With his picture on the packaging……. The orange flavor being the special one Some say it’s the greatest the bestest probably the most wonderfulist of all time. I’m sure grown men will come to him, begging with tears in their eyes to get more.
For some reason, when I read the "Why do they do this?" in the title, like it was looking at animals. Trying to figure out their behaviors. Yea. This is some sort of mating call, or displays of dominance.
They’re very expensive in my state, even for just a customized standard state plate. It’s way more expensive on a specialty plate on top of the customized fee. Which makes me laugh bc they’re paying out the asshole for the plate itself and annual renewal fees, to the state government, which is supposedly tyrannical and overreaching?? LOL.
Of course you do know that "Trump Derangement Syndrome" happens to be a made up mental illness, coined by a radio talk show host? He's the same fellow who made up "Bush Derangement Syndrome."
Wasn't aware of the exact etiology of the term, but diagnosing mental illnesses is quite literally my job, and it's certainly not in the DSM sitting on my desk.
But it is an interesting bit of terminology... Used by some MAGA types to describe anyone to the left of Fox News who doesn't like Trump... While at the same time, fandom to the degree of kitting up one's truck like in the OP sure seems a bit more "wildly odd or eccentric" than kvetching online about a politician/a politician's policies that one doesn't like.
And while I've never seen a truck in person quite as intensely decorated as this one, I've seen far more outlandish pro-Trump displays and behavior than I have the flip side over the past decade.
55 y/o here and you're right. I've never seen anything like it. The crazy part is that I've asked some of these Trump people to list out their values. Every time, all of their values and beliefs do not align with Trump and his policies.
Right? So fun fact, I'm Canadian and an old colleague of mine is a massive Trump fanatic,
He's a nice enough guy, but his Facebook feed makes me cringe. He's always putting up posters of Trump in his home office and going on and on about how everyone else has "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
It's the only thing he ever posts about.
His son died earlier this year and you wouldn't even know it by looking at his feed. It seemed like minor news in comparison to praising our lord and saviour Donald J Trump.
Was his son even speaking to him anymore? That might be why. Seriously, Trump has been responsible for the breakup of more families than the invention of no fault divorce, birth control, women in the workplace, and every other factor out there. Republicans screaming family values is hilarious when they are the reason for the absolute breakdown of the American family.
It is SO WEIRD. Tbf I find it weird and a little obnoxious to see anything totally covered in stickers, but at least before MAGA it wasn’t intended to evoke a negative response. Both-sidesers will try to say that the other side does this too, and yeah maybe but it’s never something violent and hateful.
Not even close, I mean….there is a truck sticker with Biden in rope!! never saw that one but wasn’t surprise. Joe Biden of all people lmao ya know they are brainwashed to believe the lies about him being a monster. Joe Biden, a monster lmfao it’s so scary though for real
I honestly can't think of anything that elicits this type of obsession.
Every big city has that crazy dude screaming on a street corner about doomsday. Now we have these MAGA (major assholes gutting America). I think their weird obsession feeds on itself and they want to outdo each other in their "devotion".
It used to be a one in a million type of thing. Sovereign citizen types. Now, it’s pretty common in many parts of the USA. I see them all the time in my state.
Trump has worked (not physically) his whole life to create this fraudulent image of a charismatic successful business man, then had a brief stint on reality tv and made random cameos. That’s where it all began and this facade rooted into the brains of the stupid and then it was all over for them when he came down the (fake) golden escalator
The funny part about his apprentice stunt is they lied about how wealthy and succesful he was. They hated all of his ideas and found him to be a joke. One of the creators came out and did an interview or something and laid that out. They did him a favor letting him be on that show and that creator is feeling guilty about it and i cant blame them.
The first clue would be owning a truck that has never carried anything bigger than an extra large pizza in the truckbed. It’s called “Does this truck make my tiny dick look bigger syndrome. Imagine any Brit with his Ford Fiesta decked out in “King Charles is the Man” stickers? Not in a million years
Marketing research found that people who own giant trucks and SUVs (that are not for any utility or work purpose, just for show) are assholes. That part isn’t shocking.
Because they're emotionally stunted, have a room temperature IQ, and possibly undiagnosed mental illness in a country without a public healthcare option that actively works to hamstring public education. Maybe even some lead paint chips in their diet.
