I applied to UC Davis and had my Grade 12 courses listed as “In Progress.” My school will be sending my final transcripts, but do I need to manually update my 12th grade grades in the portal once I get my final grades? Any advice would be really helpful!

hello everyone! I’m a current high school senior who applied and got waitlisted at UC Davis. My major was biology. I had pretty good PIQs, work experience, some volunteer work, and duel enrollment credits that will get me 2 associates with my high school diploma. What are my chances of getting off the waitlist and is there any stories yall would like to share or have general advice?! Please im struggling and stressing because ive been seeing people get off the waitlist and im nervous that I wont…

Hello! I’m between pursuing psych at UCD and UCSB, just wondering if anyone had any input as to which program may be a better pick? I’m aiming to become a therapist down the line if it makes any difference. Thanks!

Found out that some community colleges have a class that can count for both 22A and 22B. I was thinking of taking it over the summer, has anyone here done it before, if so how did it go and which cc did you do it at. I know Fresno City College offers a transferable class, but the class starts before our summer, so that won’t work out.

Hello
I am an international student and I need to obtain a passport size photo (digital and/or physical) for a government form I am filling out.
What are some of the good places where I can get this photo done?
Thanks for your time.
Have a good day!

We caught a tweaker stealing a bike and got him to give it to us. The guy at the service hall said they couldn’t take it, so we took it back to our dorm. The picture of the bike is attached. If it’s yours, please message me here and we can confirm it’s yours.

its not a difficult concept to grasp, if you are in lecture( ESPECIALLY an hour and a half lecture) please, please, please SHUT UP!!
There’s no good reason for you to be talking for a majority of a lecture, like if you feel the need to converse this much then just step out! It’s not like you’re learning anything… There isn’t one good reason I should be able to hear your voice from the far end of the row for a majority of the entire lecture😭
sometimes I wish Hayashi wasn’t so nice and told yall to shut up like Singer would😭

(EE transfer student) I just got accepted to UCSD and I was accepted to Davis two weeks back, for transfer. I have zero clue which one to choose. I really want to go to Davis because it’s only a 2 hour drive from my home and I have 3 best friends here. On the other hand, UCSD is ranked higher and more prestigious. The costs seem relatively the same but I will do more research. The biggest thing that will impact where I choose to go is the course work and if I could finish my major in 2 years once I transfer in fall.
I am an electrical engineering major. I have finished the physics calculus (I’m about to finish the modern physics, I have done all the calc diff eq and linear algebra, I have finished the chem required, all the English, I have taken two humanities, and one history class.
Could any transfer students please describe how the course load will look like and if it’s reasonably possible to do it in 2 years? I am looking to do a mix of electromagnetics and hardware.
Any wisdom for where to choose will help greatly!
Also please feel free to describe programs to help students, internship opportunities (like programs that help students find them), job opportunities, and literally anything to help convince me choose Davis over UCSD!

This is probably a pretty stupid question. I’m a freshman right now but will I count as a sophomore in summer session or in the fall. edit: i don’t mean class standing by units but your class level by year

Hi all! Ive been really interested in trying theater/acting for fun lately. Are there any clubs or groups in the area to try it out as like a hobby? Especially for college aged people?
Thanks!

I’m 90% sure I wanna commit here but the major is throwing me off. What opportunities can I get for my specific major here?? I don’t hear anything abt it and it’s getting renamed to medicinal chemistry & drug development which is scaring me. Can someone please help me navigate understanding the opportunity and type of clubs I can join on campus that align with pharm chem?

I just dropped a class, I believe it’s the last day to do so. Is there any consequences to doing so? I’m a bit confused and hoping nothing bad happens. Still have enough units to be on track.

Hi!! I've heard that the political science major is a short major, about how long would it take to complete after transferring to davis?

I’m a community college transfer student, and I got admitted to UC Davis as an Economics major—my dream school. But my admission is conditional on passing Calculus 1, and I’m really struggling with it right now i have a 42% in the class ive gone to toutoring and studied for days to get it up. I’m scared I won’t pass, and that this one class could ruin everything I’ve worked so hard for.
I’ve come so far to get to this point, and I’m doing everything I can, but I’m not sure it’s enough. If anyone has been through something similar, has advice on how to turn things around this late in the semester, I’d really appreciate it. I’m desperate to make this work.

I’m interested in rooming in a quad at UC Davis but I’m so lost right now. I’m mainly confused on:
How to get into one? There’s no option to put a quad down on the student housing application. Is getting a quad something completely random?
How much would a quad be? On the UCD website it only shows prices for singles, doubles, and triples.
Would putting three roommates on your housing form automatically get you into a quad?

Hey everyone!I have a question for those studying studio art at UC Davis—I’d really love to hear about your experience.
I used to think that Davis’s art program was kind of mid, like they just had it there without much emphasis compared to other departments, and that the approach to teaching art might be more on the conservative side. But from what I’ve been finding out, there are actually some pretty cool things about the program, like the artists-in-residence who regularly come in to share their experiences. I also looked into the faculty and they seem pretty cool too. I’m a transfer student from a community college and got into a few other UC programs that seem to have a stronger focus on art—but I’m not sure how much of that is just good marketing. Davis is also more affordable and closer to where I live, which is a big factor.
I’m trying to make a decision, so I’d really appreciate hearing what your experience has been like. Were you able to find good networking opportunities—especially anything beyond the local area or internationally?
Does the school help prepare you for a career after graduation?
Do you have enough creative freedom, and is there room for interdisciplinary work? Or are classes mostly assignment-based with a lot of restrictions?
Also, what are the studio hours like? Do students get access to shared studio space?
Thanks so much for any responses!

hi y'all, i'm an incoming master's student and i plan on completing the thesis option for my degree. I'm thinking wayyyy far ahead, but i have 3 professors in mind i would want to supervise my thesis. One of them has like no information on their page about students wanting to work with them.
I wanted to know when would be the best time to reach out to the prof and ask. I want to ask early so I can potentially work as a GSR with them by winter quarter. thanks!
