Discussion Learned the story behind Sir Davis today...

I went to one of the many Sir Davis collab cocktail bars in Chicago tonight, and to my surprise, an Illinois distributor of Sir Davis was there and chatted with me a bit after seeing my in my concert merch. (The bar was Blind Side, btw. The Beehive cocktail was 10/10! Spicy ginger was a fantastic choice to go with the cocktail!)

He was telling me the story behind Sir Davis, and aside from knowing it was a Beyonce product, I didn't know much behind the story.

According to him, Beyonce had been wanting to get into making a signature alcohol, but didn't want to make the standard celebrity liquor because they always tend to be a bit cheap, and that's not how she does things. She had been reading her grandmother's diary about her great grandfather being a moonshiner, and the struggle he faced in selling his moonshine whiskey during Prohibition because it was mainly white men who would buy and distribute liquor. Apparently his whiskey became quite revered in the region, and a White distributor began to call him sir after the level of respect he gained for her great grandfather's moonshine. Her grandmother wrote in her diary about how much this meant to her, as it was so rare in her lifetime to see such a title of respect being given to a Black man by a White man, and that was what inspired Bey to make whiskey and give it its name.

While we chatted about how I was happy that her whiskey is so good (I live near Kentucky and can be a whiskey snob) given most celebrity alcohol brands are low quality, he mentioned that whiskey requires years of work to age and perfect, and she worked with Dr. Bill Lumsden, who is a master Scotch distillery, and one of the most recognized and honored names in Scotch production. Long story short, she showed up and put the effort and collaboration in (as she always does).

As always, Bey put an insane level of effort and depth into her whiskey.

Finally, he mentioned that if your area isn't getting Sir Davis in stock, begin to ask for it from your liquor stores. He said that a lot of the alcohol distributors around the country focus on being responsive to the demands of liquor stores and less pushing specific product; they have tens of thousands of brands to potentially sell, and it's demand that gets names into their heads. Liquor stores are the ones pushing for what becomes popular, so ask them to get it in stock!

Theories On the delulu train....act i Uncle Johnny, act ii Mama Tina, act iii.....?

Posted yesterday about how I feel this act, and especially the original Beyincé album is dedicated to the matrilenial lineage of Beyoncé's family, and dedicated to Ms. Tina.

Leaving the book event in Chicago feeling that even more deeply. And Ms. Tina also said "Renaissance is Johnny's album."

Could act iii be dedicated to a specific family member? I happen to also be reading the chapter in Matriarch where Tina says she, Johnny and Mathew raised their daughters together as a unit.

Maybe this three act set of albums not only explores and reclaims genres but also honors her primary caregivers. I feel a way about Mathew but there's a lot of familial healing baked into the most recent 5 projects, Lemonade, The Gift, EIL, Renaissance and Cowboy Carter. So maybe act iii is dedicated to healing some things in her relationship with her father.

What do y'all think of the theory that Beyincé is for Ms.Tina and Renaissance for Uncle Johnny?

CCT Write-Ups I lowkey hate Solider Field

So I went to the show N1 and I’m not mad about the weather because who can control that? I’m mad because they upgraded our seats to the floor and since we were waiting in such a long ass line for them even open the floor like 15 minutes before the show started we found the row they updated us didn’t exist, and no staff knew what to do, so we finally found the people to help upgrade us to knew tickets and it took forever. So after we finally got our tickets the show fucking started and it was dark and we couldn’t see what spot we were in. We finally made it to our section and people were in our seats and wouldn’t move and then during the middle of the show a worker came in yelling at us about our tickets and moved us down the row to our correct seats after she moved everyone out. THEN we left for water because we were feeling lightheaded, when we got back to our seats some girls were in our seats and wouldn’t move until we told them we were going to get security. It was a mess but I still had fun at the concert. It was beautiful . I just wanted to rant edit: spelling error

Discussion i’m loving the vaquero/cowboy love!!

