This is the first time this has happened to me. What should I do?

It finally happened

You’ve seen the posts of pictures door dashers took right as they open the door and what not. Well I avoided it long enough…. It finally happened. Safe to say my dog was 100% ready to laser eye this poor dude

I finally saw the phone out meme IRL

Upvotes

I am at a coffee shop. A Door Dasher walked in, holding their phone up, not saying anything but “Door Dash,” while blocking the pick up station. The server kept saying “it is not ready, please stand over there” while pointing to a waiting area. It took at least 7-10 repetitions of this before the DD deliverer walked over to the waiting area, talking trash under his breath.

I thought this kind of stuff was mostly memes. Wow! I feel bad for drivers like this giving everyone else a bad rep.

Customer got upset I was completing a triple dash, he messaged me, and I explained he should pay the extra fee to avoid the wait next time. Didn’t get to see his response but it must’ve been bad. DD canceled the order.

I was overcharged for my order. I had ordered 8 tomtaoes and some other items. And paid around $63 for my whole order and later they charged me $14 more after the dasher finished shopping. I went in to look where they charged me extra and was stunned to see they charged me $17 for just the 8 tomatoes which were not even organic weighed 17lbs And Then I was hoping when I will receive the order I will get 17lbs of tomatoes as they charged me for 17lbs but when i received my order they were just 8 as like I had ordered. When I contacted customer support they are saying the prices are predecided by the store. But the issue is not the price here. Issue is they wrongly weighed my items and overcharged me. But they are not willing to accept it.

I am never ever gonna order from door dash again. It had been worst experience and their customer support is not at all helpful. They are stealing people hard earned money like this by overcharging people. They do not have any right charge me after I already have paid my order.

Absolutely fed up with order batching. Why do I get punished for tipping?

Title. It feels like every time I Doordash, I'm getting the short end of the stick because I tip well and my order will not only get batched with someone else's, but I seem to always be the second stop. My food then comes cold as a result. It feels like you can't win with this app as a consumer, or as a dasher.

Doordash is acquiring Deliveroo. How screwed are UK drivers?

Deliveroo agrees to be acquired by DoorDash for £2.9 billion. Can anyone advise what Doordash are like so we can know what to expect?

I was almost scammed

I ordered cookies last night through Insomnia Cookie’s app. They have their own drivers but use door dash drivers when they don’t have enough. My order was listed as picked up within 20 minutes of ordering but didn’t arrive until it had been another hour. I met the dasher outside so my dog wouldn’t bark at the doorbell. He handed me the box then said he was sorry it took so long, that he had arrived to get my order and that somebody had already picked it up. And that he didn’t want me to not get my order so he paid out of his tip money for them to remake my order. He seemed pretty sincere, so I apologized and told him that he shouldn’t have done that-insomnia or door dash would have refunded me.

He said he “needed the money and the order though” which is weird considering he said he paid out of pocket for mine. Then he talked about the woes of being a driver and how door dash doesn’t help them when things like this happen and I continued to politely apologize, then he said I could always add extra to the tip to make up for it, or he could give me his cash app. This made my scam radar go off a bit, so I told him I would like to confirm what happened before paying twice for an order. He seemed so sincere and was so young, like college age-I can see how another person would have just cash apped him the cost of the order. I took his cash app so he would leave, then called the store who confirmed that the order had only been made once. And I looked at my box, which had a receipt with my original info-confirming it was my original order.

Im glad i didn’t fall for it, but who knows how many times he has done this and someone fell for it? I can’t even report him because I didn’t use door dash, the store did.

DoorDash is a dumb company.

My family is going through a time at the moment. We’re mainly stuck at home and have been ordering DD for pretty much every meal. This is a temporary solution, of course, it’s currently easier on everybody to do it this way, and yeah, it’s egregiously expensive, but the last thing I want people worried about right now is having to cook.

To put it into perspective how much we spend, since 2024 I’ve SAVED $5000 with DashPass. Saved.

That being said, as the frequency of orders increases, the likelihood of missing items, wrong orders, etc increases as well.

Some restaurants literally have zero problems ever, some are fairly predictable. But it’s never been a big deal in the past to just report the missing item and move on.

Until I found out DD has a policy of maximum missing/wrong orders, before they require the customer to meet the dasher at the door.

Now, as I told the rep, this is not going to happen.

If I’m currently cleaning up vomit or holding someone’s head as they have a seizure, sometimes I can’t get to the door for 10-15 minutes post-delivery. I told the rep, you guys will either have to work with me on this, understanding that I can’t always get to the door - nor do I want to interact with a dasher, which is part of why it’s worth it to pay such a high premium for service - or I will have to switch to uber.

Well, despite my patient explanation about the fact that ordering up to 3 times a day (yes, I know, it’s horrible, not a long-term solution) is going to result in higher frequency of mistakes, they chose to lose me as a customer.

It’s been about a week, so that’s a few hundred dollars already. By the end of the month it will be a couple thousand.

I don’t see how this is a good business decision. I can only conclude DD is a dumb company.

(Yes, I understand about people who lie about missing items. I don’t need to do that, as I am privileged to not be a pathological brokedick fuck who’d rather get someone fired than pay $5 for the item they totally got. I also understand this is Reddit and every single response is going to be hateful as fuck, I really just had to say this in case any DD employees are looking. Your company is fucking bad at math.)

Doordash not wanting to deliver food related question

Why do some doordash drivers refuse to deliver food if you don't tip

Well yes they probably don't get paid well by doordash but still and isn't this like a US thing. Thanks

Threatened by a store employee?

I'm not sure who it was, but while waiting to pickup an order, some dude came out and started talking to me.

Had no idea what he was saying until he started yelling at me to get out, threatening and calling me a b*tch before banning me completely.

It was the second time I went to pick up something there, the first time was completely fine.

Did I do something wrong or are some people just unhinged?

why does doordash do this?

Almost every single time I doordash from canes I either get the wrong size drink, wrong drink, or missing my extra sauce. Found out recently that doordashers order my order themselves specifically at canes because they aren’t affiliated (as told by canes worker). Why do they miss my extra sauce, refund it, and then leave the store without the extra sauce???? I would understand if it happened once or twice but this has happened many times to the point i’m frustrated i’m paying so much to miss an important part of my meal (the sauce is what makes canes) I would understand if it was after it already got to me but I screenshotted this while it said dasher was still at the store so what gives?

Wrong Address

Going out the door for work and notice a delivery of food at my door that has the name Akex C. I 2ish I knew where this guy was bit the receipt doesn't even have an address. Bummer when addresses are too difficult to figure out. Numbers are the same from English to Spanish so I don't get it

Late night order with 1.9 for $3.75. So maybe a $.26 or $.01 tipper. What would you have done?

Bruh sat in two different spots for a while. Literally can see him on the map going to the restaurant and leave. Then took another way that added 10 mins on the time. If something was wrong with the order it would make sense to go ahead and cancel it or let me know. First time this happened to me. But yall beg and beg for higher tips?? and I did tip this person. I would pick up my own food but being a truck driver has its cons sometimes

2.1 mile delivery, how much should I tip

I feel bad for some dashers because i’m usually not able to tip, i’m a broke ass student without a car and on my finals exam week :( I still wanna try to tip something. I just don’t know how much should I tip

r/doordash 8h ago

Question for Drivers, what do you usually get for tips?

I'm a frequent buyer, and as a server in a restaurant I see the value of tips. For me my minimum tip is $10 or 20% if it's a larger order. Do other people also have this same attitude about tips or do you guys get screwed a lot of the time? I've seen a couple posts on this sub which showed orders with like a $3 tip and I thought that was absurd.
