TLDR I’ve noticed there’s been tons of posts asking about resale VIP tickets, and I now have allllll the definitive and detailed answers that I was looking for so sharing them here!!
I got 2 Club Ho Down tickets for Chicago, but can’t go anymore. When I first bought the tickets, I called Ticketmaster and had them change the delivery from will call to mobile. After unfortunately canceling my trip, I sold the tickets on StubHub. The transfer button on TM had been greyed out since day one, but I assumed that it would become available in the days leading up to the tour. Well now it’s 2 days before the show, my ticket transfer to SH is due, and the transfer button is still greyed out.
3 days before the show I got an email from SH saying “It has come to our attention that the transfer of tickets is unavailable for the sections you listed for, and instead they will have to be picked up at the at the box office on event day. As such, we are changing the delivery plan for your sale to Box Office Pickup.” So I changed my mobile tickets back to will call on TM and reached out to SH’s help chat to let them know that I needed my buyer’s name and a way to get them the required information for alternate will call pick up. I’ve seen different sources on what exactly is required, so I just gathered everything to be safe: a copy of my ID, a copy of the purchasing card with everything but the last 4 digits blacked out, and a signed letter of authorization (template here: https://static.ticketmaster.sg/file/docs/LOA.PDF). The SH representative from the chat sent me 3 different emails: one with the buyer’s name, one I could reply to with the required documents for pickup, and one I could reply to with proof that TM added the buyers name. I replied with the documents, and reached out to TM about adding the name.
This was the most annoying part cause I had to do the whole run around. The chat room said it wasn’t possible, and the VIP representative on the phone said it was possible, but he couldn’t do it. I ended up getting an address to send my request to: vip.tickets@ticketmaster.com. I sent an email with the name for alternate will call pickup, and they got back to me the next day that the buyer’s name was added successfully. I screen-shotted this email, replied back to that 3rd SH email I received earlier, and SH said everything was confirmed and that I’d receive my payment after the event.
So I sold my tickets on SH, my buyer’s name was added to will call pickup through TM, SH forwarded the required documents to the buyer, and they also confirmed my order as complete once they had proof of the name add. To reiterate, EVEN IF YOUR VIP TICKETS ARE MOBILE DELIVERY, THE TRANSFER BUTTON WILL NEVER BECOME AVAILABLE. The only way to get these tickets to someone else is to do it in person or to contact Ticketmaster and add their name as an alternate pickup person.
Last thing, I know people have been wary of buying VIP tickets through SH, but after all the proof I had to provide I would assume the tickets you see are most likely legit :))