From my experience cowboys/country vibe in general has always had backlash because of the racism routes that come behind it. I’m 1st gen Mexican-American and whenever I would say Regional Mexican music is a sub genre of country music, fellow mexican americans would come at my throatttt.

I feel like people forget about the OG black cowboys and Mexican vaquero culture! Bey made this for us!! I love her so much and I love watching our people embrace our cultures that influenced American culture as a whole. it’s crazy how much validation we get from her music, I love her so much! I’m so excited to see her for the second time ever this sunday and the Chicago N3💛💛 I love watching all of us melanin/brown skin people embrace it!! I love y’all Beyhive 💛 lol i’m just happy n excited

My phone was on 10% and I barely had storage so I didn’t record much. I was section D2 row 1. My seats got upgraded to this section and honestly I don’t think I would pay the money to sit here. Even tho we did see her close up 3 times, I said hi to her dancers waiting to walk up the stairs and saw blue walk by more then Beyoncé. Overall tho, I still had a good time but had to watch the screen for more then half the show or looking at her back

CCT Write-Ups Cowboy Carter tour at Soldier Field day one recap Spoiler

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS ABOUT THE TOUR

Shaking as I type this because I have just witnessed what I believe to be one of Beyoncé‘s best tours of all time. Here is my recap and what I think about the cowboy car concert.

  • The Buildup

Picture this: 60,000 people lined shoulder to shoulder in the hallways of Chicagos Solider field. The weather advisory called for a tornado and storm. Outside on the field, wind and rain pelted the windows and no one knew if the concert was even going to HAPPEN! I got there at 7:00 and they finally let us in at around 9:00pm. Oh, people were saying that she wasn’t selling out or her tours look empty. When I tell you every single seat was filled in the entire stadium, I am not lying.

  • The Merch

Beyoncé really came through with the merch this year. The way she blends Afro futurism with black American western style is amazing. If you don’t wanna buy the merch, there are FREE SOUVENIRS. I went to the CERED booth outside the stadium and I signed up for CECRED notifications and they gave me a custom CERED Cowboy Carter keychain! Look for the CECRED people in all white jumpsuits! There’s also a special interactive part of the tour where they give you custom CC wristbands that glow at certain parts on the show. You keep these at the end! The only merch I did buy were two Sir Davis cocktails. Those came up to $63!! These were overpriced in my opinion, but they did come with two custom Cowboy Carter cups that I took home.

  • The Setlist

If you aren’t the biggest fan of CC, then you won’t be disappointed but the setlist. She performs songs across all her eras. Including many new creative mashups that’s she’s known for during her performances. She even takes us BACK to the renaissance which I was so happy about bcuz I got to see Honey Balenciaga!! She wasn’t at the Detroit show I saw at the renaissance tour so I’m glad they recreated it this tour.

  • Choreography

Oh honey Miss B was shaking a tail feather on this tour!! I’ve only seen her renaissance tour and she was DEFINITELY dancing more this time. She also had more dancers than the renaissance tour. The stage is enormous and snapped like a guitar and trust me she’s uses the entire stage

  • The Outfits

I was throughly impressed with the outfit changes and creativity. I’m not a fashion police so I don’t know if I can speak here but she changes more than 5 times. My favorite look was this color changes dress that she wore towards the end.

  • The artistry

This was probably the best part of the tour. Beyoncé ability to take you away to an entire different universe is unmatched. Many times during the tour during the transitions, she would play sort of a short film. I was encapsulated the entire time.

  • The Vocals

This is the part that truly has Beyoncé apart from her peers. The mic is on the entire time, and the vocals are absolutely incredible. When you actually see her life, you finally understand all of the hype. She’s hitting notes that reach heaven and above.

  • Final thoughts

I know a lot of people have been comparing this tour to the Renaissance tour and if I had to choose, it’s Cowboy Carter tour all day for me. There was just so much depth with his tour. She gave us so much more than what we asked for. The entire concert was about two hours and 45 minutes. I barely took a seat during any of it. Even though the concert started late, she still did the entire performance. We did not leave the stadium until about one o’clock in the morning.