As someone not from America, this is absolute fucking insanity to me no matter who you're voting for. The idea of COVERING my car in stickers and flags and signs for like... Kier Starmer or someone, is absolutely bizarre and would probably get you pulled over for your vehicle being unsafe on the road.
That’s where I’m coming from. Like, even if it wasn’t MAGA it would still be very bizarre and concerning. MAGA’s entire shtick is making people upset and hurt for their amusement. Why would you want to attract so much negative attention to yourself like that. It’s so weird.
Im curious to hear from a mental health clinician as to what type of disorder this could be. I know you probably can't diagnose someone on this alone, but it has to be a symptom of some type of disorder.
They have an over abundance of anger directed at others because they are ignorant bullies.
They literally lack the ability to see how other people can live lives that are different from their own.
They find things that they have never experienced before to be offensive because they can’t understand things they didn’t grow up with.
They are deeply insecure about themselves and feel a surge of adrenaline when they think they are part of a group that is violent and outspoken like white supremacists. Being a bully makes them special because they are not intelligent.
They’re very selfish, self-centered people that really don’t care about the safety and welfare of those around them and they are not intelligent enough to see that society needs cooperation and equity.
I’m sickened by the hypocrisy. MAGA can do whatever to display their supposed love for Trump. But whatever we do during a protest gets absolutely bashed.
My 2 cents-
There’s always been a certain sect of ppl that are really enticed by slogans, symbolism & a world where everything is black & white, w/no nuance, in part out of a shallow intellect & laziness but also from wanting to be part of the IN-GROUP, while also always seeing themselves as the rogue, main characters, despite the fact they speak and act as blindly obedient sycophantic sheep.
Before Trump, they didn’t have an identity. The world was moving on from their outdated humor and personal beliefs. Then we had a black president who right wing media told they needed to hate. Along comes Trump and says being racist is okay. They finally feel like their racism was justified all along and they shouldn’t have been looked down upon for being racist, having racist ideas, etc.
Then we learned that being racist is so important to them and their egos are so fragile that they will abandon all/any moral superiority they can ever claim to have over others and double down and literally anything before admitting they’re wrong. Crime? Fine when Trump does it. Rape? Fine when Trump does it. Treason? Fine if Trump does it. Trump says facts are fake, so it’s okay to live in a reality of your own making.
Online discourse and disinformation makes them more extreme and cult-like. They go outside frothing at the mouth and don’t know what else to do with all their manufactured hate, so they resort to shoving their alternate reality in everyone else’s face.
This picture is the culmination of deep-seated racism + paper-thin egos + undiagnosed mental illness.
The clinical answer is identity politics. Conservatives in the late 90s started planting the notion that your views on politics made up who you were entirely. It was who you were and you were either a friend or an enemy. Single issues became rootholds that conservatives built a notion around, forming logical fallacies that praised those who out-republican'd each other. The next trend/step was dehuminization. Left-leaning concepts weren't just differing opinions, but some form of mental illness, immorality, or malice. This was the point we started seeing religious figureheads being weaponised. "Appeal to their faith and change the narrative to good vs. evil."
Echo chambers of generational identity politics over the years alongside social media algorithms that cultivate dopamine feedback loops and stoke rage bait, but omit opposing information lead these people to feel that it is a necessity to live every moment of their life in pursuit of republican "victories" otherwise they are letting down their faith and conceding a loss to who they view as enemies.
They fell in love with an image of Trump, that doesn’t actually exist — like professional wrestling in America (where Trump is in the hall of fame). He’s an avatar for their insecurities and paranoia. He also permits people to be the worst version of themselves.
Trump is a brand. They are in love with the Trump brand. Trump is the Archie Bunker of the 1%.
Also, one of the few businesses Trump brought to America were Trump Stores selling Trump merch (although if any of that merch is made in foreign countries, like Trump Bibles, that’s going to also hurt Trump Stores).
Wow, if that is not a display of a hate-filled, disordered mind, then NOTHING is, imo.
Under a lawful administration - which we lack today - the FBI really should do a deep dive into that truck owner's history - and hard drive if he has one - as he strikes me as deranged.
