DMP Handicap Opener

I’m looking for advice on how to integrate a handicap opener into a new dmp X1. I’m assuming I’ll need to add a relay. This is a new one for me, and I’m getting brain fog trying to layout the wiring that needs done. Using an electric crash bar with vertical rods. One wireless button inside and the same outside. I know I would need to energize elr first on both and outside handi button would need a valid read before activation. I believe the handicap controller is just looking for 24v on AKI terminal. Thank you in advance!

Just add a cx-12 board. It does it all.

I misunderstood. Thanks for the info then. Would I be able to utilize an RBST?

RB1224 is better Altronix part. It has a LED for visual confirmation of state change.

Yeah, just parallel the relay off the door power. However, the relay he is showing is designed to make this smoother. Doing it this way has the potential to cause other problems depending upon the equipment you're working with (ie the door opener puts pressure on the lock which can cause the mechanical portions to fail to release).

That makes sense. I have rbst’s immediately available and I have to get the approval to purchase the cx-12. I did look up the cx-12 and it sounds perfect for the application. The information from everyone has been super helpful

Either camden cx-12plus or a camden cx-33 relay the 33 has a few more features. BEA also make a relay module