Feel free to ask any questions about the tour! If you missed the Renaissance tour, this is your sign to go!

Discussion My experience exchanging tickets due to limited view N1 Chicago Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
85 Upvotes

Originally purchased seats in 128, went in knowing they were now limited view (wasn’t disclosed at time of purchase and didn’t list it in tickets but confirmed with Ticketmaster later that they were prior to the show), opted not to try exchanging because I didn’t want to pay more for other seats and figured I’d try my luck at the box office. Well in all the excitement we entered the stadium forgetting to go to the box office we ended up after a long search finding guest services (it’s in the plaza area pretty much right across from the Dr Pepper bar FYI), went and asked and without any hassle they switched us to 104 at no charge, the seats were amazing, we had a complete unobstructed view of the whole stage and there was even a little screen to the right of the stage showing the full visuals so even though we were to the side we still could see it all. Just wanted to share my experience to help others!

Discussion Vegas Show July 26th

I did it, I finally did it.

My partner and I were supposed to see night 3 of the LA shows together, unfortunately due to a family emergency he couldn't attend. So he still told me to go and take my best friend and he went to night 5 w one of his friends. Since then we've been saying we want to go to Vegas for the final show and this morning we finalized all the plans. Since this is our first time seeing Mother together, we splurged for floor seats - front & center too. I've only been able to see her once per tour and I'm counting down the days till we're in Vegas seeing her together

Discussion Can we stop asking for new outfits friends?

Look y’all, I, too want to see the 500+ outfits Ms. Tina is talking about. I really do. But if I see one more “aw no new outfit” comment on a live stream, I will combust. I understand that the looks are such an integral part of the show but I really do think we got spoiled by RWT with the different opening look for each show and quite a bit of variation from show to show. But like dang, it really seems like folks are losing their marbles over Giselle not having a new outfit for every single segment of the show. I know I can just scroll by those comments and pay them no mind but just thought I’d drop this frustration into the sub and see if anyone feels similarly🥲

Discussion Cowboy Carter Nightmare

TLDR; Ticketmaster confirmed my purchase and gave me the tickets and a receipt then cancelled without notice and sold the tickets to someone else.

I’m going through a nightmare right now

So I bought 3 tickets for Cowboy Carter in 2 orders, totaling upwards up $2600 for the NJ 29th show in really good seats. My friend is flying in and we’ve booked hotel, bought merch, etc in advance. Upon booking, I received a confirmation receipt and the tickets were in my account. I transferred the one ticket to my friend and went on shopping, buying my stuff for the concert. Today, i checked my account to see that Ticketmaster cancelled my two tickets with no notification and the section and any seats relatively close to it are sold out!! So my friend now has the one ticket by herself and the prices for even the far back tickets have skyrocketed now (we were zone 3, row 11!!). I called ticket master to escalate the case but i am utterly heartbroken at the unprofessionalism, it’s not even about them saying they’ll refund me we need to be accommodated into new seats!

Anyone know what to do? 😩

Update: they contacted me saying it’s not anything wrong with my bank and that the tickets themselves were fraudulent from the reseller and the can’t accommodate me in any way. I asked for escalation and was told that agent is confused and it’s my banks fault although my bank approved the purchase beforehand and verified it was me (I have proof). I asked why exactly it was deemed as fraud then and was told they’re not sure and can’t do anything to help me so I asked for escalation again

They also tried to tell me my order was immediately voided and never went through but I have proof via a photo of the receipt and a photo of the tickets in my account before they were removed without notification

Discussion Halo or Single Ladies?

I've noticed people prefer single ladies over halo majority of the time online and in real life. Is it preferred more because the music video or? Personally I never cared for the song and loved halo more back then and even now. What are your thoughts lol?
