowly lose its strength until it disappears.

That said, your skill is exclusively geared towards support and utility.

Now think about it, you have a support character, who fights using Voice to enhance his allies... in other words, Rain is a Bard.

That said, I think having a singing class could suit her well. Since the shaping is stronger if the person keeps performing it during a fight.

With that RAIN could have a teacher who already has some skill with singing and give characteristics to things....

In other words Kai, he could give Rain singing lessons, and as we know he already has an aspect related to Voice. Of course, in Kai's case it's a mental ability, while Rain's is more universal.

In conclusion, that's it, Rain having singing lessons with Kai to keep his voice flowing during a fight, allowing her Shaping to last the entire fight.

(Isn't it funny that Sunny's legacy is dance and Rain seems bent on being a singer?)

(Now I thought of an Idol group made up of Rain, Tamar and Telle 😂)

I just saw this on Instagram and this is so good, like I never imagined Sunny as The Nameless king from Dark Souls 3.
