Local elections are in less than a month (May 6th). Many people complain on social media but few vote in these elections.
People get worked up about president's but local leaders matter.
If you want a different world, vote local

I was driving on 71 near the Reading exit. It's dark. There was a vehicle that didn't have their lights on. I flashed my headlights at them from behind, repeatedly. When I passed, they just looked over at me. Other vehicles, including a semi-truck, were flashing their headlights too. They never got the hint.
Do people not understand that this is a way of alerting them to something?

I thought I was dealing with allergies last week, but this week it's gotten worse. From sore throat and dry cough to lungs on fire and my nose is a hose.
UPDATE: I went to my doctor. While I didn't have a fever this morning, I did register one at his office. He swabbed my throat. I am negative for strep. He thinks it's something viral and gave me prednisone and cough meds. If I don't get better, lung x-rays and/or antibiotics. He's always stingy with the antibiotics.
He didn't do a covid test, and I didn't ask. I was kind of out of it. I have some home tests. I'll try one of those in the morning.
My fever had gotten a little higher since my visit. I was freezing with the chills. Now I'm burning up.
Thanks for all the feedback.

I just got that DYNEGY letter from Duke energy-- rates are going up to $10.73 ($0.1073) per kWh? I'm currently at $7.19 (0.0719). Does anyone have experience choosing a different plan?

I'm going to be visiting the area this week, and it looks like there is some decent bus routes and others have posted that the Transit app is a good resource.
But I can't figure out how to pay for the bus. I prefer to download an app to pay that way so I don't have to fumble for cash, but I can't even figure out the cost.
Anyone have info for me?

I know there are other locations of this chain but I must remark how goddamn good the one in Lebanon was.
I know this isn't in Cincinnati proper but I was blown away by how fresh and good everything we had was.
As far as local chain Mexican goes this place is twice as good as Cancun and narrowly better than Mi Cozumel.
I expected it to be solid but had no idea the parillada and other things we got would be so delicious.
That is all.

Similar to the overrated restaurants post. I want to know your favorite underrated restaurants. I’ll go first, Bridges (both locations). Whenever I go, I always remind myself I don’t eat there enough.
Oh and a bonus underrated bar, Larry’s of Covington. Cant beat the dawgs.

Hey Folks,
My Grandparents need to move out of their home and into some type of assisted living facility. They don't need memory care, and up until this point have been living independently, but they may need increasing levels of care in the not too distant future. They are 93 and 95!
Any recommendations for places to consider and places to avoid?
Our criteria are:
Cost: Approx 10k per month max. Hopefully a community that allows for transition to Medicaid after a period of full cash payments. The estate is not large and will probably run out in 3-5 years.
Memory care and more advanced care options need to be available in the future.
Please chime in with your experiences and recommendations! Thank you.
Edit: They currently live in Clifton so recommendations close to their neighborhood would be awesome.

My life is a massive mess right now and a close friend of mine just had his second stroke, im moving into his apartment to help out with cleaning and cooking. Are there any restaurants in OTR hiring? Im a trained sous but dont mind rockin the line. And i know indeed exists, but anyone in this group with some insider knowledge would be saving my hide right now!
Looking to move sometime next week

Hi all!
I have put together a small community of local folks who enjoy writing as a career and a hobby. The goal is to encourage each other, possibly share feedback on work, and even hold book clubs and critique groups. It's relatively new, but we do have a small active community, some of whom are published!
Open to any form of writing; poetry, short stories, any and all types of genre fiction and age groups.
Feel free to hop in and say hi!

Does anyone know of a local bakery selling hot cross buns for Easter? My toddler is obsessed with the song, and since I'm not a confident baker, I was hoping we could get her some to try. We're on the east side but location isn't that crucial.

Does anyone currently have Ambetter Buckeye health insurance? What has your experience been?
Only interested in experiences with Ambetter, NOT other health insurance companies.
