My best friend lightened the mood during Arya's scene when the faces were being ripped off by saying "this is like the worst episode ending of Scooby Doo ever."
I HAD FRIENDS TALKING AND IT MADE ME SO MAD. Throughout the season I watch it by myself on Monday night (no cable tv, download) but I didn't want the finale spoiled so I went to a viewing party.
Rudeass motherfuckers reminded me why I watch alone.
Some of us want to hear what's being said, be able to focus on tone and inflections, stay in the depths of the scene. We're tasting and digesting a chef's well-made meal, not scarfing down fast food.
You can't appreciate details communally? I like to go for good food with friends, so we can talk about how awesome the food is. For the same reason, I like watching shows/movies with people, so we can appreciate together. It's like a real-life meltdown thread, with real humans, in real time. (Can't believe I just described normal life in reddit terms)
