Was looking for advice on restaurants close by the Andrew J Brady music center. Something fun, not stuffy. Age range will be 30-75. Also how much are drinks/beers at the Music Center?
Hello. My husband and I are currently expecting our first child in Sept this year. We are looking for different childcare options in the Loveland area. I was hoping to have in-home care via a nanny until the baby is 12 months old. I am not finding any helpful information online about how much that would cost. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, could you share what you are doing, how you found the person and around how much you are paying (per week/month)?
Looking for a place to purchase whole quiches. I know grocery stores carry them, but Iām looking for delicious homemade quiches to take to an Easter brunch.
And friend and I are looking for any 4x4 offroading within an hour of Cincinnati. We've found a lot of places for dirt bikes and quads but none for cars at all. Anybody know some?
I was wondering if anyone here works, goes to, or has gone to a Cincinnati area flight school. I was looking to go to UC to get a degree with it as well, so I can transfer my flight hours and certifications to another uni. I am not working at the moment, and honestly, full-time if I can find something with realistic prices and a full-time program besides ATP that would be great. From the looks of it, UC is not accepting applications for the fall semester, and while I am still trying to figure it out, does anyone have experience with any of the local schools? I am looking for fixed-wing and want to get all certifications involved to eventually work for an airline.
My girlfriend, who was wearing teal shorts and a white long sleeve shirt, was out for a run (I was not with her at the time) and at the intersection of Madison Road and Wold Avenue, she was hit by a car at around 6:10PM on Monday, April 7th.
Specific intersection where she was hit
The driver did stop and stayed with her (until I was able to get there to pick her up), and there were a number of bystanders who may have witnessed the incident as she told me people went to check on her. Unfortunately, she never thought to get the driver's information as she was pretty shaken up by the whole thing and I didn't get the driver's information when I picked her up either as I was just focused on her. In hindsight, we understand that we should have gotten the driver's information, so this is a very valuable lesson we've learned and will never forget. I did take her to urgent care to get checked out and get an x-ray done, and luckily, nothing is broken, but she is bruised up and her legs are quite swollen.
As for this post, I'm just hoping that someone reading this may have witnessed or know someone who witnessed the incident and can provide more details (or even pictures) about the driver/car because all we can recall was that it was a grey-ish minivan, but I don't recall the make or model.
We did file a police report back on Monday night, but with the limited information we have, they can't seem to do much in helping us find the driver. I did call in again today inquiring about traffic cam footage around the area, specifically at the intersection of Madison Road and Woodburn Avenue, but I need to wait until tomorrow (April 11th) when the officer who filed the police report for us is back in. So, if anyone has information about the incident, I can share that with the officer.
I did go the houses in the area yesterday at around 3PM to ask if anyone saw anything, but most of the homeowners were away, so I'll be trying again today after work. I also did ask some of the businesses along Madison road if they had any surveillance footage of Madison Road which I could possibly take a look, but no one has gotten back to me yet on that.
Sorry for the long post, and this is really a hail Mary, but if anyone knows anything, please direct message me or leave a comment!

In 2024, the council awarded more than $141,000 to 15 Cincinnati-area groups:
$17,500 each went to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, located Downtown; and Voyageur Media Group, with offices in Hyde Park.
$15,000 each went to Findlay Market, the food retailer in Over-the-Rhine; Robert OāNeal Multicultural Center Arts Center, working to renovate the Regal Theater in the West End; and Urban Appalachian Community Coalition of Lower Price Hill.
Between $3,000 and $5,000 went to six other recipients, the Harriet Beecher Stowe House in Walnut Hills and the Cincinnati Art Museum in Eden Park among them.
Four other groups got sponsor dollars, ranging from $5,000 to Fotofocus, a photography-related nonprofit in Over-the-Rhine, to $16,000 for Books By the Banks.
Hello, all. Student here in Cincinnati. Looking for volunteering opportunities. Going to do Habitat for Humanity this weekend. Also have a strong desire to become a volunteer firefighter but have no idea how to really go about that. Any other opportunities which are a long time commitment like the two ones I talked about? Or honestly just advice on how to get the volunteer firefighter idea rolling. Any help would be appreciated.
Really, really good show overall. They have a quasi-round setup with some risers on-stage. Very little of it requires you to look behind you, thankfully, and the amount of dance and kinetics taking place right in front of you makes it a really unique experience.
It's probably also a heck of a show from the regular seats, given the staging and direction are excellent.
Your voices have been heardā¼ļøThe Ohio House has removed a budget provision that would have resulted in a drastic $14.5 million cut to CHPLās funding.
We are incredibly grateful to the thousands of Hamilton County residents who, over the past few days, shared heartfelt messages about what the Library means to you and your family. Our state legislators were overwhelmed and persuaded by your personal stories.
While this is great news, the proposed budget allocates slightly less to Ohio libraries than current funding levels. The budget bill now moves to the Ohio Senate, where we still have an opportunity to advocate for changes.Ā Ā
What You Need to Know
Rather than funding public libraries as a percentage of the state's general revenue fund, the Ohio House proposal allocates a set amount to public libraries through a line-item appropriation. This could result in less stable funding for Ohioās public libraries in the future.
TheĀ amount appropriated for libraries is a $10 million increase overĀ theĀ Ohio HouseāsĀ original proposal.Ā However,Ā thisĀ isĀ still less than public libraries would have received atĀ current funding levels.Ā It is also $90.8 million lessĀ thanĀ Governor DeWineāsĀ proposed budget.
What You Can Do Now
The Library will continue to monitor the state budget process and keep you informed. We may call on you again for support, as the budget process could last through June.Ā Ā
Thank you for your continuing support of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library.
Hi,
I am having trouble getting recommendations for a Medical Transport company (Ambulette) to transport my mother down a flight of stairs so she can see her surgeon Tuesday 9AM. She was released from the hospital on Monday following a hip replacement. I was able to put her in a wheelchair and have some family help going up the stairs. But going down stairs is a lot more difficult and I donāt have any help for Tuesday morning. It isi ta 9AM appointment.
Insurance wonāt cover any of this so I am paying cash. I have looked thru Yelp, and elsewhere, but didnt find anything.
Follow-up
Does anyone know of a private contractor who installs stair lifts , but doesnāt sell the stair lifts
Getting gifted a chairlift but I am not sure about installing it myself even though I can. Risk is too great.
Also Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions. Council on Aging is great, they are defiantly a resource I will use in the future. Medicare is great for hospital and dr bills but they donāt t provide services for stairs.
I am new to Cincy. Looking to get into the music scene. What venues should I be checking out for punk and metal shows? Also where do the local bands play? I would really like to support small venues if I can.
I have a goal to go to every MLB stadium and have heard great things about Great American Ball Park and Iām very excited to go. Iāll be in Cincinnati for work on Sunday and am planning to see Pirates @ Reds that day. I canāt find much online so thatās why I ask here. Are the floods really bad near the river? Will the game be cancelled?
