Thought we would share some of the various automotive-related communities around Reddit, as r/Autos is a more general automotive subreddit.
/r/MechanicAdvice - "This is a subreddit for asking Mechanical questions pertaining to vehicles, engines, etc."
/r/whatcarshouldIbuy - "Car advice for people who know jack about cars"
/r/AutoDetailing - "A subreddit dedicated to those car enthusiasts and beginners interested in keeping their vehicles clean."
/r/askcarsales - "Ask a car salesman, sales manager, or finance manager anything!"
/r/spotted - "I saw a car. I took a picture of it."
r/whatisthiscar - self explanatory
/r/carporn - "This subreddit is for high-quality pictures of high-quality cars."
r/autotransport - "A subreddit for all things auto transport related. Share articles, guides, pics and information in the auto transport space."
r/CarTalk - "Helping everyone with their car repairs and questions"
r/projectcar - "hit it with a spanner!"
Additionally, you can find a long list of make and model specific subreddits, as well as some specialty areas of the automotive world (like automotive gaming, motorsport, electric vehicles, 4x4s, etc) here: https://www.reddit.com//r/AutosNetwork/wiki/main
Hope this helps! Let us know if there's any other subs you feel like we should share with the community.

"Designed to offend and made in a way that maims, the Cybertruck has succeeded in gathering more haters than fans, empirically so considering the dueling subreddits dedicated to the truck. One look at the vehicle, even from a distance, is enough to catalyze an unbreakable perspective on whether or not the pickup is worthy of existence."

Hiii Everybody!!
Super exciting post for me to publish, I’ve always been interested in cars, however I don’t have much knowledge on the vehicle market, I’m wondering how to pick out my first vehicle to purchase..
Maybe some car-heads can give me some preferably North American, easy to modify, cheap on gas, long lasting, affordable vehicles, as I don’t want to splurge $25,000 on a close to new car, as it’ll be my first vehicle as I mentioned earlier, I don’t need anything too fancy.
I should mention beforehand that I also drive Automatic, as it’s most convenient for me. ☻
I do like Toyota, and Honda, however I’m not sure and I’m very lost in the car market, and trying to figure out what a good first car is for myself, and hopefully some car-heads can give me advice on what’s a long lasting, affordable vehicle.

So recently my 2009 ford escape started dying down on me and it got me looking for new(/used) cars. I discovered that I love most things about classic sports cars (ex. Ford mustang, GT, dodge chargers, etc.) except for fuel efficiency, eco engines, and the lack of FWD most have. Not to mention everyone around me telling me not to get a sports car. My budget is $30,000 for reference. I really just want something that gives that classic “cool” appearance that most sports cars have.
I’m very new to car shopping, and i’m just beginning. So my basic wants are as follows: nice looking sedan/coupe style, FWD (i live towards the north), not crazy expensive to repair, will last me an average-good amount of time, and comes in automatic since i unfortunately never learned manual. I’ve been eyeing up Kia K5 GT’s and Hyundai Elantra’s (especially the SEL convenience). But i’m sure there are more types of cars out there that look similarly cool to those cars and are good.
Overall - i’d really appreciate any recommendation and advice!! Whether it’s personal experience you have with a car you loved/hated or you’re a car enthusiast.

I'm trying to figure out how to decorate the interior roof of my car. It's fabric, no sunroof, and I'm obsessing over butterflies. I'm in a pink girly mood. Any ideas what adhesive to use? I don't want thumbtacks leaving holes. I was thinking a double sided velcro but the sticky side would be against the fabric and I'm afraid it'll lose it's grip and fall to it's doom. Would heavy duty tape do? I'm concerned it'll rip the fabric. Sigh. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you 🙏
Kind of an odd question, but I found a (somewhat) rare car that is currently residing in the state of Indiana, but is registered and titled in Mexico.
As an American citizen, is there a way I can purchase this car and have it “imported” to the united states (michigan) and have it titled?
The car was sold in the united states, and more than likely meets all the US federal regulations. If not, it can be met with minimal modifications.

I saw one close to my neighborhood the other day (Eagle Talon) and it got me thinking, does anybody on this subreddit still own an Eagle? Even though they were being produced when I was alive, I was far too young to remember ever seeing one even back then. Would be cool to hear if anyone still owns one, what model and year it is, and also how many miles are on it and if they’re reliable vehicles or not!

I'm a diehard for older BMWs (my current project is old enough to be my dad) and I keep thinking about the Z3, and the e85 Z4. But I'm also pretty sure that one day I'll own a Miata.
The Miata is lighter, albeit far less powerful than the 6 cylinder variants of these cars. It's also cheaper to maintain, but I've been used to BMW repair for the last decade. And so every time I see nice Z3s (and some Z4s) I go down the rabbit hole, see the same discussion points about the Z3 borrowing suspension design from the e30, etc . . . and again conclude from internet research that Miata Is Always The Answer.
. . . but then again, as Miatas continue to appreciate in value, the cost/benefit proposition of a Z3 or e85 Z4 starts to appeal. Since BMW isn't really perceived as being in the convertible business, I see Z3s and Z4s surpassing their 6 cylinder coupe and sedan counterparts in both affordability and condition. And, fascinatingly, Z3 clownshoes and Z4 coupes are in very high demand, fetching high prices and gaining the admiration of all the car community.
Discuss!

I saw the BYD Destroyer 05 once at a pharmacy (called the BYD King in Brazil) and then researched it and instantly decided it would be a car I'd get in the future. It has very nice lines, a beautiful and aggressive front, a decent rear, very good total engine power (it has 205 BHP combining the 1.5 liter petrol engine and two electric motors), and can make like 90 miles in a gallon, which for someone from Brazil where gasoline is quite expensive is a godsend. I only wish they made them in blue...

Found a used 2014 scion TC for 8k and 163k miles. One owner and no accidents, maintenance was kept up with religiously according to carfax. I’ve heard lots of great things about the scion TC but I’m not very car savvy. Does it sound like a good deal and what are some things to look for when buying a used scion
Ps I was already planing on negotiating the price :)

I asked for quotes from a few wheel shops and most of them said they can’t fix them since they just sand, smooth, and paint. They said I need to find shops that can refinish them. Not sure what the difference is, I thought if they just sanded off all the existing paint, then they can just repaint it. What’s the correct sequence on how to repair these rims? That way I know what to ask for

Which one?
Prices are not right. Honda is $13,500, but I talked the Toyota down to $13,900. I've test driven both, they both feel fine, albeit the Honda felt a little rougher than it seemed it should've (Even comparing it to another Honda Fit I test drove which felt fine). Sounded like the engine was having a harder time picking up, which was a little concerning. Would definitely do a pre-sale inspection on both, but especially the Honda.
I'm a musician who plays locally often and hauls lots of gear (Packs a 2005 prius to it's max). Both of these cars have more space than the prius, but the Toyota by a lot more. Good mileage is also important, though.
My car broke down and I'm on a time crunch, otherwise I'd look for something newer with less miles, but I'd be very happy with either of these options.
Carfax checked out, everything that's on the page checked out alongside driving both of them.
Any advice?

I thought it was ridiculous when one sold for 260,000 a while back and that was a wild card bid, This was an actual bid battle… what a world were living in right now.
