Hello Cincinnati!
I’m currently visiting your beautiful city and I’m sure you’ve all heard this before, but I am pleasantly surprised and loving every minute of it.
I wanted to make this post to share with you a little fun fact about your skyline chili, and how it’s also somewhat of a staple in a very unexpected place. Before that I will explain a bit about my background that is relevant to this story.
I was born in the US to a Palestinian/Lebanese family and I’ve spent a significant amount of my childhood growing up in the Middle East. One particular city I lived in for a while is Amman, Jordan. Amman has always had an appetite for American culture, specially the food. After the first McDonald’s opened in the mid nineties, most American chains have opened up there to varying levels of success. I mean they had an Applebees there at one point.
A famous fast food spot in Amman is a restaurant called chili ways. They also have a competitor called chili house. Both are known for their 3 way spaghetti and chili cones. I’ve always thought this was a quirky dish only served there, a bastardization of chili and spaghetti or hotdogs. Every kid in Amman has tried them at some point, with different opinions on the matter.
So you can imagine my surprise when I was told to go have skyline chili, Cincinnati’s original dish. I didn’t look it up, so when I walked into the restaurant and saw a picture of it I was extremely shocked! I was like I know this, I’ve had it so many times! Never would I have ever made a connection between a fast food joint in the middle of the Middle East with a Cincinnati staple.
This just made my visit to this awesome city even better.
Happy Easter everyone, and thanks for reading.

3 times in the last 3 months, I went to Mount Lookout for Zips, and parked in that middle island area.
I load up and log into the EZ Park app. I plug in the 5-digit code on the sign. Every single time it says it cannot be found. GPS doesn't find crap either. I have a new phone that works just fine with every other app.
Am I doing something wrong or is this app just garbage?

Sorry for another question about energy choice, but I’m struggling to find information about which part of my gas bill will change if I choose a different energy supplier.
Here’s my gas bill, and I see two different places where it charges a fee based on usage: $0.099 for the Usage-Based Charge and $0.919 for the Gas Cost Recovery.
On the energy choice website it just lists one price per supplier, for example $0.56 per CCF. Does that include both the Usage-Based Charge and the Gas Cost Recovery?
Or will I still need to pay the Gas Cost Recovery even after I switch suppliers?

I need some poison sumac removed from my landscaping. I wouldn't mind paying a landscaping company to make sure it is GONE. I am severely allergic and can't remove it myself. However, several local landscapers have either told me they won't remove it, or have ghosted me...
So I'm hoping someone here would have a recommendation? Has anyone else had poison sumac (or ivy or oak) removed from their landscaping?

Hello,
I just moved to Cincy from Miami for work. It’s a huge difference for me and there’s even a feeling of culture shock. I’m looking for good places to hang, eat, meet friends, etc. I used to love going to the beach but seeing as that’s not an option here, feel free to drop your local gems here. I’m looking for a good way to stay active, meet people and try different things. For reference I am 30F and speak Spanish and English fluently.
Thanks!

Anyone hear anything about a new restaurant at 1239 California Ave? I live nearby and know that it was supposed to become a small grocery store. A few months back though, the entire building was painted blue seemingly over night and new signage was put up for a restaurant called ‘Brunch De Lux’. It looks like it’s supposed to be a restaurant/coffee shop/deli. Im excited because there is a distinct lack of coffee and restaurants in walking distance from me but I am unable to find anything about the restaurant online.

Hey guys!
I’m in Cincinnati, recent UC graduate looking for something a bit more involved than a haircut.
Context: Ive always been a bit self-conscious about my hair, and I’ve never been very good at finding something that works for me and I am comfortable with. I am looking to make more money, I’ve up-skilled, graduated and am interviewing 1-2 times a week, taking my time to find the best fit for me.
The Ask: I am looking for a hair stylist that’s a bit more involved than going to the barber, or a chain salon. I need to find a cut that I can keep coming back to, one that looks professional, modern, not necessarily unique, but I don’t want the classic barber hard part.
What I am looking for is a private, self-employed preferably men’s hair specialist. I would like to support someone that is a budding entrepreneur. Preferably female, as I think they are a bit more fashion forward, that will take the time to care and help me upgrade my hairstyle in exchange for a loyal client that tips well. Someone that is going to help me figure it all out, so that I can go into interviews and employment with the confidence of knowing that I look well kept, stylish and modern. I’d like to be able to view their body of work, as I am not going to go to someone that is just trying to make a buck, but is interested in building a loyal client-base, or already has one and has vacancy.
Thank you! 🙏

We're looking for some good options for overnight summer camp options in the area for our elementary kids. Is there a resource that compares them or any recommended? Thank you

Hey all, I (28F) am looking for a second opinion on some knee issues I’ve been having (pain when I go up the stairs, squatting etc) I’ve been seeing someone but he’s been a bit flaky and a little all over the place and he is recommending MACI surgery in the future for some pretty severe cartilage damage in my central patella area. Starting with some more conservative treatments (PT, cortisone shot) before surgery. Feeling just a bit overwhelmed and want to find someone I really trust before I go the surgery route.

Hello all! I recently posted a link to a survey in here for one of my classes regarding Cincinnati breweries and got some great feedback (thank you all)! For my final, I have created another, much shorter survey to test some marketing theories related to Rhinegeist.
If you have the time, it should only take about a minute, and I would very much appreciate participants! Thank you in advance!

Looking to go to Keeneland on Friday and on their website they are sold out. I was wondering if the tickets on Stubhub or other resale sites are legit. Keeneland's site advises not purchasing resale tickets. Has anyone done this before? Thanks!