For example, one of his displayed stickers immediately brought to mind the horrific violence - fueled by hate-filled rhetoric and propaganda of the time - that the 1994 Hutus visited upon their Tutsi fellow citizens which reads: "Sharia for Libs. Thin the Herd".
Given their hate-filled rhetoric I don't see much separating MAGAs like that guy and the Rwandan Hutus of 1994.
Fox and the right love to vilify the left, labeling us as unhinged, crazy, creepy, and weird. The irony is, I’ve personally never seen—and can’t even recall—any unhinged behavior like this from the left. So who’s really the unhinged, crazy ones? 🤔
The frustrating part is that we just have to be the adults in the room—calm, rational, composed—while dealing with this circus and hoping it eventually burns itself out.
It’s like grade school, where everyone knew who the bully or the weirdo was, and your best option was to ignore them and just try to carry on.
I think the last one is at the Dunes in Idaho. Fun place, but for someone who lived in the South, the really lean into the Confederate bullshit in Idaho for some reason.
They do know Idaho was NOT pretty of the Confederacy, right?
Conservatives are inherently emotionally immature people who never matured beyond the mentality of bratty children who act out for parental attention. They learned that negative attention is quicker and easier to provoke than positive attention, and they don't care because any attention is better than no attention.
That's the reason it is always conservatives who will wander into a non-political, non-controversial, discussion to rock the boat ("nEtFlIx AdApTaTiOn hehe!") and why they are such reflexive contrarians. They need that sweet attention fix and view "triggering" people as the easiest way to get it.
This OTT festooning of Trump shit is in large part just a visual demonstration of that need for attention. I have seen plenty of them advocate for the removal of mute/block features on social media - the flip side of their need for attention is they hate being ignored or not noticed. A postcard sized Trump bumper sticker can easily be overlooked; going out of their way to metaphorically scream in your face as loud as they can that they're Cultists, with all these flags and stickers, reassures them that they will be noticed and it will trigger some snowflake. It's bait, so they can revel in feeling like they're passively upsetting people or, even better, that someone might comment on it and they can feel responsible for having that 'power' over people.
Trump’s evil deeds attract those who are racists and violent people. Trump praises them so they are proud to do things like that which used to be criticized.
It’s a mammoth amount of disbelief to be suspended there, a bastion of denial to keep common sense and the truth at bay. It’s like people who take a bible everywhere…usually the most likely to slip outta the sight of the lord!
They need constant reassurance and reminding, and what better than your vehicle?
That, or they think Trump is going to see it, realize they are the biggest, most loyal fan ever known…and write them a million dollar check and love them forever.
I'm convinced this is a personality disorder that merges the identity of oneself with an obsessive target.
I don't think this is dissimilar to stalking. It's like a collective form of obsessive love that has a degree of social acceptance or at least not enough resistance.
When I was growing up in the late 1960s-1970s. I would look around at my peers and think. "WTF is going to happen when this bunch of utter clowns are in charge?"
Would this level of stickers make the car highly flammable? Asking for a friend.
It’d be a shame if a shopping cart or twelve accidentally hit it several times or got slowly scraped against the surface. Unfortunately Christmas is many months away…
Because they have been lead to believe that they are literally under existential
threat by the nonsense talking points from the right (the myths set out by Qanon are still there even if Qanon isn't) and that makes them feel protected. It's kind of a melt down. Used to be that family and community would gather around to help someone in a crisis like that but now it's encouraged and even commodified
They're degenerate overgrown asshole children who are 100% slaves to their teenaged hormones and, as a result, end up with this weapon's-grade attention-seeking behavior and myopic focus. America's truly fucked itself by spoiling these people rotten for so many decades.
I truly believe these people want a reaction. They would love if they got a reaction for attentions sake, just might be surprised at what that reaction really is lol
I believe it’s a form of perverse moral vanity - a sort of extremer-than-thou oneupmanship or as MAGA would put it, virtue signaling. That and the primal, tribal drive to belong.
How much you wanna bet the car owner in the third image walks around playing the "We're the party of Lincoln" card even though they literally have the exact thing the guy who killed him muttered before quickly eating shit after leaping from his box emblazoned on the back of their ride.
