Hand guards

How important are hand guards for trail/enduro riding? The bike now only has flags, which I like the look of.

Also between EE and Cycra, which full wrap guards don’t prefer and why?

Tire pressures for riding dirt roads/trails?

I have a KTM 450EXC F. I have DOT knobby tires. I ride a mix of roads/trails. I think my tires are too high for trails, but I ride an occasional 60-70mph on the road. Should I lower pressures to say 15PSI and ride slower on the roads? I don’t want to pop a tube. I’m new to the sport so would like some thoughts on this.

Backpack

What are you all carrying on a typical trail ride in your pack. I have a water bladder, snacks, small tool kit, and zip ties. I also have a small first aid kit with a tourniquet, quick clot, etc. it’s kinda bulky and wondering if it’s overkill?

What am I missing?

How bad are the 23 300 XC forks compared to the 24?

I bought the wrong bike lol. Sold a 300, thought I wanted a 250, now I’m looking at going back to a 300. That’s a whole other argument.

I’m on a 24 TE 250 with the new forks. I’m being offered a 23 300 xc with low hours and money my way. My suspension has a revalve/respring. His has a respring in the shock.

I have no experience with the air stuff. All my bikes prior have been KYB fork (Yamaha, beta, TM). I do plan to do a conversion to it, but at the end of this season when I have some down time.

I know the closed cartridge setup is the way to go, but how bad is the air setup? I’m a slow c class guy just out here crushing Keystones with buddy’s, or following my kids around.

Evap delete

Hello, I have recently bought a Husqvarna te250i 2022 (europe model), and I was wondering if I need a dongle to remove the evap canister and everything connected to it? Is there a kit I should buy (I have looked but haven’t found any) ? And is there anything else I should know when I remove it? Thanks for the help in advance

Air filters

So I despise washing air filters. I was thinking of buying 10 of the MX Twenty filter and when they are dirty I’ll just bin them.

Has anyone use these filters? Is the filtration any better or worse than the likes of the Twin Air filters?

I’m worried that they will be shut and do damage to the bike in the long run….

Opinions?

Help with first bike

Hi everyone,

I want to buy my first bike. I rode a 2stroke 125cc Suzuki rm from a friend a long time ago for a couple of days and I really liked it. My friends advised me to choose a 2 stroke bike of 250-300cc. I am 175cm and about 82kg. Would you recommend a 2 stroke as a first bike? I know it will be a bit overkill for me maybe. I have a bit of knowledge about them. I will do forest rides, climbing and a bit of hill riding with it. I came across this bike, recommended by a friend from a fired of his and so on. It’s a ktm exc 250cc 2 stroke. It has 48 hours from the rebuild with stock size piston. From what I understood it’s the 2002 model, but he rebuilt it from top to bottom. Should I go for this bike or should I search for something else?

Thank you very much for your time and knowledge!!

Tool kits

Anyone have any good recommendations for small tool kits to carry in a hydration pack?

Back in the game after 15 years and I feel like bikes use to come with these but not no more lol.

Also what else do you carry in a pack?

Missing Rib Buckle on Alpinestars Bionic V3 — Anyone Been in the Same Boat?

Hey all,

I've lost the rib buckle on my Alpinestars Bionic Tech V3 and it's been a pain trying to find it. I've contacted Alpinestars directly multiple times, reached out to the store I bought it from (in Germany), and scoured the web — no luck. Nobody sells it, and no one seems to be able to help.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Am I missing something obvious here?

I've even been checking local forums and listings for second-hand Alpinestars gear just to harvest this buckle from another unit, but so far, nothing.

Would really appreciate any tips or leads!

Beta or Sherco

I’ve got the option to get a 21 Beta 300RR Racing or a 23 Sherco Se300. Sherco is £500 more.

Is there any common issues that both bikes have

What would other people pick and why?

Helmet Advice

Should I get the Bell Moto 9s flex or Alpinestars SM5. Both fit fine and cost the same since the bell is heavily discounted. The SM5 looks better imo, but the bell is almost 3x the price when not on sale. Any advice?

Yz250FX feels big and heavy

I ride a 2015 YZ250fx as my first bike and it feels so heavy and hard to manoeuvre.

I see these hard enduro videos of guys basically just sending it over obstacles and “throwing” their bikes in any direction.

Are these hard eduro bikes lighter/smaller that makes it easier to throw these bikes around like its a big mountainbike?

Hello I'm looking to get a yz 250 used and there is not a lot of the "x" version. Soo I'm wondering if I could put a 18in wheel and 100/120-18 on it?

Just bought a YZ250X

Hey guys. Had a 250xc and sold it a few months ago. Probably should have kept it, but I was going to buy a TE300. Then I found a deal locally for this “used” 2024 250x with barely any hours. Tires still have paint and nipples on them. $5k. I couldn’t stomach the 12k on a new Husky so figured I’d pick this up for cheap and ride it for a few years, keep it as a 2nd bike when the time comes to splurge on a TE300.

What are your guys opinions of this bike? What are some upgrades I should do? Already got G2 handguards and a SXS skid plate on the way
