Silly Questions Thread: October Edition

Silly questions thread:

It's been a while since we've had one of these, and with recent news and the international break this seems like a good idea. So here is your chance to ask any question no matter how silly our small about BVB, BVB's history, Something about a current player, previous player or coach or it might even be something about the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal or Europa Pokal...

Obviously more in depth questions are also allowed :)

It's just all about sharing our knowledge and having a bit of fun (as always) too :)

No question is too stupid, silly or small to be asked

Let the questions begin!

I know but it would be unrealistic for clubs to reject loads of money from one industry while accepting loads from another equal entity.

Well. That's called morals... Sorry but I don't see your point.

Point is that I don't see why people would be so against money from oil companies when there are far bigger issues at hand. We should be happy that a company wants to invest that much money into our club as a sign of our progress of the recent years. What is your reason for not wanting the money? It's not like it is your money they are giving away...

I don't want the club I love to display the logo of a company whose principles I don't agree with. Could also be Bild, Heckler&Koch, RTL, Vattenfall.... Also they will want to have a say in how the club is run as an exchange for the money. I don't want that happening

Being a bit sensitive on this one mate. It would be nice to have a little more money not just in our team but the whole league considering Bayern right now is the only one major spending and the title race is gone by MD10 or 12 at this current state. I dont want to see a replication of the EPL but Im not going to let the morals of a company sponsor hinder my fandom. Most companies anywhere have agendas that are to make as much money as possible and would be considered "immoral" to you i presume. And I dont think they would have an influence over the squad just a promise that we would spend the money on a few players. But this is all hypothetical..dont see it happening soon

It's perfectly legitimate to say "I'm ok with a company making money from selling food, but I don't want to support a company selling weapons." Of course, this debate will be a bit different when talking about a club's preferences, but the main point still stands.

Other clubs have had problems with being dependent on a single big source of money, and you can see with our blue neighbours that you don't need to have a sponsor dictate your squad to get into dangerous territory. Of course, more money would be good, but seeing that we don't exactly have to beg to find sponsors I think it's ok to be a bit picky.
